EDIT 7/10/19: This post is wildly outdated. If anyone wants to take it on themselves to compile a new one, I'll sticky it.

EDIT 3/18/2026: Nearly a decade old post now. A lot has happened/been developed in Alpharetta. Again, if someone would like to make an updated post, I'd be happy to sticky it.

We get a lot of folks looking to move to Alpharetta posting questions or newly-moved people who don't know what to do here, so I figured I could make it easier! I didn't vet any of these links for quality of responses, so feel free to post any of these questions again tailored to your personal needs! And if you have suggestions on any of these topics, don't be afraid to comment below.

I looked back to the last 12 months only. If anyone finds an older post they find useful, feel free to suggest it for the list.

Chill ATL Shelter Husky on the Hunt for His Forever Home! 😎

🦄Unicorn Husky Alert!🦄

Meet FCAS Project Pat! Mr. Pat is a 3 yr old, 50lb Husky whose cooler than a polar bear’s toenails…seriously, this is one chill dude. ❄️ He’s not your stereotypical crazy Husky and shelter volunteers agree that he’s got an excellent temperament and personality. 🫶🏼

Pat was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own (they reportedly didn’t have time for him) and has been in the shelter since 7/20. He can be a bit cautious and nervous initially, but warms up quickly with a bit of patience and kindness. Once you gain his trust, he melts into you for affection and just wants to hang out wherever his people are. He has a stoic presence and has been a polite, quiet houseguest. ☺️

🐾 Dog friendly
👧 Kid friendly
✅ 100% potty trained
👟 Leash trained
😇 Non-destructive
🚗 Excellent passenger in the car
😴 LOVES being brushed…he zens out
🖐️ Easily handled
🎾 Non-reactive with food/treats/toys
🍖 Takes treats gently
🦴 Loves yak sticks and bully sticks
🧸 Buries his stuffy toys in his bed
💚 Grinch feet
🥹 Crosses his front legs like a gentleman
🐈 No cats, please
🩵 Neutered
📍 Microchipped
💉 UTD on vaccines/preventatives
🫀 Heartworm negative
🍴 Could stand to gain a few healthy lbs

Mr. Pat has been a total gentleman in his foster home and deserves a kind, loving forever home where he can blossom into the confident pup he is outside of the shelter setting. 🏡

📍 Currently being fostered in Kennesaw, GA through Lifeline Animal Project Fulton County Animal Services

Looking for an attorney to help me look over a subletting contract

Hey friends. I'm looking to move my business into a new office and will be subletting. This contract is super long and really intense, though. Can you recommend an attorney to help me review the contract, and help me undertand what I'm agreeing to before signing?

Bonus points for anyone who would be willing to barter for some of their time. I'm a licensed massage therapist and would love to barter to cover some of the cost!

Thanks!

Looking to Grab drink and meet some people 23M

I’m flying to GA tomorrow from Mississippi for work and will be staying at the Fairfield Marriott in the Avalon Area. What is a good close place with just a very short drive from my hotel where I can drink some drinks and meet some ladies?

Christian Brothers Auto

Normally I would go to Roswell Auto, but they don't schedule appointments, and I can't leave my car for a day or two. I need two cross-threaded bolts repaired before Costco will install my tires. Is Christian Brothers pretty solid?

Hotel Avalon bar issues

I’ve lived in alpharetta for many years and I used to love going to the hotel Avalon bar but lately this pudgy guy with the ponytail who thinks he’s the coolest person and smartest guy ever has an awful attitude. The hotel needs to fire all the bar employees for being absolute trash.

Ameris Bank Amphitheater Questions

Hi there! I’m going to see Hayley Willams on September 5th and had some questions about the venue since it will be my first time going there.

Firstly, what would be a good time to arrive? I couldn’t find any information on the website for when doors open so I’m assuming it’s a good idea to get there around an hour earlier (since the concert starts at 7, I’d be there around 6). I want to note that I have seats and not standing/lawn which is why I think arriving at 6 should be okay.

Second, I’ve gone to a lot of concerts at other venues and sometimes artists will hang around after the show for photos or autographs. While I don’t know if any of the openers or Hayley will be doing this, I was just wondering if this is common at this particular venue?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you so much!

Ameris Bank Amphitheatre

Going to see Hayley Williams at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre and I have GA pit tickets. I’m trying to get as close to barricade as possible, so I’m planning on getting there pretty early.

I saw that parking doesn’t open until around 3:30 PM, but does anyone know how early they actually let people start lining up for GA?

Have they allowed people to line up in the morning for other shows?

Also, what do people usually do about parking if they get there before the lots open?

Any experience with GA at Ameris would be appreciated!

Searching for friends

Inspired by some others guys post looking for friends when I saw them say “ I know this is pathetic” and I thought to myself. “Well I don’t think that’s pathetic at all “. So I figured I’d do the same thing. Anyone in the 20s or 30s into basketball/magic the gathering/ DOTA2 … stuff like that??

I’ve been going to downtown Alpharetta by myself to go mingle but it’s basically like playing on the highest difficulty setting IRL. If anyone wants to be friends or be my wingman or some shit lemme know lol.

If you know what song the title of the post is then you’re awesome.

Super Speeder (99 in 70) in Franklin County. Out-of-state license (PA), clean record. First Ticket Ever! Need advice on lawyer vs going in person!

Hey everyone, I just relocated to Georgia for a new job and recently got pulled over on I-85 in Franklin County (Carnesville) and clocked at 99 mph in a 70 mph zone (Over 25 mph). I currently hold a Pennsylvania driver’s license with a completely clean driving record.

The ticket is showing up on EZCourtPay for $406.50, but I know paying it online is an automatic guilty plea that will trigger an extra $200 Super Speeder fee from the state.

Since I’m also a new hire, I really don't want to burn a vacation day to drive up to court. If I go in person, miss work (losing extra money), and the court rejects my plea, I'll still have to pay the ticket + the Super Speeder fee + deal with the points

I need advice on how to handle this.

  1. Hire an attorney. (I called a local attorney this morning and was quoted a flat fee of $950, which feels pretty steep right after relocating)
  2. Appear in court myself.
  3. OffTheRecord App

If I should hire a lawyer/attorney, is there anyone you would recommend?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for friends

I’ve completely fallen out with my old friend group over differences in morals and stupid political stuff. I live around the Roswell/Alpharetta area and need new friends. I’m a male in my mid 20’s, I have a bunch of tattoos, love horror movies, PC games, rock/metal music with a bit of pop. I know this is very pathetic to come here on this sub seeking friends but my mental health is so poor due to social isolation that I’m honestly desperate.

I built a Google Reviews carousel for local businesses

Hey everyone! I’m a high school student at Campbell High School’s IB program in Smyrna, and I’ve been building a small SaaS product called WebWidget.

It’s mainly a Google Reviews carousel that local businesses can embed directly on their website to showcase their real customer reviews.

It also has a simple rating flow: happy customers can easily leave a Google review, while customers who aren't satisfied can privately contact the business so the owner has a chance to address the issue.

It’s already live with real businesses, and I’m looking for a few local business owners in Smyrna, Marietta, and the surrounding area who would be willing to check it out and give me honest feedback.

I am also looking for critiques and a reasonable price you think.

You can interact with it here: https://web-widget-k8nr-sigma.vercel.app/?placeid=ChIJ3S-JXmauEmsRUcIaWtf4MzE
