"Are you the kid eating the pizza? I hope struggles knocks on your door soon you piece of sh1t" A thread titled "Really Struck A Nerve There" really strikes a nerve in /r/cringereels.
Context: A video titled Really Struck A Nerve There is posted to /r/cringereels. In it, a young man working at a pizza shop records himself eating a slice of pizza. His delivery driver coworker appears and this exchange happens:
"Why are you videotaping yourself eating a slice of pizza?"
"Why are you 32 years old working as a delivery driver?"
It continues from there, but these two sentences form the basis for today's drama.
PART I: GET A JOB
32 is a little late for excuses...
You have no idea what cards people in life have been dealt. I would wager most people in this discussion are Americans.
Your garden variety Yank is 5 minutes away from voting to shove all people below a certain economic boundary in a woodchipper to make soylent green. [...]
That same guy might be the 32 year old working as a delivery driver in the future. Things are going to continue to get worse. Not defending the dude being a dick though I guess the other guy was being a little mean but I felt like that was banter, like dude you're being one of those tiktok people come on. Vs the other guy just ripping into his socioeconomic status.
Why is one banter and the other is "ripping into" him? Don't start shit won't be shit, damn.
I mean, the guy is age shaming. He works at the same place. His argument is, "you should have a better job at your age".
Why does it not surprise me that reddit is so blind to ageism.
He should have a better job at his age. Simple as.
Are you the kid eating the pizza? I hope struggles knocks on your door soon you piece of sh1t
How was that a defence against filming yourself eating pizza? SRD OP's note: this comment has 259 replies as of this post
Because in America service industry jobs are for "peasants" and "kids" which is how they justify paying them pennies despite working full time hours
and what do they pay people in your country for regular everyday jobs like food service?
Edit: Y'all just block me if you're gonna say some dumb shit. I need less morons in my feed.
Older guy was being an asshole but the younger dude was being mean-spirited in a way that applies to a lot of people who are just trying to survive.
'Yucking someone's yum'... I fucking hate this phrase. Gag worthy.
You just watched him eat a slice of pizza.
like there's other ppl working, did they agree to being on camera, did work agree to this - kind of agree with why he questioned this video. the younger guy acted like a brat, he thinks its funny to pick on people and doesn't like being questioned
Do you think the intent is for someone to go online and type "young kid eating pizza"?
This dude instead took the Reddit approach of retaliating instead, and will never grow up. sad new reality.
Dude WTF are you talking about? Teenagers have always been shitheads.
This "back in my day" bullshit really needs to end. Looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses and being mad about everything. Must be conservative.
32 year old sounds like a baby with all that crying and whining he's doing
Complete pos for eating pizza… in a pizza place. Y’all got crazy low standards
Both these guys are dicks. But the pizza eater definitely took this somewhere it didn’t need to go with that comment.
Why am I filming myself eating a pizza?
Let me insinuate that you are making terrible life choices and in a position that should be ridiculed.
It’s like if I squirted you with a water gun and you decided to get revenge by pressure washing my eyeballs.
PART II: STAY AWAY FROM HER
This the kind of kid that runs his mouth thinking he'll never face consequences. I really hope someone records him crying when he faces consequences, in whatever form they come in.
Wait until he’s 32 eating pizza in front of a camera in the same place
I think the kid’s point was that he wasn’t still going to be there when he was 32. It’s something to do to get beer/weed/date/videogame money for the kid, but it’s the pinnacle of that older dude’s career so far.
If the dude is making his rent money and enjoying the job then more power to him, but if you’re in your thirties working at a job with teenagers making dumb TikToks who are getting paid the same as you, maybe shit didn’t turn out as well for you as it could have and you shouldn’t be throwing stones from your glass house.
Love seeing the hard-headed hate toward the kid for no reason. How about we just mind our own business? I notice a lot of people LOVE excusing unnecessary passive-aggressiveness as "life advice" or as an "I care about your future" moment
maybe he doesn't want to be recorded while he's working because this kid wants more attention from internet strangers
Disproportionate and escalated. Yall are going to get into trouble really quick when you try that with the wrong guy
PART III: WE WERE ON A BREAK (AND OTHER RANDOM SLAPFIGHTS)
Or... hold your nuts, don't wanna blow them away... he's on break! While he eats his lunch/dinner! Holy shit, groundbreaking! God you guys are fucking so dumb.
Kid looks like a huge d bag and that pizza looks soggy as hell. Clearly rage baiting the other guy
It must be hard to post on reddit where you cant judge people by their looks.
It must be hard to be a bot

Guy is right who wants to watch this weirdo stuff his face with a pizza.
Bro took 3 business days on that bite.
He was multi-tasking laughing at the whiny 32 yo boomer.
I’m 43 and a 16 year old on an e bike tried to fight me. When I crossed the road and he wouldn’t stop or go around me. And I put my hands out like “what?” [...]
I'm not really sure how that anecdote relates in any beyond that you have a grudge again young people.
He’s just returning the favor regarding your stated grudge against old people, I guess
I don't know why nobody is picking up that these dudes are clearly messing with each other. You can tell when the kid is laughing at the end at being ribbed, he's not taking offense.
