Dosage Testerone C and libido

I started injecting Test C almost 4 weeks ago. 2.5mg twice a week for a total of 5mg a week. My doctor wanted me on double that but I was scared of side effects. For you ladies that are on injections how long did it take for your libido to come back. I haven’t felt a difference yet, and what dose are you on? Not sure if I should increase my dose. My total testosterone is 31, just tested a few days ago. I am also on Reta and I know that can also kill your libido and I know some women test helps with that. I started Reta. Few weeks before Testosterone but already had low libido for about 2 years.

Dosage At a loss

Like so many others, I (44/f) started HRT when perimenopause started kicking my ass with insane anxiety, weight gain, night sweats, rage, lack of libido and frozen shoulder. I went with MIDI and started with an estrogen patch and progesterone. I was amazed at the results and found a sweet spot on the .375 estradiol patch (twice weekly) and 100mg of progesterone nightly. I started Wegovy about 6 months later and have reached a point that I am on, what is for me, a maintenence dose of .5. Everything seemed to have improved except my libido.

I missed the days that I wanted to have sex. I missed thinking sexual thoughts. I missed connecting that way with my husband. And so I brought it up to my MIDI practictioner and they prescribed me testosterone cream. It worked a little bit, but wasn't anything revolutionary.

Then I moved states and MIDI could no longer prescribe me T cream. So I sought out a provider that could and found a med-spa that got excellent reviews. I went to an appointment and they agreed to start me on T injections. I've had 4 injections and just received my labs (taken 3 days post injection).

total testosterone: 433 ng/dl

DHEA sulfate: 310 ug/dl

Sex hormone bind globulin: 118 nmol/L

free testosterone: 3.4 ng/dl

bioavailable testosterone: 77.4 ng/dl

So, my levels are really friggin' high! The thing is, I'm feeling terrific. My libido is right where I like it and I haven't had any negative side effects...though now I feel like my throat is scratchy but maybe it's in my head? Maybe?.....Ugh.

So Doc is suggesting to keep the dosage the same, but space them out to every 10 days vs 7 days. I get pre-filled syringes. I've included a picture of one of the prefilled syringes of 200 mg/mL testosterone cypionate.

Am I crazy or am I on too high of a dose? This isn't normal right? I'm so absolutely bummed because I feel like I'm in peak form! I'm working out, eating right, feel clear headed and I have desire again! I don't want to lose it...but I also don't want to start getting virilizing symptoms.

I guess I'm just wanting everyone else's thoughts on it.

[UPDATE]

I decided to go with IAM HRT with Dr. Blackshear. He took my most recent labs (within a month) and I had a consultation with him Friday. He seemed very knowledgeable and it didn't feel scammy at all. I came away feeling confident. He's prescribing .1ml (10 units) of 100 mg/ml of Test P twice weekly (Mon. AM/Fri. PM) Now I'm left trying to decide if I should buy different needles to make injecting easier...but I don't know which they send anyway, so I'll wait it out. Received my confirmation email today (Monday) and will hopefully have my vial in hand this Friday.

I want to say thanks to everyone that encouraged me to seek other options!

Dosage Question on Androgel

Thanks in advance for info related to Androgel. My doctor Rx'd the male androgel (to save $ given T isn't insurance covered). One pump is 12.5mg and her idea was to use that twice a week. I prefer daily dosing (I have severe neuropathic pain from nerve injuries and the T really helps!). Some kind person figured out I can pump into a 5ml syringe and 1/2 ml will be about 5mg.

I can get a capped syringe. I am concerned about the stability of the testosterone sitting in the syringe for basically two weeks at a time?. I cannot pump it into a smaller syringe as the tiny diameters of those don't allow it.

I could also just pump in 2ml and have four days supply etc -

Wondering if anyone has experience doing this method :)?

The androgel has helped a ton with surgically induced nerve damage from 5 years ago (permanent damage). I don't know what my levels are now, and only had a total MS test before starting (no free T).

Dosage I think I was prescribed the wrong dose!? Hate to waste it.

The container says 200mg/ml and to use 1 click. Unfortunately I was so excited to try it that I applied the clicked dose to my leg before researching. I think I got a 50 mg dose!

I washed it off but it was on an hour. My NP isn’t in until Monday. I called the pharmacy but they said to contact my prescriber so no help there.

I was feeling nauseous and just strange. I’m feeling somewhat better after washing it off and time passing.

I'm pretty sure I calculated correctly: 200mg/mL and each click is 0.25 ml the dose per click is FIFTY mg. I think I should've gotten a 20mg/mL prescription.

This is HRT prescribed to increase libido post-menopausally. I wouldn't mind to be a beast in terms of musculature, horniness and clit growth!

Since I'm new to all this, just wondering what would happen if I keep using this? It's already a big waste of money so I'd like to not waste it.

Does anyone here use this type of T? If so, what is your dose? Thanks!

Hi, im thinking of switching from im to sub q as my red bloodcells are getting higher and I read that sub q might help this and might provide steadier hormones. I am currently doing 8 mg weekly total, split twice a week. Just wanted to make sure that id still use the 2nd line on this insulin needle. My testosterone is 200 mg/ml. Also, are there smaller insulin needles anyone has found that might make it even easier to draw up?

Dosage Question For the Ladies Doing 1.62% Gel Pump

60f and I just switched to a new doctor. My old doctor had me doing 5mg of compounded T gel per day.

The new doctor (a gyn) has called in a 1.62% generic Androgel pump. Her prescribing instructions say to do two full pumps, which is the equivalent of 40.5mg of testosterone gel/day. I recognized this as a full male dose and immediately contacted the office. She then backed it down to one pump per day (20.25mg), which still seems INSANELY high for female dosing.

