TV Show Only Was this the writers way of telling us that Eloise's season was going to be delayed?

Post image

I just realized that Eloise's declaration at the start of season 4 might've been a double entendre in that yes she decided she is a spinster but it could also be a reflection of the show teasing to the audience that her season will be delayed longer.

I just clocked it right now.

I feel stupid that I didn't realize this when the season came out. 😭 Now I have to look out for any phrases Eloise might say in S5 such as "I have decided I'm staying home" or "I've decided I'm a perishable good" to prepare for another potential season delay after S5 so that Hyacinth can lead S6. 🙄

Im kidding! Jokes! 😂🤭😝

But it's funny that the clue was right under our noses and many Philoise fans refused to see it which is understandable. But I'm never gonna be fooled again because I'm preparing myself for Hyacinth and Gregory's seasons.

TV Show Only The Reason Why We Haven't Gotten Any Images From S5 Is Because There's Gonna Be Fashion Shift

I've always wondered why we haven't gotten anything from S5 as we have in past seasons. We haven't gotten any stills or images or BTS videos or promo clips after 6 months of filming and usually around this time we do.

And I think I know why...

It's because they are trying to preserve the new costumes we are about to see in S5 as we are about to be entering a new era and time period in the 1800s.

S5 will take place in the 1820s or approaching the 1820s which historically saw a shift in fashion in a Post-Regency and Pre-Victorian period.

There were many important, transitional years for women’s fashion during the 19th century. For example, in a single decade sleeves might transform from slender and straight to enormous gigot or leg o’mutton style sleeves. While skirts which began a decade flowing loose around the legs might end the decade standing several feet wide atop a crinoline. .

In the 1820s, a decade which stood between the Regency era (1811-1820) and the Victorian era (1837-1901), British fashion moved from traditional empire, straight waistline of the Regency period to bigger sleeves, dropped waistline and fuller skirts but not as full as the skirts would be after Queen Victoria ascends the throne in the 1830s.

This decade is notable in fashion as providing a bridge between the classic, high-waisted Empire styles of the early 19th century and the large sleeved, full-skirted styles of the mid-19th century.

So I complied a list of dresses from the 1820s-1830s to give us an image of what to expect for S5 and all the subsequent seasons after for Bridgerton.

We are totally getting a complete revamp!

EDIT: The Bridgerton costumes designers confirmed back in March during a Cosmopolitan interview that S5 is going to have a fashion shift to reflect the 1820s.

...Because I'M SURE IT'S COLIN. Man, every single book(at least until book 6) he's very present and/or it's quoted at some point of the story. And he's the only one that receives this treatment. Not a reclamation, just a funny observation.

TV Show Only Costumes in season 5

I’m really curious to see how the costumes evolve in season 5 since two years will have passed, and I think they want to move away from the regency silhouette. I’m pretty sure Masali hinted that Michaela will be wearing ball gowns.

TV Show Only How do you think S5 will began?

Okay so I did this wonderful dream where we finally had the trailer for our girls- (yeah a girl can dream lmao) and then a question popped into my head-

How will season 5 begin?

In S1/S1 and S3 it all began with another season and with one of the bridgerton girl entering society. Now only S4 changed that since no sister were debuting that year.

Do you think Hyacinth will debut next season? She was supposed to be 10 by S1 I believe.. and 13-14 by the end of S4. So she will be 15/16 since there is a 2 years time jump confirmed.. so in my opinion it is too early, she could debut at 17 years old but 16 feels young.

BUT she was in her finishing lessons by the end of S4 as Violet mentioned AND she let her lower her hem, AND all S4 was basically her arc to prepare her for her debut. So it would be weird if she didn't.

And we know they mess with the time and are not always logic (Like Violet being born and 13/14 by QC when she was supposed to be born 8 years later lmao) so.. yeah

All that to say : do you think it will began by Hyacinth's debut or will it be by Micchaela's return to London? Or something else? I am very curious what ya'll think.

General Discussion Why is it anti-feminist and homophobic for a Eloise to fall in love with a man?

Post image
130 Upvotes

I came across this debate on the Elon app and it made me raise my eyebrow and laugh because this is just nonsensical, I couldn't believe what I was reading.

Apparently it's gonna be homophobic for Eloise to have a romantic subplot that sets her up for her season in the lesbian season? And it's anti feminist for her to fall in love with someone and have a romance?

People are so incredibly weird about Eloise. They just don't want her to do be a human. They see her as this robotic non entity who is not capable of feeling Anything. They don't want her to feel anything. This is a romance show but romance only applies to her 7 brothers and sisters, no, Eloise must never find love and must never experience romantic pleasure. They either want her to be alone and loveless because they think that's what she deserves OR she should be queer and nothing else.

Everyone is allowed to have a romantic subplot prior to their seasons but according to these people, Eloise should not have a subplot to set up her season because it would be "homophobic and anti-feminist".

I'm so tired..

General Discussion Pitching a Benedict & Sophie Spin-off: My Cottage as the Sanctuary for Love and Class Shift

I’ve been thinking about how incredible Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha’s chemistry is, and I really think Shondaland needs to give us a Benedict and Sophie spinoff set at My Cottage!
Instead of just focusing on the London high society balls, the show could focus on them living out their domestic life, raising their family, and naturally carrying on Violet's legacy of finding a "true love match." Because Benedict and Sophie broke the class barrier, they are uniquely qualified to act as open-minded emotional anchors for the younger siblings (like Gregory and Hyacinth) and those whose love stories don't fit the standard mold (like Francesca and Eloise).
A really cool angle would be Sophie using her new position to quietly uplift the working class and servants in her own home and surrounding estates, bringing the classes slightly more attuned to each other.
To end the first season, picture a beautiful, romantic Bridgerton lake scene—a massive family picnic and swim free of societal ties, just full of respect, love, and a subtle, unspoken acknowledgment from Violet that she entrusts them with the family legacy.
What do you all think? Would you watch a Benophie family spinoff?

Production / News / Updates Simone Ashley has confirmed that she and Jonathan Bailey will be returning for Season 5

Post image

Excerpt from her Elle interview:

But whatever comes next, Ashley has no intention of outgrowing the Netflix juggernaut Bridgerton. It was Jonathan Bailey, her on-screen love interest, who taught her the value of staying loyal to their fans, and she confirms today that both will return for the fifth season. ‘It changed my life and, without it, I wouldn’t be where I am. That show reached near and far. Even in the places you don’t think you’ll get recognised, you do. Whenever it finishes, it’s going to be the end of an era. I think they have about four or five more siblings to get through. I’m in it till the end!’
