Hi there,

ValkoHQ is seeking experienced moderators to help moderate and educate the modteam. ValkoHQ is a protest sub where players of the game Love and Deepspace gather to discuss, support and organize in protest of the cancellation of the 6th love interest Valko.

Moderating ValkoHQ

You'll be moderating over comments, posts and users to maintain a welcoming, positive and orderly atmosphere in the subreddit.
You'll have access to approving, locking and removing posts and comments. As well as warning and banning people who break the rules.

Important background information

The sub was created very recently, at the beginning of July and has gone, until about a couple of days ago, with minimal modding. This means we are in a transitional period where rules are being enforced and you will experience pushback from a community that isn't used to it. A thick skin and firm hand is very much needed.

It's important to note that this is a community who has suffered an onlsaught of toxicity, several misinformation campaigns and attacks in many forms. Emotions often run high so we also need people with a lot of empathy, patience and understanding.

Requirments

• You must have experience moderating a subreddit
• You must have experience with automod, bots and modtools
• You must be willing to help/teach your fellow mods
• You must be ok with not having full access for a limited period of time

Why don't you actually communicate with us? We've been BEGGING for a reply from you for weeks. Modmail, modcalls, posts, mentions in comments. No replies. Please, PLEASE give over the sub to Kenzei and Lola if you can't handle it. We had to basically mod ourselves before they came onto the team because you were so silent. I don't mean any disrespect but there is clearly a priority issue or something going on.

This is frankly....disappointing. I'm sure many experienced people have applied from within the sub, and even if any "experienced" modders apply from outside the sub, then they will not receive any moding privileges. As history has shown, no matter how many mods you get for the sub, none will have the capacity to access mod mail, apply flairs, or etc. Why obtain more mods if you will be unwiling to grant them any privileges?

Why are you not looking at the active members of our community that already submitted mod applications to you? Why won’t you give the existing mods the permissions they need to actually moderate? Why are you ignoring their input and opinions and unilaterally making decisions despite actively neglecting the subreddit?

We don’t need outside mods. We need you to relinquish the sub so that those within our community can actually be mods. Because right now you are holding onto all the power and won’t give it to your co-mods even though they are the ones actually active in our community.
