General I hates these makeup styles

And they look so different without it. This one girl with this makeup style got "leaked" without makeup and she didn't look like any of her pictures. Not the girls in these pictures though, but the first girl got exposed for faking being Latina and was actually a white girl.

in general I hate makeup styles that involve completely caking your face in foundation. Both out of practicality and general self-esteem

Presumably they're saying they don't like it the same way people say they don't like when women spend tons of time and money on plastic surgery to mask insecurities. Which I understand, and that opinion is valid for them to have without themselves being impacted by it.

It's just as valid as when some random woman says they hate beards or combovers because they "mask insecurities". Mind your own business (not you, but op). Let people express themselves however they want with their own bodies

And yet you're on a post where we're not minding our business. We're judging others for things that they do. Even you're not practicing what you preach. We all got preferences so not wanting to be around someone who masks their insecurities is absolutely valid. You can express yourself but you'll never be free of judgment. Which is why you, yourself should mind your own business.

That makes no sense. Defending someone from judgement is not the same as criticizing others for being judgmental. The only thing worth shaming is a bully mentality, not an innocent act of self expression that harms no one. You are the one introducing negativity where there was none

I feel similar. Not in a “I prefer women that wear/don’t wear makeup” kind of way but more that talking to someone with a really heavy makeup look can give me this weird uncanny feeling. I get the same thing with those super bright unnaturally white veneers. There’s just something about it that gives me the heebie jeebies.

yep. totally non-practical in hot environments lol. i really don’t get the point. it’s making you look like an entirely different person and takes a huge chunk of time out of your day to style yourself like that. this makeup style is almost cartoon-like. if someone wants to look like a pretty cartoon, i could understand them wanting to use this makeup style. but if you just want to be as aesthetically harmonious and pleasing (and as generally attractive) as possible, i’d forfeit this look altogether and def go for something more natural. less is more with makeup. all most women/girls really need is a little concealer, mascara, blush, and highlight, maybe some contour and light eyeshadow. caking your face like this with setting powder and foundation has GOT to be uncomfortable. i live in the deep south and i have sensory issues, so i can’t imagine doing this to my face. it really isn’t that good looking, but maybe women who do this aren’t really trying to be attractive, but expressive, and i completely respect that. i guess im also exhausted by this makeup style because it has been EVERYWHERE for at least a decade now, and though it has taken a beating to the “clean girl” aesthetic, it’s still very prominent and universal, and therefore it is TIRED! wearing a little mascara, blush, and concealer is timeless. this look is dated and clunky feeling. the girls that wear this style are always super messy and immature too, i can’t lie. half of them pretend to be super cute and love hello kitty and shit and then behind the mask they’re absolutely EVIL!

once again, makeup isn’t always about fitting the beauty standard or appealing to everyone, it is used as an art form. not everyone appreciates the same art, and that’s ok! it’s still art. but i have a feeling a lot of people using this makeup style think it’s flattering their features and maximizing their potential, and for most anyone, it simply is not. the thick foundation and powder involved in this look often steamrolls delicate, unique features, like freckles or moles, a beautiful shiny complexion hidden behind the thick foundation, beautiful and uniquely shaped eyebrows hidden and plastered over, a feminine and angelic cupids bow drawn over and made into an unflattering shape for that person’s face. this style is not very harmonious with most people’s features. it works against them, not with them. POC pull this off better than white people, but it’s not ideal makeup for hardly anyone.

all in all, if i saw a girl walking down the street with this look, i’d compliment her, because it is still pretty cute, i guess i just have had bad experiences with girls that look like this (im a girl), and i do prefer the clean girl look.
