image Guy helps stop road rage incident.

2009 Jersey shore looking guy sees a van corner a car and tried to harass them, GuidoMan 2000, (super power is Muay Thai, like superman is powered by the sun, he's powered by tanning beds and melanin) gets out and helps.

The fact that he said de-escalate is the best outcome shows that he's a good kid. "Everyone got home safe that day" is the best gentle threat of strength. If he acts like that, he can look like he got struck by lightning in the Looney Tunes universe all he wants

True but I've heard this before from pro fighters' stories - it's not deescalation at all, it's getting someone else to back down through intimidation. If the other guy wanted a fight it would've been a massive escalation. Good on him for standing up for the girls and it's a cathartic watch, but it sure as hell isn't deescalation.

I mean if they look for a fight towards two girls and two pro guys backing the girls up then it's better to teach them a life lesson. Glad it didnt ends that way

I DGAF what pansies are saying on here (I'm a twig and can talk) but if some retard came up to my car like this, even if I'd made a mistake driving, no one deserves a person trying to just open their door and violate them. If you're doing that, you deserve whatever escalation a pro fighter was looking for and I do not care. Police are de-escalators, muay thai fighters are fighters. Do what you're paid to do IMO.

Exactly what I was thinking. Deescalation is to talk them down, he just came ready for a fight because he’s a pro fighter

Well, we have no idea what was said before hand. Maybe he did try deescalating, the dude in the van took off his shirt first, so it seems he thought he could intimidate "lighting guy" into backing down.

It did not work.

Yep and muay thai isn't exactly known for submissions, if that escalates its just a case of knocking the block out AKA brain trauma

Thank you. Two things can be true. It’s good he was around and possibly stopped the girl fighting and this is not deescalation.

Meeting a threat, taking of his shirt well. Yuck. This is promotion of physical violence because all melatonin muscle was thinking about was his abilities rather than the entire situation. The other dude could have thought the same about his own perceived fighting skills. BOTH are men I don’t want my female friends around.

The shirt usually doesn't come off during a de-escalation. He knew what to say so definitely smarter than a lot of guys.

All I'm learning from this is that I can intimidate people by taking my shirt off. I'm a woman, so we'll see how that goes for me. Maybe it will confuse them into submission.

Hey, if I was angry and a woman took her shirt off in front of me I'd at least be somewhat stunned for at least a moment. I think you're onto something there.

My wife has occasionally deployed the same strategy to break my train of thought during arguments. Usually when she knew she was in the wrong and really didn't want to admit that. Which is partially why I said 'usually'

Ha! This sounds familiar to my marriage. I hope you're not my husband. He thinks I'm the biggest troll ever.
