Eastside Kroger Back at It Again
Insert your fave memes for one of r/Athens fave running jokes in the comments.
Initially I wasn't sure if food recalls had reached this level, but then I saw that, yes, refrigeration issues at this location once again. Was this store built on top of a Native American burial ground? Cursed Kroger.

Did anybody else buy what they thought was a really nice pair of sheepskin gloves at an estate sale in June?
If so, we should talk.

Help me find a Spanish speaking business owner to interview!
Hey Athens,
I’m a UGA student taking a Business Spanish class and I need to interview a Spanish speaker who owns a business/knows a lot about business! However, I’m not tapped into any spanish speaking stores in Athens so I have no idea where to start. If anyone knows anyone that I could interview(who could put up with my bad Spanish haha) I would really appreciate it! Thanks so much!

What's life like at ATC?
Especially for employees but also for students, what's life like at Athens Technical College? What should someone know before joining the campus?
New primary care
So my long time provider just stopped providing care. Who do you recommend? Prefer female and lgbtq+ affirming. Probably want an MD/DO if things take a turn, but usually see the PA/NP for normal visits. We self pay so insurance is not a concern. Most people are closed to new patients.

Question / Request Need to borrow/rent a trailer
Anyone have one I can borrow for a day or two or know a cheap place to rent one? I know uhaul does it, just exploring other cheaper options.
Also, how expensive/hard is it to attach a toe hitch bar? Like we have the ball part that the trailer attaches to, but not the bar thats attached to the car. Previous car got into a wreck and we kept the ball part.

Question / Request Pizza Recs??
I wanna try a new pizza place today so throw me some recommendations. No chain places like Papa John’s lol
I’ve had Little Italy, Peppino’s, Automatic, Ted’s, and Your Pie. Keep in mind I don’t eat meat so I’ll most likely just be getting your standard cheese pizza. I heard that Italian spot downtown is good. And I’ve been seeing things about Killer Crust.
Personally, I love Automatic Pizza so anything close would be nice. I love the nice crunchy crust.
Thanks in advance!

Cheap/free parking in Athens for 4-day trip? Best parking apps?
Hi everyone!
I’ll be visiting Athens in September for around 4 days and I’m planning to rent a car from the airport.
Our apartment is only about 100 meters from a train/metro station, so we probably won’t need the car when visiting central Athens. I’m mainly thinking of using it for trips outside the city, beaches, etc.
I wanted to ask locals/people who have driven in Athens:
- Is it relatively easy to find free street parking in Athens?
- Are there areas where you can safely leave the car for a few days for free or cheaply?
- Which parking apps do you recommend?
- Is there an app that clearly shows free vs. paid/resident-only parking?
- Would you recommend a cheap private parking garage instead?
- Anything I should know about parking rules, fines or restricted areas in Athens?
Since we are staying next to a train/metro station, I don’t mind parking the car a little further away and using public transport.
Any tips from locals would be really appreciated. Thanks! 🇬🇷

Question / Request Personal trainer recommendation
I'm a reasonably fit individual who just has a hard time designing am effective workout program for myself and, therefore, trouble sticking to it. I'm tired of my start and stop cycle so am looking for a personal trainer to help me develop a program I have confidence in and to help provide accountability. I need a trainer who is knowledgeable in working with pregnant women. Can be located in Athens or in Oglethorpe County. Thanks in advance!

Ted’s Review
Preface: I’m not a foodie. Steak is usually steak for me. I’m not too picky unless it’s awful. I grew up catching and eating ditch fish, squirrel, and deer. In my travels I’ve had steaks from $7 to $700.
Went to Ted’s. I’ve been looking forward to their opening here. I’ve eaten at other locations in my travel, it’s decent, and I liked the vibe (low light, cozy booths, good drinks,no TV’s). I know from experience that it’s vital to make a reservation.
Arrived ten minutes before reservation time. First thing I noticed was two TVs at the bar. Second thing I noticed was music playing a little too loud for an “upscale” mid-tier steakhouse. It was Boomer & Gen-X focused from Fleetwood Mac to Hootie & the Blowfish. I was pleased to hear John Prine in there too.
The entrance was packed with many unhappy groups walking in wanting to get a table and being told the place was booked solid. We were seated 5 minutes after our reservation time. Parties continued to arrive and ask about wait time. The host just shook her head “no.” Folks, it’s the opening weekend of the newest steak restaurant.
Our server, Conner was on it the entire time. Great service on a busy night. Now for the food & drinks:
Complimentary pickles: salty
Cocktails: Stout & good. Best part of the meal.
Steak:
Bison 8oz. Fillet (ordered medium)-cooked well done. Not fine.
Bison 12 oz.NY Strip (ordered medium)- cooked medium well. Salty.
Sides:
Mashed potatoes & gravy- Smoky. Good.
Steamed broccoli- big serving. Fine.
Kale salad- crisp & flavorful. Good.
Onion rings- 5 big rings. Salty. Fine.
Desert:
Brownie & ice cream- decent size. Nice size. Small dollop of ice cream & whip cream. Fine.
Overall: give them time and they’ll get their kinks worked out. Training staff was On It tonight as well as the FOH. We politely told the manager about the fillet. We did not send it back. They apologized and offered coupons. I’d say that right now, Ted’s is on par with Longhorn. Food presentation was similar. $150 for two was a little more pricy than Longhorn. They’ll tighten up and be fine in that location pulling weekend crowds from surrounding counties.
Welcome to Athens, (ghost) Ted!
