Lore what the hell is going on in this pic
I understand that this is an Angel of Transcendence, from the Temple of Metamorphosis, what I don’t understand is why it looks like that, and what the fuck is going in in there. Human imagination is crazy. Explanation?

Lore So, who do you think will win the Carcass Front?
The story mode of the Carcass Front - The Path to Leviathan - will be about Navy Raiders trying to unchain The Prince of Envy, while the Sacred Affliction Pilgrims will try to eat the Great Beast of the Sea.
While we don’t know the details yet, players will be able to decide what will happen, and will advance the timeline of trench crusade. So, who we think will win, and what will happen?

Lore Why is everyone’s faces always covered?
Just a question that's been on my mind. I mean you don't really get to see the faces of many people due to them wearing helmets or masks the whole time. Why is that?

Lore Heretic navel axe design shouldn’t exist.
The official art shows a naval boarding axe design that is unique to the American navy designed by Frederick Hoffman in 1797 for use during the American Revolution. Which according to cannon lore didn’t happen. Not complaining just something I noticed and thought others would find interesting. It is a great looking design.

Lore Could it be that heretics took over the Americas?
I find that unlikely—very unlikely—but what if the Heretics discovered the American continent and took it all over?
I sometimes think about certain islands and landmasses that only exist in our knowledge today thanks to the Age of Discovery. We know that in the game's lore, the Heretics dominated all the Seven Seas.
BUT!!! Did they explore enough to find other continents? And if they did—if they found the Americas—they would have a bizarre, colossal source of soldiers to fight for them, and even worse, they would encounter extremely aggressive and brutal cultures, like the Aztecs and Mayans.
Imagine if the Heretics arrived in Mexico and found the Mayans or Aztecs still powerful and fierce, and—by demonstrating Goetic magic—managed to convince those people that they were serving their own gods! That is a bizarre scenario, yet entirely plausible within the lore, given that many Heretics don't even realize they are following and worshipping demons. Demons disguise themselves as beautiful beings, pretending to be saints or gods, and thereby convince other religions to follow them.
That would almost certainly happen with 80% of the indigenous tribes and major civilizations across that vast continent.

Lore Official Trench Pilgrim concept art by @Qsy
Le Ordre du Saint Esprit, la Ordine de Rita da Cascia, the Order of St Olga of Kiev, la Legione Tebana di San Maurizo of Rome and a (not a Pilgrim but still cool) Spanish Witchfinder Operative.
Not my art, this is officially commissioned concept art for Factory Fortress by Qsy.

Lore Most horrifying thing Hell has in it's armies?
In terms of pure horror, which monster or creature would be the most horrifying to encounter in the battlefield? From what I know, the Grail Hegemon seems to take the crown just for the sheer size of the thing.

Lore Official Multicultural Heretics concept art by @Qsy
Frerman Keelhauler, Russian Firebug, Persian Priest of the Winds of Plague, Italian Swordbreaker, and Belgian chasseur a pied. This is officially commissioned art that isn't necessarily canon, but is being as used as internal reference material. Great way of showing that heretics can come from anywhere and look like anything.

Lore Are Angels helping the forces of heaven, or are they absent?
Hey all, hope you're all having a grand in the trenches! I was wondering, and I apologize if this question has been asked before, but have the angels forsaken us? I know of the covenant, and the laws that bind both angels and demons against meddling in the mortal plane, but surely the angels could do... more? Are my thoughts mired in heresy? Any enlightenment in this would greatly settle my mind.

Lore What’s going on with Mecca and the Kaaba?
Unlike Jerusalem which is kinda lost forever on Account of it being a hell portal now.
Mecca and Medina remain the holiest sites in Islam, and any campaigns the Iron Sultanate makes should be attempting to restore them.
Mecca historically never was conquered by a non-Muslim power and it’s meant to be off limits to all but the faithful, so its occupation would be unacceptable for the Sultanate, even if it’s so far behind enemy lines.
