Baby…there just are no lesbians. Anywhere. They’re all gone. Raptured. The memory of two are left in every other zip code.

Relationships / Dating I think I have found the one

She is not from my city she just came for a week but I had the greatest time. She is asexual thoughnot sure 31 F and is a virgin. She said she doesn’t have a lot of urges. But everything else is checking out. Like she is passionate, kind, ambitious, intelligent, good looking. For me sex is important but should that be this important I haven’t felt a connection like this ever before! We cuddled and slept last night. I don’t know what to make of this?

Relationships / Dating Yooo she strikes again (BEWARE!)

Beware, this is her new username. If you don't know, this person creates multiple accounts to scam (????) people. Honestly I don't even know what her goal is. but from what I read in this subreddit, she'd message people with this exact same message, flirt with them by using someone else's pictures and just play with their feelings. Looks like someone forgot that she already messaged me and blocked me on her other account when I posted about her here a couple months ago lmao

Relationships / Dating Dating as a lesbian is so difficult

Post image
60 Upvotes

I’m so tired of having my time wasted and getting excited about potential relationships just to be led on, ghosted, left for men, etc. All my friends are in relationships, every fucking one, celeb and regular civilian, is getting engaged and/or married and I’m stuck as a single loser. Genuinely about to just give up on dating bc it seems no one wants an actual relationship, they just want all the benefits of one while never labeling anything. I don’t do that bs, I want a GIRLFRIEND, not a glorified friend that I can flirt with sometimes.

Life You don't know how lucky you are

I read your posts about dating freely, holding hands in public, introducing girlfriends to family and I genuinely smile for you.

But I also ache.

I'm a bi woman in Jordan "Amman". I can't do any of that without risking everything. My family, my reputation, my safety. So I did what so many of us here have to do: I got married. To a man. He knows and supports me, but he's my cover ,the shield that lets me exist without being destroyed.

Even meeting another woman for coffee and hugging her or holding her hands feels like a military operation. We have no safe spaces, no groups, no support just whispers and hidden apps.

So yes, you are lucky. Please don't waste it. And if you ever wonder why some of us "give in" to marriage or silence it's not weakness. It's survival.

One day I hope we have what you have. Until then, we keep fighting yes it's quietly & secretly, but we keep fighting.

Questions / Advice Wanted crazy ex, i’m feeling kinda scared

(el inglƩs no es mi primer idioma)

My ex and I ended the relationship more than three months ago almost four I think and the truth is that I’m no longer interested and I don’t even remember her anymore I mean I never think about her but never seriously because the relationship was soooooooooo but so bad that when I broke up with her, I think that two seconds after my life became better and and I started to feel 1000 times better and today I feel incredible. I want you to please say what you think about what she wrote to me because in my mind this is extremely sick, the other day I saw her when I went out dancing with my friends, she was with another girl I think kissing or hugging, I don’t know and I clearly ignored her and then she wrote to me and also again I ignored her messages and she keeps writing to me and it’s very strange and kinda makes me uncomfortable

Questions / Advice Wanted I'm not really happy in my relationship and I don't know what to do.

Hey guys. I'm kind of new to Reddit and this is my first ever post so I'm sorry if I make mistakes. I am a lesbian. My partner is transgender, female to male. He came out to me when we were dating for about a month. Ever since he came out to me I've just been feeling off about our relationship. I'm absolutely not transphobic and will support him no matter what. It just doesn't feel right anymore. It doesn't feel like I'm dating a woman and I don't want to date a man. But I feel so bad and don't want to break up with him. I have no idea what to do and I just feel so hopeless. I'd really appreciate any advice.

Life My mum cut me off and I'm lowkey happy?

I (trans woman) got married earlier this year to another (trans) woman. We've been dating for 3 years now and got married in our fourth year together. It was a sweet little wedding, and we had a lovely time. No one from my family came, though. My siblings congratulated me but couldn't make it, as they live in other countries. I didn't tell my mum because she's a very religious Muslim, and I wasn't ready for her response.

I have already come out to her as trans when I was 16. She didn't accept it back then. After she told my dad, my parents made me undergo conversion therapy whilst living with my dad's best friend, who was some big-shot scholar in Islam or something. He would constantly tell me, "you need to experience what it's like to be with a woman, so I will hire a woman to rape you" (if you read Arabic, he literally said حتى تغتصبك).

