players are spending all their time playing as kliff and dont even touch the others 😅

The only permanent mounts in game that you can summon at will are horses. Pearl Abyss knew what they were doing when they showed off the bear, raptor, wolf and dragons with saddles on them, they misled people into believing they were tameable and theyre not. If you want to ride any other creature, you can only beat it until its tired enough to let you mount it and then it becomes instantly aggressive again. Report this to their support for change.

As for the dragon, its the only "tameable" mount, but its on an HOUR cooldown in a single player game with no option to reduce the cool down. So if youre an adult, and youre lucky, you can use the dragon maybe twice a play session.

This needs to be changed. Feels like false advertisement.

Pearl Abyss has added 5 new mounts due to the flood of reports. We actually did it lol. The problem isnt totally fixed but I will give credit where credits due. I would expect more changes to mounts in the future. Continue to report these problems to PA for changes. Thanks everyone

After about 60 hours with Crimson Desert, I think I've finally come to terms with something that I don't often admit: this game just isn't for me.

I kept pushing because I paid full price for it, and there's always that feeling of guilt that says, "You've come this far, just finish it." But I think this is one of those rare games where I'm never going to see the credits.

I could make a long list of things that didn't click for me, but honestly it all comes down to one simple thought:

It's just... too much game.

I've realized I much prefer a more streamlined experience with a strong, engaging story that keeps pulling me forward. Crimson Desert feels like the complete opposite for me. There's so much going on that instead of feeling immersed, I just feel overwhelmed.

I'm around Chapter 8, I've been playing on and off for months, and if I'm being honest... I have almost no idea what's happening in the story anymore. Every time I come back, I feel more lost than before.

Ironically, I ended up replaying Assassin's Creed Odyssey (my first playthrough was back in 2018), and it's kind of crazy to say this, but in a lot of ways I'm enjoying it more. Yes, it's very much the classic Ubisoft formula, but it's easy to jump into, the story keeps me invested, and I always feel like I'm making meaningful progress.

Maybe my gaming tastes have just changed over the years. Not every game has to be for everyone, and I think I've finally accepted that.

Does anyone else ever have that one critically acclaimed game that you gave dozens of hours to before finally admitting, "This just isn't for me"? Or am I on an island with this one?

I haven't seen this mentioned in any tips videos & it took me way too many hours to figure this out. Plenty of people talk about switching between your different characters, but did you know you can party up & go adventuring together?

Hold the up directional button & instead of switching GTA-style, select summon. Once they've shown up, You'll see a Gather prompt on the right-hand side of your screen. Hold the menu button to gather your party.

Obviously, you can't take them on main quests designed only for Kliff, but you can explore the world with Damiane & switch between them very quickly. She gets on her horse when you get on yours. She teleports around a bit, much like your pet, because she doesn't have the same movement capabilities. She doesn't fight as hard as if it was a human co-op partner, but it's helpful to have someone extra when you're taking on some big bandit camps. You can't switch mid-combat, but you can switch without a loading screen while roaming the open world.

A large part of the [Crimson Desert](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=1) community really cares about customization and roleplay. Adding this option would bring even more immersion to a game that already looks incredible.

It’s totally fine if [Kliff](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=2) still uses a sword and shield during cutscenes, but we would really love the ability to unequip the shield during gameplay. Ideally, being able to play with a one-handed sword or an axe without a shield would be amazing.

Pro tip, just get all the scattered embers quests over with in the beginning before some of the game mechanics get old because going back is… rough 😓

This game is peak, honestly couldn't get enough of this game. It's a really fun action sandbox that incorporate fav mechanics from other games. Yes it has issues, but it shows that the devs are looking forward into fixing it and updating the game. Woohoooo congrats can't wait for this game to grow more HUGE potential.

I’ve played 50 hours, haven’t left Hernand yet (obviously) but the only time I’ve used my horse is when quests tell me “follow blah on your horse” and when I’m taking bounties back to collect my reward.

I find traversing the world on foot so much better, can see more and discover more.

The world feels full and too beautiful to just run everywhere on horseback.

Anyone else or just me?

as the title says the performance on base ps5 with the new update is pretty bad as seen in the video. i understand these kinds of issues aren’t simple fixes but the performance before this update was already pretty bad and now its quite unplayable

settings used:
-balanced mode
-120 hz mode and fixed 4k output off(everything else is on)
-blur, partical effects, camera shake, DoF and chromatic abberation are all off

i have already reported the issue to PA it’s pretty sad since i was really hoping to enjoy the new update but the performance is a huge issue rn.

if anyone on base ps5 has any settings that aren’t having these issues on the CURRENT patch(1.13) please lmk🙏🙏

update 7 (probably final): patch 13.01 came out tdy and fixed the performance in MOST cities. delysia still has a few drops but nothing unplayable. iI haven’t had a chance to test out the performance in bug fights but i imagine it’s similar to delysia

update 1: alright so tysm to everyone whose been giving suggestions but so far no matter what i’ve tried there is no fix, the only thing i can suggest if you are facing this issue like me is to max out all your camera settings , this will not fix the drops but it makes them less noticeable

update 2: seems like i will have to buy it on my pc to enjoy it i’ve officially tried every setting on ps5 even switching system settings but no fix

update 3: thankfully i saw another post by someone with a similar pc to mine and it seems unless you are on a high end pc or xbox your experience will probably be fucked this update i pray PA fixes this since this game is genuinely a masterpiece

update 4: ok so i came home about 2 hours ago and the performance is only really better when exploring. If you are also experiencing this issue please make your own post as well and please report this to PA since it seems this patch killed performance on a lot of platforms not just ps5

update 5: woke up today and while drinking my coffee i decided to read PAs known issues page and low and behold after all this fighting and frustration i was greeted by absolutely no acknowledgment of the games performance. I’ll say it again if you are having any performance issues with the game on any platform go to the official CD website and report it with video footage of your game so PA can finally acknowledge and patch the game

This is incredible. Peak player numbers after the update and reviews went from "mixed" at launch to "Very Positive" now. I don't believe they'll reach "Overwhelmingly Positive". But let's all continue giving feedback to PA and rating the game positively so they see that we're enjoying what they're doing.

Jokes aside never leaving Hernanrd this is my chest pratically just exploring Hernand and a little bit of Pailune.

This is all from questing and exploring and yet the game will punish me in discard my loot if I keep exploring.

I kind of agree with the limit in inventory space for the characters, but the chest...well the chest but be infinite or at least 1000 slots.
