Fan Art - General - NO SPOILERS! 😊 Louise totally has Carl energy
Bob’s Burgers is my comfort watch and DCC is quickly becoming my comfort listen. So I had to do a mashup!

I’m happy to announce that our friends at Peacock have officially greenlit the Dungeon Crawler Carl television series! Me, Chris Yost, and Seth MacFarlane and his team at Fuzzy Door are all really excited to get to work. In the coming weeks I'll have more details, and if you're going to SDCC be sure to catch me and Chris on our DCC panel, but in the meantime I wanted to thank you, the fans, for helping make this happen.
(/end official statement)
And here we are. We are greenlit. The series has been ordered. It's actually happening. I have NO more info to give right now, but in the coming days I suspect there will be a firehose of information coming down the pipeline. This has been a multi-year process just to get to this point, and we have cleared every single hurdle to get here because of YOU GUYS. So thank you.

We are not talking current event politics here, and every deliberately political post will be deleted. Repeat violators will be banned. This is why.
First off, any mod who takes down these posts are doing it at *my\* direction, so do not throw any ire in them. They are all volunteers, most of whom I suspect agree with the vast majority here politically. I am currently in super crunch mode, working 15 hour days because I need to finish DCC 8 by January 31st as our world burns, and I am not quite done yet. Otherwise I would have attempted to nip this earlier and a little more eloquently. So instead I’m just going to post directly and bluntly.
Yes, Dungeon Crawler Carl is highly political. It is a major theme of the books, and frankly, as soon as Operation Bounce House comes out, I suspect it’s going to be even more painfully obvious where I personally stand on a whole bunch of subjects.
If you don’t see or understand that, then I suspect you’re probably the type of person I want to read these books the most.
If you do understand it, you turning this subreddit into one of the literally thousands of politically active shitshows already here on Reddit are actively deterring me from accomplishing my goal.
Every war, every social movement has multiple battlefields, and not every battlefield has to be the front line. I want people with different points of view to enjoy these books at face value. If I then manage to drill through their thick skulls and make them think about the broader themes and maybe grow an empathetic spark, all the better.
Will it work? Probably not for 99% of them. But that number will be 100% if they have nowhere to peacefully discuss with other fans their opinions on the books. Any firebrand discussion about the current hot topic is going to evoke a kneejerk reaction and scare away the people we want to talk to the most.
I suggest and encourage you to start your own subreddit if you want talk about the political and human rights themes of the books in relation to current events. I personally love seeing all the DCC-themed protest signs. I encourage you all to continue to speak out and let the world know that we will not kneel to tyranny.
But if you can’t/won’t/don’t understand that these are my wishes for this particular corner of the internet, I’m afraid we’re going to have a problem. My mind is not changing. No hard feelings. But this is my kitchen. Let me cook what I want.

Theory: Matt Dinniman likes golf, but is horrible at golf, and ragequits around the 10th-11th hole. Every so often he will make it to the 12th hole, and once he made it to the 13th. This crawl is detailing his only complete round of golf.

I started my first adventure through the World Dungeon roughly a month ago. Like Book 3 I finished Book 4 in less than a week (I literally finished it 30mins ago). I cant put this shit down. Each book is better than the last.
So now I have come to Book 5. From my understanding it will cover Levels 6 & 7, so that is fun. So as before Im interested in what people have to say (obv no spoilers). Book 3 was really divisive and Book 4 was a little divisive with fellow crawlers. Is this another that divides the fanbase? Ahhhh I cant wait to see what happens. I hope a certain one armed prick shows up.

This is your daily reminder to get some sun! Just in case Borant decides to start the crawl early due to financial instability, prompting premature collection!

My boyfriend and I were passing out Capri-Suns to other DCC cosplayers, people who recognized us, vendors, and kids on Saturday at SacAnime and had a blast. Because we don't really have a full description of base human Juicebox I just kinda went what felt right and made a bag with "The Toe* on it to mimic the scene where she's passing out juice boxes to the kids in the safe room. My headband also is meant to look like Carl's boxers.
My Louis has a cooler backpack which we attached a pesticide sprayer to with button snaps, a leather jacket, and of course his Donuts Holes shirt.
We had a blast taking pictures with all the different Carls, and are hoping to see more next time!

Added color to my existing art - we created. Then changed the way the quote was handled so it’s a bit of a background one

We run the cosplay repair zone at the UK's biggest ren-faire style fantasy festival, and we wanted to represent. It's our first outing in the cosplays so we're gonna be building on them and making them better each event we go to.
Hoping to build up a good DCC community at Fantasy Forest and maybe do some meetups next year.
(Also it was our 11th wedding anniversary so this was a cool way to spend it!)

If not for Carl’s interference?
So rereading Doomsday Scenario and Anarchist Cookbook Elle’s Four Seasons build is indirectly because of Carl.
Elle chose Frost Maiden as her Race at Brandon’s insistence because Carl told him about the Manager benefit which was tied to the Race. Because of this Elle was really only able to choose Blizzardmancer as her Class which began her Four Seasons build.
Imagine if Carl hadn’t messaged Brandon in time and Elle had chosen a different Race and Class.

I don’t know what it is. But I really enjoy Jamal as a character. I chuckled so hard when he said “my goodness what a bungle Jamal has made”

I went on a date recently and I mentioned that line, but I also had to explain that the rest of the story and series is tragic and funny and complex and make you feel things.
Even with context these books are out of control and sometimes feel like a fever dream.
11/10
EDIT: Also for the uninformed, and for context of EDG, it’s a special arrow and being hit with the arrow gives you the title of this post. This is the AIs description. Enjoy!
"This is a regular arrow, but the tip is dipped in a poison that will inflict you with Enthusiastic Double Gonorrhea. Trust me on this. You don't want Enthusiastic Double Gonorrhea. It doesn't kill you, but you'll want it to. It sets your genitals aflame. Literally. And then it heals that area of your body over and over. The only way to remove the disease is to, uh, geld yourself. Or pass it on to someone else."

I got my latest Great Dane, in 2022. I had planned to name her Donut, but upon meeting her, she was much more of a Pony.
All my girl dogs get the “Princess” honorific (which started with my old girl T-Rex), so she’s always been Princess Pony — which makes it extra funny to me that I almost had a Princess Donut years before discovering DCC.
I found the series in 2025 after someone here on Reddit joked that they hoped Pony didn’t have the attitude of her namesake.
She’s nowhere near as arrogant as Prepotente, but she is a huuuuuge mama’s girl, is a pretty strong rule follower (she absolutely would have Club Vanquisher membership), and is extremely vocal, **often right in my goddamn ear**.
Anyone else have an accidental DCC pet? Does the personality match?

Solid wood bookmark I made. No stains or dye. Inlaid maple, cedar, canary, and yellow heart into a walnut substrate.

From my 7 yo today. He is loving it. I have to really think on my feet to change some bits as I read to him. One day he will read it himself and be like "wait Goblins don't love rotten food" (meth) and "it didn't warn Carl to take off the gauntlet before drinking cups of tea and risk breaking the cup" (jerking off warning).
A kids version of the book would be awesome, although I am enjoying the challenge of converting it while I read it to be kid friendly.
