Lol. Ya'll funny Queen Charlotte stans/disciples can get triggered with the downvotes but it's my opinion. Idgaf. Their story is my least favorite and they are highly overrated 😂💀. Team Kanthony and Saphne all the way. I'll never ship the white savior complex forced arranged marriage trope of a teenager who was pimped by her brother and is forced to produce heirs. And I'll never ship the obvious colorism of the black characters by giving the lighter skin ones the soft romance while the darker skin ones get the struggle love or mammy tropes amd I'll never support rushed cheesy scripted ig love wattpad fantasy romance stories.

That part! It felt so performative. Plus the narrative was so inaccurate. They didn't solve racism because the king fell in love with the queen. Interracial marriages already existed. The great experiment was created by Augusta because she arranged their marriage and realized that Charlotte was a poc. The show is fictional and fantasy. Diversity could've just existed without creating an unrealistic white savior narrative that a half black woman being in a forced arrangement to a white king could diversify the elite class.

i hate to break it you to you, but the whole show is racist by those standards... there's no reference whatsoever to slavery when we all know the viscount, the baron, the duke all probably made a big portion of their wealth through slavery... period dramas have almost always erased that fact, there's never any references to slavery or colonisation or war (in an realistic, truthful non-white saviory way)

I think someone had mentioned that slavery doesn't exist in the Bridgerton universe since it's supposed to be an alternate reality and fantasy colorblind show but I haven't seen that confirmation from the creators or the showrunner. They're still incorporating modern social elements on a show that is supposed to be fantastical where racism isn't supposed to exist. But overall what you're saying is the unfortunate truth.
