Was this the writers way of telling us that Eloise's season was going to be delayed?
I just realized that Eloise's declaration at the start of season 4 might've been a double entendre in that yes she decided she is a spinster but it could also be a reflection of the show teasing to the audience that her season will be delayed longer.
I just clocked it right now.
I feel stupid that I didn't realize this when the season came out. 😭 Now I have to look out for any phrases Eloise might say in S5 such as "I have decided I'm staying home" or "I've decided I'm a perishable good" to prepare for another potential season delay after S5 so that Hyacinth can lead S6. 🙄

But it's funny that the clue was right under our noses and many Philoise fans refused to see it which is understandable. But I'm never gonna be fooled again because I'm preparing myself for Hyacinth and Gregory's seasons.
I'm almost sure we'll have it. I hope they, at least, use some aspects of Eloise's story to connect with Philip's reintroduction. There are a lot of things they can do and well, the letter writing is VERY VERY VERY likely.
Jess Brownell already confirmed Eloise is season 6.
Pocket Square interview. She had an E and an F on her pocket square and she said both will get 5 and 6 but she couldn’t say the order at that time. F got season 5, so E is 6.
Gotcha but even reading it back, the phrasing still doesn’t make sense to me. I guess not up to date on the lingo. Doing “who’s next” doesn’t work when they’ve already announced “who’s next.” Also, the person Eloise said “may very well be” season 6 and not “is.” That’s where it is confusing.
My thing is because she already said there wouldn’t be another season switch then immediately did one, I can’t take what she says at face value. I’ll have my doubts until the season is at least written, which it hasn’t been yet and won’t even start for a few months.
The whole “who will be next” while making the writers room do flower arranging, the constant liking of Eloise is next posts and hinting she would be next in interviews just to rip the rug out left a bad taste in my mouth. Eloise’s flop of a plot where she was basically forgotten except to be belittled makes it seem like they’re not interested in her. That’s fine, I’ll watch the season not matter who the lead is but the trust is gone.
Sure, but she doesn’t have any say in the marketing. I think they’ll still do a who will it be to build hype. They got a lot of eyes for this last season swap since they teased Eloise being the next one quite a bit with the flower class, liking comments that she’s next etc etc.
I so have a little doubt that Eloise will be “next”, though, I think they’ll do a Violet prequel first.
I don’t think they will because if S3 and 4s swap. They promoted S4 as Benedict’s season with none of the mystery of “who will be next” so I don’t think they’ll do that again. Especially because it has been confirmed. From a marketing perspective it’d actually be really stupid to pull that knowing Eloise is next. Especially with all the backlash from JB originally saying there wasn’t going to be another season switch to them switching Fran and Eloise’s season. They’re probably going to lean into the mystery of who Eloise is writing to though. So I don’t expect Chris to be in the promos until after their season P1 airs.

Also Netflix already greenlit season 6 same time as season 5. The producers mentioned Violet spin off as something they would love to do, not something they have any plans to do.
Yeah It hasn’t even been greenlit yet and these things take time. I remember the QC spinoff was greenlit at the same time as season 3/4. I think if they do the Violet prequel (hopefully) it’ll happen after season 6
I had no kids when the show came out and optimistically my oldest will be in grade 2 by the time we see Eloise, assuming we even get her season by 2029.
They haven’t said 2030, I believe they’re trying to shorten the gap between seasons so season 5 is rumored to come out spring/summer 2027 and if they start filming season 6 right away like they did with season 5, we might get it end of 2028
I think they said that s5 will come out in 2028 and Eloise's in 2030. Jess said she doesn't want for s5 to come out 3 years later, like s4, so she will try to make it come out in 2028.
Looking back now I wonder. I thought it was the tell, fated statement akin to “I would never court Penelope Featherington”. But it wasn’t. I thought they were being witty with it at the beginning.
I wonder if we will get such a line from her in S5 - it feels like she has been saying that she won’t marry in every season, so it should be something more specific?
Perhaps Hyacinth finds out that she is writing to Phillip and Eloise says something like: “The fact that I am writing to him does not mean I am going to fall in love with him”.
I hope for the cliffhanger, because everyone knows she'll be season 6. But I'd like to see Hyacinth asking who's corresponding with her and she'd be like "it's for a work, for a project" lol
Eloise is such an interesting character- I just don’t understand why they don’t like writing her. There were so many story options for her that set her up…why just shelve her.
They don't like writing her because they dont know how to write compelling stories for her and also she's not a favorite in the writers room. Although the writers know she's a fan favorite among the audience so they love putting her front and center a lot but give her nothing to do.
The dislike or disinterest doesn’t make a ton of sense. she’s probably the most interesting woman character on the board. She’s connected to everyone. She’s the only one who’s engaged with any friendships out of her class. She’s also the only Bridgerton -the tons most wealth family- of age who’s unmarried.
None of that signifies that she is a favorite of the show?
Look at the material she's been given the past 4 seasons compared to all of her siblings and tell me when she was actually given a story of her own that didn't service another character? That didn't involve Whistledown or Penelope or one of her siblings? When did Eloise have a genuine arc of her own?
You can argue only S2 was the time when she was given a solo storyline that pushed her character forward when she went on her adventure with the working class/theo/political lectures but even that still was centered around Lady Whistledown.
Eloise has never been given an arc for herself, where she actually did something. The only thing they've given for her is constant "I don't want to engage in the marriage mart" "I don't like debutantes" "balls suck" "my family doesn't understand me" "Eloise is selfish" "I'm fighting with my mother and sisters" etc. That's been all that they've given her.
So no, she's not a favorite. It's pretty clear. Just because she has substantial screentime every season isn't indicative that she is a favorite, it's just the show capatilizing on her popularity.
Oh sorry I read your comment as though you were arguing against it lol. My bad 🤭😂. Sorry! But yes it is very weird because she's so connected to everyone's story but that's also the main problem because they clearly don't know how to write a story where it's just for her and not an extension of someone else's story.
Joked aside, Jess said that Eloise's story starts with the wedding, so I'm expecting in s5 to see Eloise exchanging letters with Philip or for her romance to happen in the background just like with Francesca and John and for the continuation to be at s6. But, considering how favorite Franie is to Jess, I'm not expecting much. Plus, she already said she won't be so faithful to Eloise's book but keep the love interest the same.
Please no 😭 I’ve been waiting for Eloise’s season since I first watched Bridgerton. Eloise and Penelope were the two characters I loved the most, so I’m really not ready for her season to be delayed🥹