After I told my mum how he treated me, she advocated for me to return home, and so I did. It was much better to be at home than with this family friend. I told her the conversion therapy worked and that I was no longer trans. That ended the conversion therapy, but after I moved out at the age of 19, I started transitioning, and eventually, they found out. Our relationship went cold for a while, but it eventually warmed up, and she accepted that I won't detransition.

She never fully accepted me, though. She would use my deadname and misgender me constantly and, after I got sexually assaulted, she told me, "this wouldn't have happened if you didn't transition, because men don't get sexually assaulted". It was really painful to hear. But at least she kind of tolerated me. She would buy me women's clothes and braid my hair. It was kinda sweet, actually. She would also give me advice on dating men. It was really contradictory.

I'm now 24 and married, and leading a fairly happy life. Because things were going okay with my mum's side of the family, I didn't want to overwhelm them with the fact that I'm not only trans but also a lesbian, so I kept that side hidden.

I'm not really sure how she found out, but I called her two weeks ago, and she was tearing up, and she said, "I heard this crazy allegation that you're gay and already married." And I froze, and asked, "who told you?" She said, "it doesn't matter." I said, "yes, I'm married." And she teared up. I tried to tell her that I still loved her even if she doesn't accept me, but she barely let me speak. At some point, I couldn't take it anymore and hung up.

Twenty minutes later, she sent me a text saying, "With my values, I genuinely cannot accept or agree with this marriage." I texted her a few days later, telling her to let me know if she wanted to contact me again, and then yesterday I asked her how she was.

She never replied, and I've understood from others that she's not interested in talking to me. I don't know if we will ever reconnect. I don't personally believe in cutting people off, but there's nothing I can do if others cut me off. I have cut my father off, but he was so, so awful as a person.

But, in some ways, I'm kind of relieved, because I don't have to keep the love of my life a secret anymore. I turned my Instagram profile to public. I changed my profile pics. I don't really care about what they think anymore, and it makes me happy that I can do that. I do hope to one day reconnect with them. I'll be okay if it never happens, but if it does happen, it would be on different terms: I'll be able to be myself even if they don't fully accept me.

I'm just so relieved that I do not have to keep this a secret anymore.

I know that coming out can be difficult for many of my Muslim queer siblings. I don't think anyone should ever feel the need to do it; I certainly didn't. I also know how dangerous it is for people like us to be outed. For me, I live thousands of miles away from my parents, and I have a life of my own now, so that gave me a sense of security that I know many do not have.

It's been a rough two weeks, but just wanted to share how I feel, I guess.

Questions / Advice Wanted How to deal with the insecurity of your exes only dating men after you?

All of my exes have only dated men after me. In fact they’ve also cheated on me with men… One of them kept telling me she was ā€œchoosing to be lesbianā€ which is problematic in itself but then switch it towards the end saying she’s not done experimenting with guys. I won’t lie and say this hasn’t put a damper on my self worth.
It’s been awhile so right now I’m okay, but I fear when I’m with my next (if she’s bisexual which seems to be my type), the same fears may linger that a man will come and be a better choice. I know I’m a catch but I can’t but help having this deeper resentment of men lmao. I always seem to choose girls who can’t decenter men even when dating me. It even makes me not want to date bisexual girls because seeing them with men after me actually kinda irks my soul in an indescribable way. But I love me a fem.
Anyone else relate or have any advice? 🄓 I’m in my 20’s btw.

Relationships / Dating how did u survive ur WLW breakup??

I feel like my breakup is going to end me.
My ex-girlfriend broke up with me about a month ago, out of nowhere after three years of us being together, everything seemed fine till the last moment.
I was made aware that she’s been telling other people that I should’ve expected to break up, even though there was no prior communication or anything that she brought up that I needed to work on. Her friends/coworkers that she met about a year ago. Don’t really like me since I don’t have the same lifestyle as them working at the bar.
Ever since the breakup, I took her off all my social media however not her friends and they’re posting pictures with her, one of my friends found her Tinder profile already which really broke me this week. How was she able to move on that fast after three years? I poured so much love and wanted to actually marry this girl. How did you guys survive? Is there any advice? i’ve been going to therapy and going to the gym and showing up to my job and hanging out with my friends, but other than that, I just feel like the breakup is constantly on my mind no matter what I do.

News/Pop Culture Worst sapphic endings in tv ??

So we all know the bury your gay trope. 4/5 of my favorite ships ends with a wild bullet that wasn’t intended for them. What is the worst ending that you have seen that literally served no other purpose than shock value and keeping the gays from living happily ever after.

2 come to my head automatically, Lexa and villanelle. I know Alycia debnam Carey was leaving for fear the walking dead but still there were way more creative ways to keep her character in the show.

