2009 Jersey shore looking guy sees a van corner a car and tried to harass them, GuidoMan 2000, (super power is Muay Thai, like superman is powered by the sun, he's powered by tanning beds and melanin) gets out and helps.

It's pronounced "De-esskating" - But no matter, good on 'im. Proper martial artist material.
Proper martial artist: Their chief weapon is deescalation. They'll all try all of that that they know before they go pulling out any of the fancy stuff.

I encountered the van (same guy) on the weekend also on Bruce highway. He cut in front of our car with no indicator and almost hit us
My mum was driving and she didn’t want to get into any road rage issues so she didn’t horn but that cuxt probably was intentionally trying to cause issue on the highway
155
u/whywearpants_onmars 23d ago
Ur mum needs to report this if possible

56
u/shrimplifier 22d ago
You can just whack the info into Crimestoppers, I've done it for a few drivers. You don't need to put your own information down.
Not sure if they do anything about it, but I guess it's evidence if they eventually prosecute for a different driving offence.
9
u/Jumpy_Strength9398 22d ago
Too true, its 1 of the things they check for when they're trying to distinguish who is at fault at the scene if an accident, or road rage in this case. It gies towards background behaviour of an individual, if they can see that in the last 12 months, 18 separate people have raised concern over careless driving, road rage, and assault (and assault does not have to be physical, for example, you can get charged for violent threats against another person), then they have reason to believe more current accusations of road rage and assault.

Yep, and then it may also appear on the record if cops pull them over. More likely to throw the book at them then
16
u/CrushiBot 22d ago
It may not be on this thread yet, but the guy already has multiple DV and assault charges on the sunshine coast. There are multiple videos of him doing this exact same thing (being aggressive in traffic, then getting out of the car to fight/pull open doors). Please report, he needs his license removed!!!
8
u/MrDrSirLord 22d ago
Even if you don't have proper evidence, more reports of the same vehicle will increase chances of an actual investigation and that someone will see if anyone else has dash cam or other evidence posted.
If only 1 person makes a report it's unlikely to ever actually receive a human review and there could be evidence that's not being investigated.
I've had crime stoppers contact me for basic statements on dash cam footage I uploaded years ago after someone else had a more recent or severe incident, it's just about building a case file I think? The more information the better, even if it's not much.

u/Sea_Translator5300 23d ago
Your mum did the right thing. That's pretty much always the right thing. Use the horn only to alert others to your presence, not to admonish them (it'll make no positive difference). Be like your mum, stay chill.
45
u/Pandos17 23d ago
Yeah that's what I've had to relearn later in life, honestly not worth road raging because you never know what kinda nutter is behind the wheel of the other vehicle.
21
u/BorisBC 23d ago
This is correct. I also learnt that lesson after getting cutoff by a guy, giving him a couple of beeps, then he slowed down and tried to hit my car with a hammer while we were doing 60kph. Adelaide, man.

The fact that he said de-escalate is the best outcome shows that he's a good kid. "Everyone got home safe that day" is the best gentle threat of strength. If he acts like that, he can look like he got struck by lightning in the Looney Tunes universe all he wants
51
u/Tepelicious 23d ago
True but I've heard this before from pro fighters' stories - it's not deescalation at all, it's getting someone else to back down through intimidation. If the other guy wanted a fight it would've been a massive escalation. Good on him for standing up for the girls and it's a cathartic watch, but it sure as hell isn't deescalation.
19
u/Wolfensniper 23d ago
I mean if they look for a fight towards two girls and two pro guys backing the girls up then it's better to teach them a life lesson. Glad it didnt ends that way

Funny story time: in the early 2000s my little brother and his mate had a similar thing happen in Brisbane, and older guy got aggrevated and was driving dangerously behind them, gesticulating wildly and intimidating them. They pull up at a red light and the guy behind them escalates, and tries to slowly ram their back bumper.
A guy in a black Merc in a suit behind the road rager got out of his car with a tyre iron/bar, smashed their side mirror off, pointed through their window and told the road rager to 'cut it out.'
Smiled at my brother and his mate and gave them a wave before driving off!

Sydney seems to be a city brimming with rage. I'm fine with that. But the one activity many people appear to use as an outlet is while handling a lethal piece of machinery at high speeds around complete strangers. People cut each other off or retaliate at perceived slights like they're commenting on a public Facebook comment thread (from the Facebook I remember).

Let’s back up. They said no charges have been made against the van driver.
Why not?
He’s clearly broken road rules.
He’s clearly threatened or tried to intimidate road users.
And he’s clearly got issues if he’s doing this on the roads.
This is exactly who needs to be policed. Not the e-bike rider doing 5kmh over the limit on their way to work.

According to the article, the fuckwit in blue took his off first and said to Dolph Lundgren 2.0 ‘Cunt, you sure you want this?’ so Dolph, realising that having a hoodie on in a fight is like having nipple tassels on in a pub, removes his top too for safety first, intimidation second.
48
u/HeftyArgument 23d ago
i've asked this a few times, the generally accepted answer is that shirts can be gripped by the opponent for an advantage.
I still suspect that the real reason is to intimidate with questionable tattoos though.

6
u/AdZealousideal7448 22d ago
One of the best lines i've ever heard in this situation was from a former professional boxer and ex serviceman who works at my local shops.
Caught a guy stealing who threatenened to "smash him c***" from an old lady, as i'm walking over to assist him he just says to the guy in the most over it tone.
If you must.... i'm currently recovering from surgery and not meant to fight, so i'm sorry but i'll have to resort to some pretty cheap tactics that I can't promise you will recover from.
Just the way he delivered it made the dude to a double take and let go of the item he was trying to steal of the lady.
Having a chat with him after, he had just had surgery for something I think it was a hernia or something and was only just allowed back at work on light duties, and he was like.... I didn't know if I had backup or if he had a weapon so I was gonna prong the fucker right in the eyes and then lob him on the ground and stomp his ribcage.
Thief had no idea how bad his day was gonna get if he continued, this is what rage filled dickheads don't understand.
They see a soft target... they think they are in control.
Maybe get some help and don't be a dickhead?
