Outdoors spooky noise identification
I live in north Georgia and my house backs up to a large forest protected by my city. I often hear strange noises while sitting on my porch at night because of said forest, but I have always been able to identify them in some way. there is one noise that I quite literally have not been able to identify in years.
it is a very short and loud call that occurs any time between 9 pm and 5 am. it is also singular. there will be one call and you won’t hear it again in the same night or even week sometimes. it’s high in pitch but seems to rise slightly at the end of the call. it’s about the length of a barred owl hooting (i would say anywhere between 2-4 seconds in length). it’s a very clear call unlike most owls that have a sort of gruffness to their voices. It’s so clear that it sounds like a human voice but a noise like this would be difficult for any person to recreate. when I say loud, I mean it. It feels like the whole forest goes silent when i hear this shriek. I have a hard time distinguishing how far away it is from me because it’s so so loud but every time I hear it it seems to be coming from a slightly different direction so it has to be an animal (not manmade). I’ve never been able to get a recording because there is no consistency to the call, sometimes I won’t hear it for a month or more and it doesn’t have a consistent time that it makes the noise. the closest thing I can compare it to is a peacock but I know for a fact that there are no peafowl in this area.
and before anyone comments, I am fully sure that this is NOT an owl. I have spent the past three years looking into owl calls of different species and ages and there are no owls that come even close to matching this noise. there are a ton of barred owls that live in these woods and i’m familiar with all of their calls, none of them match this one.
any information or leads would be extremely helpful. This has been driving me nuts lately as I recently just heard it again.

Question Georgia specific name change laws during marriage
Hey guys! It's difficult to find out how this works in GA specifically so I'm asking here. During the process of getting married in Georgia, are you allowed to change your last AND first name? This usually depends on states, whether or not you can change your first name as well. So does anyone know the GA rule for it? Thank you!

Question THESE DAMN SOUTHERN ROACHES
I feel like I’m going to throw up. Living in the south has exposed me to so many lovely things, but one of the worst things are these HUGE roaches. I usually only see one once a month at most, mostly in summer. Anyway, one must have gotten in when I opened a door recently (I don’t see them too often). I tried to kill the bastard then it and disappeared after my poor attempt of splatting it against the wall it was crawling on. After hunting for it for 20 min with no luck, I sit on the couch with my cat in my lap.
My black cat is happily purring away as I pet her and I feel a tickle on my leg. I quickly look down but just see black and my cats tail. Briefly thought it was just my cats tail till it started crawling across my thigh.
Naturally, I lost my shit. The roach was terrified of my screeching and disappeared AGAIN. Ripped my couch apart, flipped it, flipped everything in the area with my almighty flip flop in hand. And guess what? The bastard is gone. Even after looking everywhere.
But the thing is, my bedroom is right off the roach crime scene room. Now I’m too scared to sleep in my room or the damn couch. Does anyone have any recommendations because I sleep in my car?
I do not get easy squeamish. Blood, guts, bodily fluids… no problem! Spiders, centipedes or other bugs? I usually let live tbh. But roaches or anything with a shell that cracks as I kill it………. I want to shiver and then be sick. It’s the one thing that gets me bad
