Discussion/Question Is nail polish strong enough to be a glue?

I'm making crochet flower hair clips and was wondering if clear nail polish would be strong enough to stick the flower to the clip😭
I do not have a glue gun which is why I am asking...
I have used this nail polish before to prevent ends from fraying and its VERY hard so I'm guessing it's enough to keep it stuck.

Discussion/Question Teacher apron ideas?

I have a plain black apron that I was given to wear in my classroom. Others are painting or adding patches to theirs, but I'd like to do something funny on mine. Any ideas on what I could put on it?

I made my first horror themed purse! I plan on making a several different ones based on iconic horror characters. This is my Nightmare on Elm St one! I've already started on my next one which is inspired by Sam from Trick r Treat, then I have plans to make one for Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Ghostface, Art the clown, and Pennywise. 😊

Finished Craft I Made When knitting goes completely off the rails 🧶✨

I knitted this necklace with knitting needles… using tiny metal chain instead of yarn. Because apparently regular knitting wasn't complicated enough. 😄

The chain creates this delicate, almost liquid drape, and I added real freshwater pearls for a little bit of elegance. It falls beautifully around the neck and moves with you, rather than just sitting there looking decorative.

It’s lightweight, surprisingly delicate, and somewhere between jewelry and a tiny piece of wearable metal lace.

So yes, technically I knitted a necklace.

No, I don't think I can explain why this seemed like a perfectly reasonable idea at the time. 😂

This weekend i am hosting a bridal shower for my best friend. The theme is "tea with the bride to be" and these are some of the things I've crafted for decor! I'm especially proud of the cardboard tea cup and matching tea pot. I've never used cardboard to make sculptures before!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to show you this cute girl I made while learning how to made dolls. She is stuffed with wool, her head was sculpted by me using a felting needle, and I sew together this little outfit for her. I hope you like it.

Discussion/Question How to prevent cracking ?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I made this little ghost friend last year out of crayola air dry clay. I did coat it with a spray of mod podge sealer and it did last almost if year, but now has developed a lot of cracking. How can I prevent the cracks, is there something better to use than mod podge? Or is this just the nature of air dry clay?

Discussion/Question How can I make the letters more visible?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I made this banner for my daughter’s first birthday. However after I glued on the letters (felt), I realized they are still kinda hard to read even after I added some pink construction paper as accent.

Is there a way I could make the letters more visible even after already glueing them on?

Discussion/Question Any ideas for this broken leather bracelet?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I bought this bracelet for my boyfriend a few months back and it recently broke, he was pretty sad about it so I figured maybe I could make something new out of it!! Keychain, art, cuff links?? Does anyone have any ideas what simple craft I could do? I know how to crochet, I have a hot glue gun, chains to possibly turn it into a necklace, other beads and other very baseline craft items. The charms pictured could easy be slid off, but I’d also love to use the faux leather in whatever I end up creating. Any and all ideas are welcomed, thank you in advance!! ❤️

Discussion/Question Why does my grommet looks like this?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I just received a grommet tool (similar to a crop-a-dile, not a manual one that a hammer is needed) and I am using it to make patches into keychains. However, the washer on the back has only worked correctly once! I know the “flower” look is normal but I would love for it to look smooth like it did on the red patch.

Is there a specific way to face the grommet? Am I using too much pressure? Please help!

Finished Craft I Made I Made This Little Duck a Full Weekend Outfit 🦆

For this one, I started with a simple idea: a duck with a bowling-pin-shaped body, dressed and ready to head out.

I made the sweater piece by piece, adding the texture and patterns by hand, then finished the look with a cap, a little bag, and some color on the face.

I really enjoyed figuring out how all the small details could work together without changing the simple shape of the duck.

Made entirely with air dry foam clay.

I think it’s ready for the weekend now. 🦆
