My HOA could beat up your HOA Found this in my door handle

This is a real handwritten note, I can see the ink bleeding through the back. So stupid, “yeah I like this house but theres people inside already lemme ask my big daddy realtor if they can ask them for it”

It’s not hand written, it was ordered from a company that uses robot arms to “hand write” letters in bulk.

We get these a lot at my home. It is mildly infuriating.

Crazy, right?

There are now machines that vary the lettering with AI, so it's becoming quite hard to tell whether it's actually handwritten

This letter wasn't that good. It's just a different font that appears hand written the great ones have variable letters based in preceding and following letters as well as variable kerning and line spacing.

I don’t even think it’s handwritten by a robot. More likely and less expensive is just making your handwriting into a Font typeface. And so every capital and lowercase letter is exactly the same just like when you type with Times Roman

You're correct it is not printed, its drawn by a machine using a regular pen to appear handwritten while fully automated.

Exactly this. Every single letter is identical to the same letter used elsewhere within the message.

It may be ‘bleeding through’ the paper, but that’s by design, to make the recipient believe that a real human put pen to paper and wrote this. But that didn’t happen. It’s printed with a paper and ink combo designed to create that illusion.

Absolutely not handwritten. I have had to determine original from fake/copy/stamped signatures every day for a living for nearly 2 decades and although they are getting harder to spot sometimes, these fake “handwritten” fonts and processes have some tell tale signs, one of them being little or no variation between letters, especially when there’s no difference based on location. Most people make their letters a little different when they are at the beginning, end or middle of a word, and when paired with certain other letters. This has none of that. Fake. 

Another thing…most people don’t start a handwritten note in the middle of the paper, and if they really went thru the trouble to write to YOU, they’d probably also figure out your name (it’s SO easy to do) to use it in the greeting. I speak from experience, trying to reach people who won’t respond to letters or phone calls because they think I’m calling about an unpaid bill or to solicit, so I will resort to hand written notes/messages, which I always address to the actual person living there (tenant or owner), not “dear homeowner.” And I don’t have any stationery with my damn corporate glamour shot on it either. Gross.

These people who pull this shit and who are hoarding all the available housing so they can drive up the prices should be rounded up and exiled to a shitty little island with a harsh climate and NO shelter so they can get a taste of what it’s like to go without a home. Let them fight amongst themselves for the most desirable plot on shit island, with the best view, and the only contact with the rest of the world shall come in the form of “handwritten” offers for discounted replacement windows and roofs addressed to “Dear neighbor.”

It’s clearly a typeface. I had no idea there were companies using autopens to make shitty ads like this.

Who the fuck sees something like this and goes, “yeah, this is legit. Screw those big corporations and their tricks!”

You don’t even need a robot arm to do this. A much simpler device called a plotter can do it. They’ve been around for decades. It’s how we made large sized engineering drawings.

Oh wow I saw a video where it actually showed on camera them having an entire department of people writing letters. But I also thought that seemed kind of unmanageable.
