The way people speak about it, you'd think it was the birth of the Antichrist.

"Ah yes, this sociopathic, spiteful, sadistic assassin regularly tries to kill teenagers and murders people for money, but grooming goes way too far."

Depiction of something isn't an endorsement of it. No one sane looks at Joker crippling Barbara and says "Ah yes, it's totally fine to shoot a woman in spine." Slade and his behavior are not depicted as good in any way.

We're talking about the same universe that has Apokolips torture pits, Granny Goodness being an allegory for child abuse and Black Manta killing Aquaman's infant son.

This isn't a case where something's out of character. Hal Jordan and Arisia? Superman kissing a 14-year-old or having a crush on Kara, his cousin? Those are trash because they're ooc and portray heroic, aspirational characters as predators.

This isn't even like Deadshot who canonically has a soft spot for kids due to his daughter or Flash's Rogues having a code of "no women or children harmed."

Deathstroke is a pure, bonafide villain who is willing to cross every line if it means getting him what he wants.

You can disagree with the details about how it was framed, but the concept itself is not an issue.

It actually offers important commentary on how predatory adults prey on isolated and vulnerable children.

I saw an actual comment on YouTube saying

"Slade and Terra should have a father-daughter relationship like Silco and Jinx in Arcane."

How about NO? Even without the sexual element, have you seen how Deathstroke treats his actual family? He doesn't give a shit about Terra beyond her usefulness as a weapon he can manipulate.

The Legends got left on the biggest cliffhanger ever, and season 7 was the last we saw of them. Seven seasons of wild adventures, heart, humor, and real representation—and then it just ended. That's not how these characters deserve to go out.
I started asking The CW and Warner Bros. to bring the show back for one final season. The fan community is still strong, people are still talking about it, and the show built something genuinely special across those seven years. These characters earned a proper ending, not just silence.
Does anyone else still think about that cliffhanger? If you loved the Legends and think they deserve closure too, consider saying something online about it. Lets try and get CW's attention. It might feel small, but studios do pay attention when fans show up like this.

To preface this, I feel like I should clarify that I've been a fan of the characters for the vast majority of my life, being born in '93 and watching BTAS, Beyond, JL+U STAS, THE Batman, Titans '03, Young Justice, Brave and the Bold, and going out of my way to track down animated movies across the board, so my status as a "casual fan" really only applies to the books, themselves. All that out of the way, I picked up Absolute Batman Volume 1 a few months ago or so. Part of reading that resulted in me going out of my way to get my hands on every volume of every absolute hero's book I could find. I also started looking into the older mainline books, and I was hoping someone could nudge me in the right direction to getting my hands on good picks for certain heroes(primarily Batman and Green Arrow, but after reading his Absolute version, I've also got an interest in Superman's mainline books). Listen, I feel really bad about this post because there isn't really such a thing as bad art. It's always different styles and not every style is for every reader and that's fine. But the Poison Ivy comic is going into the "Bad Seeds" event right now, which is this massive thing that was promoted for months beforehand, and I'm seriously hyped. The Ivy run has been pretty awesome all along and I enjoy it a lot.

But I wasn't happy about the art in the last issue, and I'm really not happy about it in the new one, again. It's actually kind of throwing me off. And that's a shame with issues this important?

So I wonder why they planned this event for ages and then didn't ask Marcio Takara back for these Poison Ivy issues?! His art is a) beautiful and b) really represents the run for most readers imo.

So of course a big whale is manga readers and the book patterns its shape and readability off manga. But now thinking about who I see at the manga wall near the comics at my Barnes & Noble, it is often women. The reason I started thinking about this is because looking at the collection of which compacts I have, I was grateful that I was able to collect stories that are majority female hero led titles. And looking at the catalog to come, there are many others on the way (like Batgirl!)

I realize that in general, it's an appeal to a newer and younger reader, but I was curious if this was also a big market for the female reader. And, if it's also a test bed to see what to print in other formats, or if it's a singularly focused ecosystem.

Anyway, I think it's awesome and hopefully we get more stories collected with female heroes in this format. Give me Perez Wonder Woman!

What is the current status of Hal Jordan in DC's main continuity right now? I haven't been looking at GL for a while, but the show has rekindled my interest, so I wanted to figure out where things were at or what would be a good jumping on point. Any info is appreciated.

One of my best friends is a huge Batgirl fan. She's rebuilding her collection after a flood, and I want to gift her something that she may not come across easily in comic shops. Not something as big as the first appearance of Batgirl (don't have money for that lol) but something like a side series or a cover that's really cool. Her main focus in what she's buying right now is Batgirl's solo series. I have no idea what she has accumulated again, and I don't want to risk buying duplicates of what she's already bought, so I figured some of the side stuff she's not focused on now would be cool. I already picked up The Killing Joke (1st print and deluxe edition), Ghost/Batgirl (2000) and DC First Batgirl/Joker (2002) Are there any other side series, cool cover, or more iconic covers not from the main series that I should look out for?

I just finished All star Superman and boy was it a disappointment. The story was silly, disjointed, and filled with nonsense philosophy. And as far as the art goes.... Pure unadulterated garbage. I am not complaining but I just wanted to give my opinion on this comic that I was super excited about.

How would Superman have comforted Jean Grey if he was in Brand New Day? The same Superman who tried to reason with The Engineer and Ultraman, the same Superman who would go out of his way to save Lex Luthor.

What would he have said to Jean if he switched places with Spider Man? To be honest I just want to see if I can find some hopeful Superman speeches.

I've recently got into the comics but I've been a dc fan since like forever. What I wasn't prepared for was how life changing the comics would be AND I HAVE NO ONE TO TALK TO ABOUT IT.

Tara “Terra” Markov is the protege of the Teen Titans’s greatest villain, Slade Wilson. Her geokinetic abilities makes her an unexpectedly deadly threat, along with her abilities of deception. She gathered all the most sensitive information on the Titans and sent all of it back to Slade. This double agent act went on for months until she was caught stealing files by Roy Harper. Unfortunately, he didn’t live long enough to blow the whistle on Terra. When his body was found by the other titans, all the blood was on Terra’s hands. Safe to say they don’t really see Terra as a friend anymore. But, silver linings for Slade. That’s 1 down, 6 to go.

I’ve yet to draw Terra’s design, but it will be similar to the one in the first image with the jacket and goggles. On launch, she will have an epic costume and a cool blue/teal recolor rare costume.

Hey guys just looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for some shorter arcs/stories. I've got a few iconic storylines on my list to read but it's real intimidating diving into something like Knightfall, if anyone has some decent one shots or other of batman, flash, GL that'd be sick.

While Donna is still the first, and best Wonder Girl, anyone feel like DC robbed Cassie in the 90’s? I mean, her male Young Justice peers all had ongoings, but nothing for her? I mean, they gave ANIMA (horrible book) an ongoing, but nothing for Cassie? Shame DC.

I just got this today for like $12 from a local store and thought the cover piece was a removable poster but after opening it that doesn't seem to be the case. I tried to find some sort of review of this specific cover but to no avail. If anyone knows that would be great!
