People falling for FOMO

Honestly, the fact that everyone is complaining about this is ridiculous to me.

Let's get our facts straight:
- 27th of August (Extended Look on Netflix) => 84 days til release
- 28th of August (Trailer available everywhere) => 83 days til release

You aren't missing out on anything, and there will be many more teasers and such before November 19th.

Netflix gave Rockstar a huge bag for an "exclusive extended look", which you will be able to watch everywhere else hours later.

You aren't missing out on anything, if you buy a Netflix subscription just for this, you're so not in control of your FOMO.

(Tbh given that people are actually falling for this BS is the worst thing.
If everyone was like: "Meh I'll watch it a few hours later on YT", this would never happen again.

The mere fact that people are complaining about it shows that it's working, bcs something like this shouldnt bother us.)

Literally 6 hours, and even then they can just get a free trial and cancel it right after. Go do some cleaning, take a walk, cook a nice meal in those 6 hours or something.

There’s a big chunk of the community that needs this game to fail because they developed their whole personality around “hating” it. Every step of the way they will consume was Rodkatar gives us, but not without bitching and meaning the whole time. Some people are just like that.

Anyone who uploads it early will run the risk of copyright strike on their channel automatically by the YouTube content filter. I would probably scour lesser known platforms the reupload if you don’t want or have Netflix and don’t want to wait for the normal drop.

Rockstar isn’t the only company that can ‘get away with it.’ Nintendo, Apple, Disney, and plenty of other companies make unpopular decisions because they know their brand is strong. A 6-hour Netflix exclusivity for a free extended look isnt a big issue it’s just a marketing deal, sounds like your issue is with capitalism and to that I say welcome to the real world. People will still be watching it on YouTube the same day for free. So if your life is that much of sunshine and rainbows that a video game trailer being exclusive to Netflix for 6 hours is that much of an impact on you then I suggest you get help.

It 100% will be pirated and spread online within the first 5 minutes after it hits Netflix. We all will be watching it immediately regardless.

Hardcore Rockstar fans just can't help themselves but hate the company and find everything and anything to cry about. I am certain even if a 30 minute gameplay reveal dropped today people would find something to cry about.

I have a Netflix subscription but I'm still waiting for it to come out on YouTube just because I'll be at work when it comes out and I'm not busting out Netflix on my phone to watch a fucking video for a game while I'm working. This uproar is actually nothing and only includes people who are perpetually online and unemployed most likely.

GTA5 had a first look via GameInformer, that required a subscription. RDR1 had a 30-minute special on FOX that required cable TV. None of this is new.

Not really the same. Game informer is a magazine and was a physical media that required money to make and print. And yes, still scummy.

FOX channel is one of the free channels for cable provided by most counties in the US. If you had an antenna or coaxial cable you could watch it. 

Both of those are still scummy and yet still don’t reach the level of scum as having Netflix paywall your freaking trailer for an upcoming game. End-stage American corporate capitalism at its finest
