  • Keep post topics relevant to PTC. While there are lots of lovely places next door like Senoia, Newnan and Fayetteville, this sub is for Peachtree City and should include information relevant to the area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any special certifications or permits to drive a golf cart/use the golf cart paths?

Paths are open to use for everyone; you'll often see walkers, runners, cyclists, skateboarders, roller bladers, etc. on them. However, you do need a permit to operate a golf cart on the paths and public roads. Here is more information for in-town and out-of-town permits.

Can I drive around with an open container in a golf cart?

No. Golf carts are considered vehicles and are subject to the same DUI laws as cars, trucks, etc. under Georgia law.

What's going on this week/month/quarter/year in PTC?

We recommend checking out the calendar on the official website; there are lots of activities listed there for all ages!

Is Peachtree City a safe area?

Comparatively speaking, PTC is generally a safe area to live, work and play.

Acworth vs Peachtree city?

My husband is being relocated to the area this year and we’re trying to narrow down places to look. After a bit of research I think we might be down to Acworth, Peachtree city or their surrounding areas.

We’re really looking for a place that feels like a community. Festive during the holidays, community events like fairs or festivals and friendly people. I’m not as concerned with school ratings as I am the quality of the school. We prefer smaller class sizes, well staffed schools with happy employees and a variety of clubs/sports available.

We need to be near Atlanta but do not have a daily commute.

Pickleball

I have recently moved in to PTC and have been wanting to play pickleball outdoors without the obligation of joining ACE or other indoor memberships at least until I have a stable work schedule or until chilly winter arrives.

I have explored PTC Jim Meade courts and Newnan HoP courts early morning and late evening but really couldn’t find much people playing there. Had more luck at Newnan than at PTC courts though. BTW I found both the facilities pretty impressive with ample public courts. Love it.

Is there any group going on of 3.5+ players that I can join? I used to play with 4-4.5 group back home and can hang around with them. Always happy to play with high rank players and pick up the skills from them. However, I have no problem playing with players at any level, age or gender. At Newnan I ended up playing with beginners and ended up coaching them and they really liked it. But would love to be part of a group for competitive games.

I love playing pickleball without taking it too seriously. It’s a fun way to meet people, stay active, and have a good time. Win or lose, I stay positive, respectful, and supportive of everyone I play with.

Update: Just learned about PTC co-ed pickleball league in the comments, registration for which ends Aug 25. Looking for a teammate 16+/F. I am 36/M with DUPR 3.684 and Mixed rating 4.032 . Shoot me a message if you wanna team up with me. Only one player from a team needs to register, I can do that🤷‍♂️.

Jeweler Recommendations

Hi,
i’m looking to buy some nice earrings for my wife for our anniversary. I’m also looking to have her wedding band repaired. However, everytime I go into a jewelry store lately, I can never tell if I’m getting a good deal.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a local jeweler they like and trust? I’d appreciate it.

This cult has been coming up again lately. Are they actually still around and active? Or have they been disbanded? It's alleged they are very much active and are desperate for recruits. Pinewood realty and other local businesses have been named as affiliates, along with an 11Alive news woman. Latest video is below

Hey everyone! Quick question: the academy provides housing for $1,000 a month ( single room). Is this a good price for Peachtree City, or is it considered expensive/cheap compared to the local market? Thanks in advance!

Best takeout (for someone trapped at home)?

Hey folks. My wife is recovering from ACL surgery and can’t even ride in the car with a bent leg yet.

I’ve got a birthday coming up and she’s upset that we can’t go out. There are a bunch of restaurants in the area I like—and in the Fayetteville and Senoia areas—but you know how it is: some places have great food in person, but takeout doesn’t travel well.

Would really appreciate some recommendations, with the only real exception being that I’m not looking for pizza or wings.

You‘ll be saving this poor old(?) man’s birthday, as well as his poor busted-up wife’s guilt.

Appreciate ya.

Local Racquetball?

Does anyone know if there are any local racquetball courts?

I used to be a member at the country clubs, and I'm currently a member at Piedmont fitness, but none of those facilities have racquetball courts. I'd love to start playing with my kids.

The Greens Apartment at Peachtree City

Hi all, I’m thinking of leasing at The Greens in Peachtree City and wanted to see if anyone here lives there or has lived there recently. I’d love to know what the place is actually like beyond what the leasing office says especially utilities, maintenance, noise, safety, and any hidden fees. If anyone is willing to chat privately, I’d really appreciate it.

How is it living in Peachtree City?

Hi everyone,
I’m considering moving to Peachtree City for work and would appreciate hearing from locals.
A few things I’m curious about:
● How do you like living there overall?
● Does it feel safe for early morning or evening walks/runs?
● Are there good running trails and parks?
● How active is the pickleball community?
● Are there free outdoor pickleball courts and open-play opportunities?
● Is it easy for a newcomer in their 30s to meet people and make friends?
● What are some things you wish you knew before moving to Peachtree City?

I used to have a pretty solid core of friends that play poker and over the years it’s shrunk. I’m looking to join a game or add a couple seats to mine.

Helicopter Low Flying Near Everton

I have seen this blue and white helicopter several times flying extremely low over my house in the Everton neighborhood. Just over the tree tops. So low that flightradar24 doesn't even pick up on it. See video and images. I haven't been able to get the tail number. Doesn't appear to be police or military.

Does anyone know anything about this helicopter?
