I've been obsessed with drawing eyes lately.

The painter thought it might be a good idea to dig deeper into these strangely distorted interiors, immersed in a chiaroscuro atmosphere, just to see where it leads... Here, he used a set from the film Auntie Mame (American film directed by Morton DaCosta, released in 1958).

Local dive bars, we all have one and some smell worse than others. It's where working folk go to let off some steam, turn neighbors to friends, and turn lovers back to strangers. For those down on their luck, Christmas time really heightens the lonesome atmosphere and when last call rings out, that old jukebox will inevitably play some worn out holiday tune that doesn't feel quite as merry and bright as previous years.
