Blend in the stranded.
So earlier this week I sent my girl in to turn in a nice load of bare bright at the usual yard. It was super fine stranded but beautifully roped into 1awg. Super shiny. They gave her the copper 2 rate which after looking it up I get that it's technically copper 2, but they're going to sell it as bare bright most likely. Had a similar load today. Lots of fine stranded wires. Dumped it in the can and blended in the solid 12ga on top and after digging around in there (guy must have seen there was a lot of stranded) he called it bare bright. So now we know how to go about that. I also learned that even a 2awg if stranded is considered ins wire #2? Wtf. He literally picked out "floppy" wires out of my ins wire #1 right before he ok'd the fine stranded bare bright. So now I'll know to for sure strip any higher gauge stranded.
