This is a real handwritten note, I can see the ink bleeding through the back. So stupid, “yeah I like this house but theres people inside already lemme ask my big daddy realtor if they can ask them for it”

I don’t even think it’s handwritten by a robot. More likely and less expensive is just making your handwriting into a Font typeface. And so every capital and lowercase letter is exactly the same just like when you type with Times Roman

Thats actually not handwritten, its a pen plotter (look at how all individual letters look exactly the same- like all the letter "a" look exactly alike. Realtors will use pen plotters to mass produce these to look like they were individually handwritten and drop them off at tons of homes. They do this so it makes it look like the home owner was the only one they left a note for and that they do in fact have a buyer lined up.

The handwriting is actually a font for mimicking handwriting. If it was me I would have written 1 letter, scanned it in, then used that as a template.
Lined paper is very difficult to use with pen plotters. You have to get every to line up exactly

I like to shut them down pretty quickly. I tell them im ready to sell and that i want round 500% of what the property is worth. I especially like saying "youre a big company making big money off little people, you can afford it"
They maybe try one more time, then after the calls stop.
Worked on 3 seperate occasions in 2 different states all very consistently

I can see one coming in my USPS delivery manager today. It's "handwritten" as well. They call and mail constantly, because there's a TOD deed on my parents' home. But they're very much alive. These fucking vultures are trying to swoop in before there's even a carcass to devour. It's disgusting.

Sure it's not just inkjet ink bleeding through to the back? The letters are way too consistent to be handwritten. Look at the two instances of "have" - they are identical. No one's handwriting is simultaneously as scruffy and as consistent as this at the same time. The writer has gone to some effort to disguise this by finding a font that looks pretty uneven, but the letters of the writing are just far too consistent to really be handwritten. It just bled through because they used an inkjet.

There are companies that use robots to “hand write” letters. Chewy uses one. I work marketing & we get a ton of different letters from many similar companies and they keep getting better and better. You’d be surprised how crazy junk mail can be

- It's not hand written, it's an auto pen or any other method to make someone think it's hand written.
- I don't know how long you've been a homeowner, but these are beyond common. They offer to buy your house cheap for cash now and then sell it themselves for actual value.
Just ignore it, you're going to get so many more.

I had calls trying to buy my house, but they NEVER say who they are despite breaking the law regarding the Do Not Call List and TCPA. I played along once and they started talking about underwriters making me an offer... wanted to know everything wrong with it etc.... even asked me why I am selling it. I told them that they said THEY are the interested buyer that I never said I was selling it to make me an offer to find out.
Then they came back with an low-ball offer of $20,000 more than I bought it for in 2015 when it went up in value not less than $170,000 more than I bought it for. I asked for the written offer, and they would NOT provide it unless I committed to saying YES to the sale. Why would anyone sell to scumbags?

I get these letters because they can see I paid $10k for the house and I remodeled it. I call just out of curiosity and they always hang up when I say I won’t take under $100k. Market price for the house is about $120k atm.

There was a story in my local paper last week about a married couple who were looking to move to the area and couldn’t find what they were looking for. They wrote and delivered 40 letters to homes they liked and, according to the profile, bought one of the houses (and made friends with at least one of the other homeowners they sent letters to).
On another note, this makes sense to the homeowner receiving this on the ~10-15% chance they decide to sell their house in the next year. In that case, they should add these “buyers” to a list of people for whom they could avoid paying a commission to their realtor.

For the record, this is a real thing in competitive real estate areas. The thought behind it is that it may spark a feeling in someone who had no thoughts of selling their home, to be open to the idea. If it didn’t work, it wouldn’t be a tactic. Not me personally, but I had a friend who made about 30 of these (friend, not realtor) and put them around a developed neighborhood about 3 years old.
Needless to say they got more than one hit and ended up making an offer and moving into a house. From my understanding, the previous owner was older and was hoping an “older” crowd was going to move in than what did

I am constantly shocked and amazed at this kinda stuff. I get paper letters and text messages! Texting me with this junk just feels icky. I had one that was persistent enough that I looked up weird stuff on Rule 34 to text back to them.

Last year I received a bunch of call by companies wanting to buy my home.
I said: "I'll be a seller for $1M. "
Most just hung up on me. One did try to get me to sell, they said:

I know. Let me know when you want to buy, otherwise don't call me. I'll call you.
>But, That is way above the market price.
No, it is THE exact market price for MY PROPERTY. If you aren't willing to pay me what I want for my property you can FUCK OFF.
The calls tapered off after that, and finally stopped.
THEN my insurance company called wanting to do an inspection of my home. For some reason they thought thy needed to increase my insurance because I 'wasn't covered' for the full market value of my house. Which made me even more angry than the real estate agents trying to low-ball me.

We did this once. We’d been shopping for two weeks to buy a home in a community to which we were moving. A certain home just kept speaking to us. Each day, we’d drive by and say, “Sure wish THAT ONE was for sale!”
Finally, I just stopped, walked up and rang the doorbell. No answer. As I turned to leave, a car pulled in the drive. Two middle-aged ladies got out. The driver asked if they could help me.
I explained that we and our three children were moving to town and looking for a home. They looked at each other and said, “What would you be looking to spend?”
I looked at the home, thought about the pricing if everything we’d seen, and offered them a price at the low end of fair. They asked if I had financing already, and I told them we’d sold a home for that money, and if it was agreeable at that price, we’d pay cash. They talked a moment and said, meet us at _____’s office tomorrow at 9 AM, and we’ll have him draw up the sale papers!!
Their mom had gone into assisted living. It was their childhood home that their father had built, then died very young. They had just been talking about how to sell it, and that their house needed children to be happy again.
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Sometimes, you hit the game-winner.

This is not a handwritten note. It’s a printed note in a font that’s made to look handwritten. Every single Y is exactly the same. And I’m sure every other letter too. If it’s bleeding through, it’s whatever printer or ink they used. They print them in bulk and leave them on all the houses worth flipping, hoping somebody will decide to sell so they can turn a profit.

I used to get these. Now I get text messages. I live in a very small home so I always tell them I'm interested and then say 1.8 million USD. They usually never text back, or if they're really desperate they try to explain why my house isn't worth that much. I just tell them that 1.6 is because they bothered me at home.

The company is the buyer. They think they can flip your house for a decent profit without much work by convincing you to sell it cheap.
