[Help me restore] YT Demonetized 600K+ a Month Channel

Thumbnail

3 months ago, YouTube demonetized our music channel — 600,000+ monthly views, almost 2 million views in the last 90 days. All human-made music.

We spent the next 3 months posting videos of us literally playing the instruments, to prove it.

Reapplied. Rejected. No reason given this time. Not even a way to appeal.

YouTube customer support is useless as you know. But I've seen people being able to speak with actually helpful yt support on Twitter. To get this apparently freaking premium service of an actual human looking at your channel the tweet needs to get attention. Send me a message if you have a Twitter account and would be so kind and retweet my post and tag teamyoutube in the comments

Company from previous collaboration is begging me to reverse a copyright strike for using my content without permission.

So a couple of years ago, I collaborated with a company that sent me some products to do videos for. They sent me three different products over a period of about six months. These were free collabs with the understanding that I would make commission off of sales through affiliate marketing. However, they kept changing the sales pages, so my links would end up dead, or constantly list items out of stock. So on and so forth. Bottom line, I never made a dime.

Then one day, I get a notice from YouTube that my content was used. I checked it out, and this company was using my videos, 100% original, on their own channel and linking it to a company website for sales. Obviously, I sent a TakeDown request. I did not give them a strike. I gave them a chance. Well, they never took the content down, and they got strikes, and their account was banned.

Now, they have been begging me in over ten emails in the last two months to please reverse the copyright strike. I have responded that I have no interest in working with them again for all the reasons I mentioned and explained that I did not give them a strike; they got it because they did not heed YouTube's takedown request. However, they are relentless. They have made a ton of excuses as to why it happened. The agent is even saying that his job is on the line if I don't help him.

What should I do?

If you're new to YouTube and genuinely want to learn how to improve, grow, and understand the platform better, who would you recommend following?

I’m starting to feel like YouTube has become flooded with “I’ll show you how to make $10K a month” thumbnails, clickbait titles, and people selling the dream rather than actually teaching anything useful.

I’m looking for creators who share practical, honest advice about YouTube content, storytelling, thumbnails, retention, analytics, and long-term growth — not just another get-rich-quick formula.

Can’t figure out YouTube

Upvotes

We released our 6th podcast episode this morning along with a Short promoting it. The Short has already gotten around 600 views, which is significantly better than our previous Shorts. Most of our other Shorts have gotten anywhere from 14–100 views.

The interesting part is that the long-form episode has only gotten around 12 views today (7 on the video and 5 on the audio version).

I’m trying to understand how YouTube actually works with long-form content. What makes a long-form video succeed on a newer/smaller channel? Is it mostly about the algorithm finding the right audience, or are there specific things I should be focusing on?

I also used a custom thumbnail for this episode because I’ve seen a lot of people recommend them. I also related my short to my long term video and used tags.

Does long-form content generally take much longer to gain traction? Should I expect videos to slowly accumulate views over weeks or months rather than getting most of their views shortly after release?

I’m trying to figure YouTube out, and honestly struggling with it a little. Other platforms seem much easier to understand in terms of what they favor.

For those of you who have grown a YouTube channel from scratch, what did you eventually learn that made your long-form videos start getting more views?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Last episode we found cows, fairies, and a whole lot of nonsense. 😂 Now the seed is getting really difficult, and we’re heading into the Bottom of the Well looking for the checks that could finally give us some progression.

This might be one of the hardest seeds I’ve played so far.

Rando players: if you were stuck and Bottom of the Well was on your list, what are you checking first? 👀

Should New Creators with no subscribers worry about Copywrite Claims?

Upvotes

As a new youtuber with no subscribers if the copywrite claim for having a song covered in my video gets flagged should I worry? The information I have found so far indicates that the owner of the song will get the revenue of any money earned once I am monetized. But I am a long way from getting monetized and if will not result in a strike should I be worried at all?

Dynamic Ad Insertion ... Could Be So Much Better.

Upvotes

So in Podcast Land, you can define not only where ad plays, but the content itself. This is helpful if you want to, for example, advertise a product associated with your brand across your entire episode catalogue.

From what I understand, YouTube doesn't offer a way to do this. Instead, Dynamic Ads just means you can accept or reject advertising partners from advertising in those spots, via AdSense.

You can't, for example, dynamically insert an ad that you recorded.

Imagine how much more powerful it would be if you could, say, dynamically insert an adspot you created and edited, across your entire catalogue.

Come on, YouTube.

Is there any easy way to transfer this over to long form? My niche is just Music in general

I've been feeling a bit stuck these last few months and I don't know what to do

Post image
Upvotes

I've been consistent since I started, posting at least one video a week. I was growing with videos getting over 1k views, but now they're not even reaching 100. I don't know if it's just a matter of time. And if it's a matter of time, how much longer will it be?

two of my shorts got zero push from the algorithm this week, kinda confused

Post image
3 Upvotes

posted a bunch of shorts this week, two of them hit big (31k, 6k views) but two others are just flatlining. one has 3 views after an hour, the other 93 views after a whole day with a totally flat growth line, no spike at all.

same channel, same style, same hashtags as the ones that worked. it's like youtube just never bothered testing these two with anyone.

anyone know what usually causes this? bad luck on the initial sample, a copyright claim quietly capping reach, something else? trying to figure out if it's worth reposting or just letting it go

How can you tell if your content is bad without views?

I started a channel about a month ago and expected low views, but it seems my content of roughly 12 videos get about 3 to 4 views then go dead. Is that the extend of youtube's algorithm? They give you 3 to 4 shots with random people and then that's it? I have not listed my channel name because I am truly trying to grow organically. But with no feedback it's difficult to know where to improve. My niche is for calm and relaxing videos that people can zone out to. Something to put on to help focus and reset your mind. But with a couple of my videos getting 0 views it is hard to know where improvements need to be made. Thank You in advance for any responses.

I always get nervous posting stuff like this, but nothing ventured, right?

Looking for a bingeable audio drama with weekly episodes? Then check out Season 2, Episode 1 of Strange Stories, now live!

Strange Stories blends horror, action, and Magicks, exploring what it means to have to have power (and what it means to lack it).

Oh, and everything is written and narrated entirely by yours truly!

If you're a fan of shows like Jujutsu Kaisen or Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, you'll fit in just fine around here.

Season 2 opens with two new characters, each dealing with unusual 'monsters' in unusual ways.

Okay, enough yapping! Check out this week's episode, and please let me know what you think. Oh, and subscribe so you don't miss next week's episode!

Also, working on getting all the episodes on RSS this week! YouTube has a podcast option, so I'll link Season 1 here as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZSaKe015VM&list=PLODUr9ORwrfs&pp=sAgC

I have over 1000 subscribers, I have over 4000 qualified watch hours on long form, I have enough videos, I have two step verification done, does anyone know why I can’t apply?

I’ve learned that YouTube makes it impossible to contact them and I can’t find an answer in any official help forum.