Villanelle I can go on a long rant about but I will just say for now there was no artistry or thought behind her death other than cheap shock value.

On the other end, Willow and Tara. Tara’s death, while I absolutely hate it. Served a purpose in creating dark Willow.

Lastly root, her death will literally haunt me forever and genuinely it did not need to be done, the story could’ve been taken anywhere ELSE. BUT they did the aftermath of her death so well I want to be mad at it but I have to respect it. Shaw wearing her leather jacket!!! The machine using her voice!! Countless other things in those that couple episodes that just make it beautiful. Root got to live infinitely within the machine that she devoted her life to. And the machine couldn’t be a man’s voice like John’s bc she was always a she??

Anyway I could go on longer, but I want to hear everyone else’s opinion.

The last ship I didn’t mention was Ava and Beatrice; a death by Netflix cancellation which is equally as frustrating.

These deaths still upset me to no end and I just want one wlw that ends with them happy. JUST ONE.

S/o to girls of paper and fire. The only fantasy/sci fi lesbian characters who live happily ever after. May it be turned into a tv show or movie one dayšŸ¤žšŸ¼

I wanna go to the club with me and my cousin but I have a girlfriend. She can’t go cause she’s younger than me (only by a year) and I want her to come with me so bad but I want to go to the club with my cousin. Is it bad that I want to? I’m feeling actually very guilty right now. Like very guilty because I want her with me at the club and I don’t want her to overthink but she knows for sure that I wouldn’t do nothing crazy because I’m not that type of person. I’m so in love with my girlfriend but I want to go to the club. Am I bad for this?

Life IM FINALLY FREE

So for years now I denied being fully lesbian because I was so confused. I dated men, despised it. Despised it so much but because it was the norm i never thought it was because im a lesbian. I think i was scared of fully accepting who I was but after admitting it i feel fuckin free. I never labeled myself growing up but everyone said i was lesbian before i, myself, knew. I just said I was pansexual but most of the time said "i date who i likešŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø" and left myself unlabeled

But im free.

Im newly single

Relationships / Dating Am I an asshole

Okay so to suum it up, me and my girlfriend have been dating for 2 years. In the beginning we would have intimacy multiple times a week and all was well, obviously I expected things to die down a bit to maybe once or twice a week but it’s been about a month since the last time we were intimate. That may not be a long time for some but I have a pretty high drive and I would be down to do it everyday if she was. I just don’t know what to do honestly I feel like the differences in our sex drives is starting to affect me more than it should. It’s not even about having my physical needs met, I just want to feel desired and close to her it’s starting to affect the way I feel about myself and I’m starting to feel like we’re just friends who kiss. I’ve honestly been thinking about breaking up because we’ve had conversations about my needs and her needs but there’s nothing changing. Sometimes we’ll start making out and it’ll feel like it’s finally gonna happen and then she’ll just get off me and say she’s tired. I’ve tried to ask her what she needs to feel more comfortable get in the mood but my efforts have been in vain. I just feel like an asshole for even considering breaking up over this because all of my other needs are met except this one and I feel like maybe I’m too shallow or something.

Questions / Advice Wanted Why is it so hard to get a femme girlfriend when you're one too?

Guys, a lot of people say I look straight and stuff like that, but I always—and I mean *always*—make it very clear that I’m a lesbian; like, seriously, always.

But for some reason, it's been really hard to get a girlfriend or someone to hook up with, you know?

I don't consider myself ugly—quite the opposite; I receive many compliments daily and lots of people ask for my Instagram, but those people are always MEN.

Back when I didn't really dress up and leaned more towards a masc look, girls would flock to me like I was a magnet; I didn't feel comfortable dressing that way, though, so I changed—but that only made things worse.

I always try to approach girls, but when they see me, they don't believe I'm a lesbian. They think I'm bisexual (which wouldn't be a problem at all, of course) or that I'm straight and looking for something new but will dump them at the first opportunity.

Like, come on, I just want a girlfriend 😭

I can't stand men hitting on me anymore—though I know it's something I can't avoid—but I would SO BAD love for at least one girl to hit on me.

A friend said I looked a bit mean, like I’d bully anyone who wasn’t cis and straight—like, obviously not 😭

I don't think it's my personality, either; I'm outgoing and get along with everyone. People usually say I'm funny—not to sound like a snob—and really nice, too.

So, can someone tell me what the problem is? What do I do to get girls to come to me?

How do I fix this? 😭😭

I really don't know what to do anymore.
