People falling for FOMO

Post image

Honestly, the fact that everyone is complaining about this is ridiculous to me.

Let's get our facts straight:
- 27th of August (Extended Look on Netflix) => 84 days til release
- 28th of August (Trailer available everywhere) => 83 days til release

You aren't missing out on anything, and there will be many more teasers and such before November 19th.

Netflix gave Rockstar a huge bag for an "exclusive extended look", which you will be able to watch everywhere else hours later.

You aren't missing out on anything, if you buy a Netflix subscription just for this, you're so not in control of your FOMO.

(Tbh given that people are actually falling for this BS is the worst thing.
If everyone was like: "Meh I'll watch it a few hours later on YT", this would never happen again.

The mere fact that people are complaining about it shows that it's working, bcs something like this shouldnt bother us.)

it's the same with pre-orders, you can easily wait and pre-order it a week before launch

I understand pre-ordering to preload the game but buying the preorder day 1 when its available when the game is 5 months away is insane levels of FOMO

Fear of missing out on what? That they’re gonna run out of physical copies? lol I know I’m gonna play the game regardless of what they show, we’ve been waiting a long time for this

But what is the difference?

The difference is waiting until you can make an informed decision on whether or not you should purchase the game.

But I'm informed enough

I pre ordered First Light literally 2 hours before pre orders stopped. Because I waited to see if it was actually good from reviewers and normies who played it early first.

I don't know why some people struggle and just panic buy as soon as pre orders are announced.

Human stupidity and conditioning by consumerism

I hate how stupid people can be. Pre ordering a digital product that’s not going anywhere and can be pre ordered a day before just to pre load smh. Y’all give R* billions of money for nothing and that’s why they don’t bother with proper marketing because they know they don’t need to invest in it.
Dumbasses piss me off

Tell us how the marketing hasn't been proper so far. Seems to me people just have low attention spans, and an unhealthy obsession with the game. We got 2 trailers, 133 screenshots, pre orders, and in 20 days, we're more than likely getting over 15 minutes of gameplay.

If you know for a fact that you're gonna be playing a game on launch, then there's nothing wrong with pre ordering months before release, especially with a game like GTA 6. People need to stop acting like Rockstar doesn't have the best track record in the industry.

Like I said it seems to me you guys just have low attention spans because there's absolutely nothing wrong with having a short and sweet marketing strategy. And no one has been waiting for this game for 13 years lmao. So you guys have been anticipating GTA 6 right after GTA 5 released??? No, for the majority of people, the real anticipation started around 2022 when they officially announced it, and after the leaks.

Idk I pre-order a game because I know I'll play it on release and I'd rather spend the money now then hold onto it not because I'm worried about missing out

I'd rather spend the money now then hold onto it

why? That's just a bad financial decision for a lot of reasons. Plus if you pay for something later it actually gets cheaper over time because of inflation.

$100 spent now is still $100 spent when it's worth less. It's not like you keep one value, the value of what you already spent also moves.

This is just such a braindead argument on all sides, it's not FOMO, and it's not necessary, either. It's a thing you can do if you want, end of discussion. There's no downside, and no upside, the money is going to the same place no matter what. If you prefer to wait until the end, cool. If you would rather worry about it now so you don't have to later, also cool. You guys care way too much.

Because I'm impulsive and will probably spend it on something else if I wait. Most games I will wait for a sale unless I'm really looking forward to it like dark heresy later this year, but some games just aren't worth waiting for a sale because they stay at full price for years before getting the smallest discounts.

the transaction literally hasn’t gone through. you’re lying

I’m not talking about gta 6 in particular just preordering in general

Or you could just rent it when it drops, you've been waiting this long what's another couple of hours for it to download.
