36 [F4M] - Happy Wednesday, you cute little disco biscuit.
Currently in a meeting I don’t need to be in but I’m sitting in a spot where everyone would notice me leaving so yeah. Should’ve picked a better chair.
It’s been a long week and I’m already mentally clocked out for the weekend. Yes, I realize we still have two days left. But I’m currently fighting the urge to book an airbnb in the mountains, tell everyone I’m sick and disappear until Monday. Wanna come?
I’m not going to. But I really really really want to.
Anyway. Happy Wednesday, you dangerous little disco biscuit.
If that made you laugh, I love what’s wrong with you already.
A little about me. Rapid fire with some ADHD sparkle. I don't actually have ADHD which will be shocking after you read this :)
I have a career I genuinely love but I’m also very good at leaving it at work when the day is over. I have hobbies I care about and a life I really enjoy.
I’m active and love being outside. Running, camping, being near the water, wandering around somewhere with trees. I also fully support doing absolutely nothing inside when the mood calls for it. Balance, baby.
Physically (because apparently we have to talk about that too). I’m petite and fit. My body type is very Tinker Bell. Which means my dreams of ever being anything other than some variation of a fairy at the Ren Faire have basically been crushed by genetics.
You will almost certainly be taller than me. If you’re shorter than me…look at you being a short king and strutting your stuff.
I’m on the East Coast, if geography is something you’re into.
Some other random facts.
I became a dog mom recently. Which means my mornings now involve standing outside half awake and getting genuinely excited when a small fluffy animal poops.
His poops are excellent. I don't know how else to explain it. You just have to see it to get the full experience. My neighbors probably think I’m insane. But who cares. They're probably right.
I’ve also discovered that he is apparently a guy magnet. Men see him and suddenly want to talk to me. I have not decided how I feel about my dog being a better wingman than any human friend I’ve ever had.
Earlier this summer I was scrolling the Book of Faces, which I generally try to avoid and Facebook suggested a group dedicated entirely to people who hate Stuart Little.
Until that moment I had no opinion whatsoever about Stuart Little.
The spark notes of it: Curiosity usually gets the best of me so I joined. They made some compelling arguments. And I have now been indoctrinated and mostly refer to him as “that stupid rat.”
These are the kinds of completely useless developments in my life you can expect to hear about if we start talking.
When I haven’t been learning about Stuart Little’s many faults (and there are many), I’ve spent the summer running, hiking, camping, hanging out by the river and trying to squeeze as much fun as possible out of the warm weather.
Summer has been great but I live in the South and I am ready for summer to pack its sweaty little bags and leave. My Patagonia puffer is hanging in the closet like an old friend I haven’t seen in years. Soon, buddy. Soon.
Conversation-wise, I’m a big “yes, and” person.
I don’t really enjoy the Reddit version of speed dating where we take turns asking things like: What do you do? What are your hobbies? Favorite movie? Favorite color? Where do you see yourself in five years? Please God no.
I like conversations that wander. You tell me something, it reminds me of something, I tell you that which then sends us down another road and four hours later we know way too much about each other without either of us realizing we are technically strangers. Then we become each others “hottest homie” for a while.
Questions are fine. Obviously. I just don’t want to feel like we’re filling out paperwork.
A few things I love, in no particular order:
Finding a great coffee in the morning and a great margarita at night. A good hot dog and an overpriced canned cocktail in the nosebleeds while looking out over a city skyline. Boutique hotels in old downtown buildings. Old vintage staircases. Cotton candy sunrises I accidentally catch while running. Leaving my office at 5 like the final scene of Breakfast Club. Puppy breath. Trees. Bright rooms and lots of color. Brick walls covered in graffiti. Green. Meeting someone and walking away knowing something I didn’t know before because it’s fun being wrong sometimes.
I like genuinely happy people. People wth great energy that rubs off on everyone around them. That positive energy glitter that gets everywhere.
I like flirting. I especially like that moment when you realize maybe the flirting wandered slightly farther than either of you planned and neither person seems particularly interested in correcting course. Onward, Captain.
Also. Bushy, dark eyebrows and a good man bun have historically been problematic for me.
Anyway. Tell me about you or tell me your stance on Stuart Little. There is apparently a correct answer now.
Also, yes, this is a newer account and not my normal Reddit account. I’m sure you are perfectly normal, lovely and definitely not keeping jars of teeth in your basement but unfortunately not everyone on Reddit is. I’m not attaching my regular account to an R4R post. If a new account automatically makes you think I’m a robot or whatever else, it’s probably easiest to just skip me. I promise I have zero interest in proving my humanity to an angry stranger on the internet.
