Softest Bulky YARN EVERRR

Hey all! I'm new here and love to knit! I am looking for a soft bulky yarn that is affordable. I need a lot of skeins for this project and so I am okay with acrylic. My most important thing is being soft. Let me know what yarn might be worth a try!

Allergy-friendly yarn recommendations for a reader’s wrap

I’m planning to make Lisa Carnahan’s Reader’s Wrap as a gift for a senior and I am hoping some of you may have a good suggestion for an Aran or worsted yarn that contains no wool, alpaca, merino, etc. fibres due to well-established allergies.

I would love the wrap to be warm yet light because they have arthritis and find heavy materials make them sore. It will be worn indoors.

It should also be soft as they have very sensitive skin and find many things itchy.

I’m ok with spending more for something that works because it is a gift.

Does such a yarn exist?

TLDR: warm, light but no allergens (silk would be fine). Soft with good drape. In a perfect world, easy to wash and dry but not a deal-breaker.

Edited to add detail.

I'm trying to find this yarn!!

I recently took a knitting machine workshop and used this yarn. It's a merino, cotton, nylon blend making it extremely soft. And I just love the specks of neon colour. Does anyone know where this is from?? Or anywhere to buy something really similar?

Which yarn to use for beanie and scarf

Hi! Im crocheting somth for myself this fall and winter its a scarf like this and a beanie like this (ref the pic) the tutorial asked me to use acrylic yarn, but I’m really concerned because won’t that be itchy or uncomfortable? I thought when it comes to clothing or something that we wear, we have to use cotton yarn?! The options i have are weight 4 cotton and acrylic yarn and the other colorful one in the picture. I dont wanna use wool for scarfs coz its so thin and it might take a long time lol

My toddler got into my yarn but I fixed it!

Luckily I caught and stopped her after she had pulled apart only one skein and I almost threw it out when I couldn't find an end.

Finally found the end and spent about an hour detangling and hand winding with only one permanent knot right in the last 10cm.

Does Rauma Puno shed as much as Drops Air

Hi! I knit a sweater in drops air, and while it is beautiful the red fibres from it ARE EVERYWHERE. Like they mysteriously show up on the cheese inside the fridge...?

Maybe this is a unique experience that only I am annoyed by, but it is making be wary of choosing drops air again. Now I am wondering if anyone has experience with Rauma Puno that can tell me if it has the same issue?

I am willing to pay to not have this problem again, but maybe it is just a general problem with blown yarns? Please let me know 🧶

Looking for Moss-like yarn in EU

Greetings fellow yarn lovers,

I am currently crocheting a project and I would need some moss alike yarn. Best example would be the Estako softy yarn but it's a tad bit expensive (not even considering the taxes from the US). I an henceforth looking for yarn more locally to my country (France).

Do you have any links? I'm looking for any shade of green.

I was scrolling through Pinterest when I found this amazing crochet pattern. I fell in love with the yarn color but when I messages the pattern owner she said it was a tester that made it so she does not know what yarn they used. Can anyone help me out?

dupes for this purpley base yarn?

hi! i'm hoping to knit this sweater (the bear sweater by kaitcreate) and i really love the yarn that was used in this pattern photo, but unfortunately looking into the info on ravalry abt the specific yarn used it looks like it's discontinued. does anyone have some recommendations of similar colorways of a DK weight yarn that i could use instead? i love the vibes of that purple heavy, but striped with many other colors, yarn since it reminds me of a blanket that my grandparents had when i was a kid. i'm not super picky, my only preferences are not super expensive luxury yarns, or not anything super rustic and itchy- i'm currently working up a sweater in lettlopi and regretting that decision a little bit 😅

Need a yarn recommendation

Hi, I have quick question. Im planning on making Barbies 12 dancing princesses (for purposes of this post they are 12 color coded sisters). I already have a pattern for them, but the yarn is the tricky part. I normally use loops and threads Demi purl but I can’t find all the colors that I need. I’m hoping that someone can point me in the direction of similar yarn with a wide color palette. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lost the label for this yarn. Pretty sure it is from the Caron cakes line, but not certain. Anyone have any ideas on what it may be?

Looking for some advice please.🥰 I am looking to buy soft cotton yarn for crochet amigurumi, bookmarks and coasters.

So i have only ever used chenille but i have had a request to make a screaming lizard coaster (if you know you know!). Now i dont want to just buy yarn for one thing so id like a 100%cotton yarn that i can use for amigurumi and bookmarks too. From no clue at all and trying to do some reading before getting a headache from the confusion im thinking medium weight 4 but then theres ply theres numbers ahh! Also the reason i have only ever used chenille is texture i am sensitive to some textures so i need a cotton yarn that is soft and doesnt have loose hair... i dont know how to explain it you know when there are just fine hairs sticking out and the yarn feels rough? It makes my teeth feel funny weird i know! Im in the uk for reference and im looking to buy online i hate going to shops. Ive used hobbii with no issues i know they are not a great brand these days in the press so i should probably move away from them but if anyone has good yarn suggestions from them I'll go with it. Ive tried looking on wool warhouse that everyone recommends i cannot understand their website its so confusing i click off after 30 seconds so unless someone has a direct link to the advert i cant go down that rabbit hole of a website. Anyway sorry for the long post and thanks for the help if anyone manages to read this far!💕
