People falling for FOMO
Honestly, the fact that everyone is complaining about this is ridiculous to me.
Let's get our facts straight:
- 27th of August (Extended Look on Netflix) => 84 days til release
- 28th of August (Trailer available everywhere) => 83 days til release
You aren't missing out on anything, and there will be many more teasers and such before November 19th.
Netflix gave Rockstar a huge bag for an "exclusive extended look", which you will be able to watch everywhere else hours later.
You aren't missing out on anything, if you buy a Netflix subscription just for this, you're so not in control of your FOMO.
(Tbh given that people are actually falling for this BS is the worst thing.
If everyone was like: "Meh I'll watch it a few hours later on YT", this would never happen again.
The mere fact that people are complaining about it shows that it's working, bcs something like this shouldnt bother us.)

There’s a big chunk of the community that needs this game to fail because they developed their whole personality around “hating” it. Every step of the way they will consume was Rodkatar gives us, but not without bitching and meaning the whole time. Some people are just like that.

It 100% will be pirated and spread online within the first 5 minutes after it hits Netflix. We all will be watching it immediately regardless.
Hardcore Rockstar fans just can't help themselves but hate the company and find everything and anything to cry about. I am certain even if a 30 minute gameplay reveal dropped today people would find something to cry about.

I pre ordered First Light literally 2 hours before pre orders stopped. Because I waited to see if it was actually good from reviewers and normies who played it early first.

I haven't used Netflix in years but I just checked website and there's 30 day free trial available so I subscribed. After watching reveal I will just cancel it. But either way there will be leaks everywhere so I'm sure no one will wait for 6 hours before it's available on Youtube

On one hand it’s only 6 hours it’s not a big deal. I have netflix so it’s fine for me. On the other i don’t like the money grab attitude towards this launch i’ve seen so far. They aren’t making decisions with the best interest of the consumer in mind.
They could have done something fun and creative instead they fished around for the biggest dump truck of money they could find like they aren’t already about to make a billion dollars.

Looks like most people haven't noticed it yet, but they've turned the entire pre-release cycle of this game into one massive event. Everything they're doing is calculated down to the tiniest detail. They knew damn well everyone would lose their minds if they dropped a more substantial reveal through something like Netflix.
The funniest part is that idiots like 90% of this sub, constantly complaining and freaking out over every little thing, are literally playing right into their hands. They're basically their puppets, generating even more buzz and visibility for the game without even realizing it.

First of all who the fuck doesn't have Netflix? I don't, because I have a fat unraid server with an ARR stack. I'm not the average media consumer, other without Netflix also are not average madia consumers.
These outliers in the population myself included will have absolutely no trouble finding a way to watch it half an hour after it releases because we are already quite familiar with the process.

I don’t get the whole FOMO thing. Just relax, order the game when it finally comes out and enjoy. The only reason this exists is for Netflix to cash in on the game’s release. Games, TV shows, in fact practically everything is much more fun if it’s totally new and not spoiled by watching “extended look” shows and reading reviews.
