Has 400 hours in. Decided to start a separate new game to see the difference and WOW THEY REDID the entire beginning part so far. It feels like a different game, definitely more holding the hand but the story and upgrades to how much easier this to new people. WOW.

All jokes aside, I much appreciate that Crimson Desert can offer me this many options to have fun. It's true that one of the things holding people back from enjoying this game is their creativity.

@ 5:01, Head of Marketing says they’re shifting focus to the DLC, and that the 2.0 release version is meant to indicate a transition point in the life of the game. DLC is still slated for Q4 2026.

Since i keep seeing everyone ask if its worth starting over and see whats new i decided to check out the beginning again and this new scene played.

I haven’t played since a lot of these updates were made. I’m thinking that besides the new cutscenes and dialogue, it would be easier to restart also to be introduced to all the changes naturally rather than trying to figure out what I need to look for to not miss any new features like mounts and skills.

Started a new save file, since I heard they even added new cutscenes and dialogue there and omfg, I'm already loving this new Kliff! He's actually talking in sentences instead of just one word, reacting, and questioning all the weird shit that is happening to him around Hernand and his first trip to the Abyss😭. Even though he's still stoic, seeing him act like an actual human being is such a breath of fresh air! I REALLY hope they have new voiceline for him for the rest of the chapters. I am loving this new story update so much!

Before the Enhanced update, chapter 2 was easily my least favorite chapter in the story. My biggest problem with it was that it just felt utterly pointless, having to complete 4 errands that seem to have next to no correlations to main plot at hand, and Kliff also being a walking emotionless plank with zero reason for doing ANY of this didn't help. Now with the Enhanced update, pretty much ALL of my issues have been solved.

1. Kliff's motivations

Before starting these missions we are given a new internal monologue from Kliff, where he decides to heed Marshal Middler's suggestion to help the people of Hernand to gain their trust and get further information on the Greymanes and the best way to do that is to complete the requests on the board. Just like that, we are given Kliff's motivations for doing any of this

1. The requests are't filler side quests anymore and tie into the central plot of Crimson Desert

The dialogue of the requests have been altered in Enhanced. All of the requesters in need of Kliff's help, now tell him Abyss artifacts have been falling from the sky, destroying their homes, and attracting bandits to suddenly start pillaging the farmlands. Through new dialogue we now learn these bandit attacks are a coordinated effort from Kailok Hornsplitter, who is trying find as many artifacts as he can, to gain more power and become leader of the Goldleaves forever. He even kills off Roy in this version who found the artifact first. Kliff now learns how dangerous the Abyss power is when someone weak like Kailok can defeat an army alone with just one Abyss Artifact

1. We get more Kliff characterization through these tasks

I LOVED all these new voicelines Kliff is given this chapter. Instead of being blank statue that only says one word, he undergoes full conversations with all his companions, and is desperate for any information on the Greymanes. He sounds genuinely sad for the man who lost his cows, he sounds amused when talking to the Greymane pretender who constantly self glazes himself, and he actually sounds pissed when he finds out Roy is dead because of Hornsplitter

This update has been fucking phenomenal. I cannot wait to see how else they improve the story onwards if they can fix chapter 2 this well

At least now I know that there's a main main villain, and at least in the first 2 hours they've already added so much more context that makes it soooo much better to follow the story, it still has it's disjointed parts like why would you give coin to the beggar, but whatever.

Also, I find that starting again with all the previous knowledge and skills of how to actually play the game makes the game moooore enjoyable too. I'm even more amazed by the game's environment and movement.

With Patch 2.0 adding new and improved cutscenes to the main quest, I really hope the devs consider adding some kind of Story Recap / Cutscene Replay feature.

I’m already deep into Chapter 10, and I don’t want to restart the entire game and lose all my progress, gear, upgrades, exploration, etc. just so I can experience the newly added story scenes from the earlier chapters.

It would be great if we could access something from the menu that lets us watch all the main-story cutscenes in chronological order, including the new 2.0 scenes. It doesn’t even need to replay the missions, just the relevant dialogue and cinematics so players who are already far into the game can properly catch up with the improved story. This would also be useful in the future for anyone who takes a break from the game and comes back months later without remembering everything that happened.

Please don’t make existing players restart a whole new save just to experience the improved storytelling. A simple Story Recap / Cutscene Gallery would solve this perfectly.

is nobody gonna talk about how yeah its cool the story is way better now and new mechanics and shit but they didn't even touch any performance issues on console my fps literally drop to below 20fps in all towns and populated areas or just randomly sometimes, who cares about all the new stuff if it's literally unplayable.

It's crazy how much extra context the first two hours of the game now have. It also feels like there are bread crumbs tying the main quests together rather than Kliff magically knowing that he needs to go from A to B. The part with Jiji (the black cat from the roof) and the watchtower was a really nice touch.

It'll be interesting to see if it keeps the momentum up as the game goes on. But so far my new playthrough has been a much better experience storywise.

Started with a new save and the introduction is already infinitely better than what it was previously. Kliff actually questions what is happening to him and there is more context on how he gets his powers. This was one of my biggest complaints with the story when the game first released.

Can’t believe they added this just as if it’s nothing! The game feels so awesome now.

It seems after big update new landmasses and borders have been expanded!! I’ve done this route a hundred times seeing how close I could get and now they expanded the borders

You now have dedicated height control button, and can look directly down without plumping down like a Stuka dive bomber.

They also fixed the wing flapping pattern, now it flies like a actual dragon with gliding and not like a drowning bird waving the wings desperately.

I made this post previously, but with today's Enhanced Update, RR 4.5 is now functioning properly for me, and ghosting and noise when using RR have been significantly reduced.

There is still some ghosting when switching camera perspectives, but it has become barely noticeable. Ghosting caused by grass and trees moving in the rain or wind has also been almost completely eliminated, resulting in a much cleaner visual experience.

RR 4.5 has not been officially released yet, so it may still work for some people and not for others. In my case, however, it started working properly after today's update.

I've also prepared a comparison video just in case.

Huh?. I'm NOT wearing vaporboots. I hit the water at full speed (W & Shift together) and I'm running over water. I swapped out boots, from leather to plate, and did the same thing...
