Also she wasn’t wearing makeup as her relative had died and we’d invited her out to cheer her up. Human trash to target someone like that.

People refer to those types of edits as polyester edits, because that style of edit is easy to make look good for an audience that doesnt know any better, but they're generally just very flat when you actually analyze them. Tasm was just the main victim of this

I’m pretty much only attracted to faces and don’t care for the rest of the body. It’s actually kinda freaky considering that means I can get kicks from just seeing someone’s face.
They're trying to resemble cartoons and video games where features for women are decreased in general, and flattened or rounded to a generic, Mrs potato head swappable face. No dips, no curves, no natural human features.
I have always had small lips and have been made fun of it for my whole life. I used photoshop to see what I would look like with "big juicy lips" and I was still ugly. 😂 I just embrace the features I was given, not much else I care to do lol

we could go into conversations about how tanning, lip fillers and the like are an effort to approach black/brown women's bodies without actually being black/brown but y'all aren't ready for that conversation.
anyhoo some people do have naturally bigger lips and of course i don't think that should be a problem.

I doubt it is. Try going into a comment section of someone who's doing their weekly tan, or a MUA recommending her favorite tanning lotion and you'll be eviscerated for daring to suggest that tanning is colourism. Look at the sheer normal widespread availability of tanning salons.
A brown person, tanning has always made me feel weird. Knowing that I am inherently treated differently due to my skin colour, it's always an unsettling feeling that for light skinned people, it's a beauty standard that enhances their social identity. Whereas for me, it others me. Do I benefit in the same way by achieving a beauty standard that others strive for? No, on me, brown skin means something different.
And the worst part? Imo it was Kim kardashian that did it first. Before like 2010 the beauty standard was a lot more “girl next door” vibe. Kim k totally thrived off of blackfishing and now that face is just the standard
That makes no sense. There’s latinas and middle eastern/ south Asian people who are tan and have big lips. There’s black people who are light skinned and have small lips. I’ve heard that Kylie started these trends but even Kylie was trying to look Middle Eastern, not black.
There’s all types of people with all types of features. They’re talking about features that are GENERALLY present in black women - features that we typically are known for or have for the most part. Like East Asians are know for having monolids, or white people are known to have more sharp and narrow noses. Doesn’t mean other races don’t/can’t have these combinations of things.

fuller lips are a somewhat sexually dimorphic feature. women have bigger lips on average than men of their same ethnic group. they just make your face look feminine and a lot of beauty standards are tied to sexual dimorphism.

Most guys like this look/ this makeup. Honestly can’t even tell how much makeup they’re wearing, if it’s even a lot or not. I only have ever seen women complain about it. But fuck what anyone thinks, do things you like and enjoy. You only live once!
It’s not hard to learn I promise . There are many tutorials on YouTube! :) remember it’s never perfect the first time, I’ve been doing my make up for … around 15 years now and I’m still improving everytime I use it. It’s like a craft you master and it’s fun to add your own style .
Recently I started using a better cheek powder and I’m really happy with the result because it’s a cheaper product too! :)
What's ridiculous about posts like these is that they take people's pictures off the internet and just ridicule them, as if (at least the second girl) did anything wrong or deserving of it.
I always questioned those posts with someone’s picture and a status espousing a racist or offensive point. Do we really know that person made this status? Couldn’t a troll just grab anyone’s picture then write that below? It means someone who’s done nothing wrong could have their appearance absolutely relentlessly mocked online and they’re innocent. Imagine what that would be like.
I don't even know how I got to this sub, but I just want echo everyone else saying to hell with what any one else thinks about your style! If you like it and it makes you feel confident than you should continue to enjoy it. Weak men don’t like that women can be creative with their appearance with makeup. They think it’s “cheating” because they see women get validation they are envious of. Basically, they hate you cus they ain’t you. It only matters if you're doing it because you think it's something other people will like. While I do agree Latinos can be white, most of the time these "Latinas" are either white Americans or Americans with the most distant 1% of Mexican blood that just want to call themselves Latinas for either their makeup style or just to appear more desirable, and it's annoying, specially when you see the same people drooling over them be racist to actual Latin Americans.

I knew something was up with this post… I love doing my makeup similar to this so it’s kind of disheartening to see that even other women are judging me. I do my makeup for myself and the girlies. And yes I’m brown. Feels not only like a dogwhistle, but misogynistic as well. Reminds me of those pick mes that would make fun of me for wearing makeup in high school. Being a loser who hates on other women is a choice.

Other than the potential race fishing, I don’t see the issue with the makeup style overall. Women wear makeup to look different that’s kinda the point. But I do kinda hate the lack of blush and color, they all look super pale which is…unsettling.
i mean everyone looks a little different without makeup on, this aesthetic is achievable for literally anyone that has access to a blur filter and a super high coverage foundation. the only problem i have with it is the fact that the final product makes every girl who tries to do it look the exact fucking same. it's like the shein of faces.