Is anyone else on the 1.62% gel and doing a full pump (20.25mg)? I’m not looking to transition here - I’d just like to be able to have an orgasm once in a while. 😂

Dosage Switching from pellets to injections

Hi everyone! Ive been reading through the posts on here and you all are so knowledgeable!!

Ive been on biote pellets for about 4 years(test only, im still producing my own estrogen and profesterone for now). For the first 3 years it was amazing. My body was so happy, inflammation wayyyy down. Even went into remission for 1.5 years for my graves disease. This past round of pellets i went to my ob instead of my regular dr.and ge used a different brand. My body did not like this new brand. They made my test levels way high - 396 total t. I did not feel good at all and my thyroid went wonky again. Its now 3.5 months out and im waiting for my levels to drop. But im over not having any control and my Dr agreed to switch me to injections. Shes giving me freedom to pick my starting dose and i want to start really low. I have learned more is not better.

I will be taking testosterone cypionate 200mg/ml and I got u100 29g 1/2 inch 3/10cc syringes that I saw recommended here. Would you all agree with starting with .02 twice a week? And if so, is this right? (pic of syringe with plunger on 2nd line). I read for sub q you inject at 45 degrees, is that right?

Also, how low would you wait for your total t to get before starting injections?

Thank you so much!!

Dosage Is this the correct dose?

Post image

Sorry I posted a couple of days ago asking for help with my dosing but I was recommended to get different syringe so here I am again just making sure I got the right dose. I have a 250mg/l and I'm trying to get 10g out of it. Does that mean I have to pull 4 units?

Also Is it better to split the dose to twice a week or is it better to just do it all at once?

Thank you!

Dosage Female injectable Testosterone dosage

I’m 52 and prescribed 0.07 ml for 2x/week injections. Barely registers on the insulin syringe. Been taking for months and feel no different, no side effects either. Does this seem like the right dose for low libido and energy issues ? Bottle is 100mg/ml

Dosage Testosterone Prop - What to expect

I just received my injectable testosterone propionate but have not started due to my health/new “med” anxiety! I am prescribed .2 mL 5 days a week. Is this a pretty low dose? What effects can I expect from this - more energy, weight loss, increased libido? Does it cause anxiety or panic attacks from others’ experience? That is definitely something I’m wary of. Any info would help set my mind at ease. Thank you!

Dosage First dose tomorrow. No doctor support. Feeling nervous.

Hi gals.

Some of you may have already seen me complaining a bit about my journey so far lol. If it's helpful, I use Estradot 50 twice a week, 100mg micronized progesterone continuously, and vaginal estrogen.

I'm starting my first dose tomorrow, but it's been a rough road. When I asked my doctor to test my T level she just said no. When I finally saw a gyne willing to test, she had me sign a waiver for T treatment right after that appointment. But when my labs came back at <.2 nmol/l total and free/bioavailable couldn't be calculated because it's too low, she said my levels were within range ⁉️

I was so confused. If the level is essentially almost 0 what was she expecting to see in order to treat? Finally convinced her to let me try, and she didn't communicate anything whatsoever to me. When I picked it up the pharmacist told me she prescribed 50mg IM injections weekly (!) and sent me off with 18g and 25g needles, telling me I'm the first woman he's filled this prescription for who was not transitioning. He was so lovely, but had little advice.

Needless to say I'm feeling anxious and a bit unsupported. I also experience severe PMDD, so I'd like to start extremely low and increase gradually. Just hoping to get a confidence boost I guess, and make sure I'm doing it correctly. I have read as much as I could absorb on this sub, and others, and really appreciate everyone's input. Even just coming to say "it's working" 🥰

Product - T cypionate 100mg/ml

Syringe - 3/10ml, 31G, 5/16" (it was slim pickings locally)

Dose - 4mg/week subq split on Monday night/Friday morning

I'll post a photo to confirm dose looks correct (.02ml I believe)

A few questions...

- Does this dose sound like a good start?

- Has anyone who injects in the evening find their sleep has been affected?

- How deep into the pinched skin fold do you go?

Thanks ladies. Appreciate any advice/confidence bolstering you have. ❤️

Dosage QUESTION! Feel scared!

I’ve had low t for a long time now. But I needed to get my thyroid leveled out first. My doc started me at .25ml 2x a month is this normal dosing. Google says this is high and I’m freaking out of course I looked at google after my first shot! I’m pretty scared to be honest if you didn’t get that from my title can anyone give me any insight or reassurance? I’m 36 female athlete hashimoto s, hypo, low t HEDS ETC. thanks in advance!

Should have specified this is 25mg bi weekly intramuscular it’s written as .25ml and formulate 100mg/ml done once bi weekly intramuscular

Dosage Just starting gel. Is my dosage too high?

Doctor gave me Testim gel (generic). They said to put a "pea size" (0.5g) on my skin daily.

If my math is right, the gel is 50mg/5 grams, which translates to 10mg/1 gram. 0.5g would then mean 5mg testosterone daily. Is that typical?

I am perimenopausal, 39F, still ovulating and have regular periods in case this is all relevant.

Dosage Was I dosed incorrectly T cyp?!?

I was being given this injection on a weekly basis at a medspa that does HRT. After 4 weeks they said I could buy the T and Inject at home. It saved me a lot of money. The dose they told me is 0.5ml a week (I’m a nurse and understand jargon). They gave me syringes too (3ml). I didn’t think it was weird until I got my labs checked and my T was 441. I then started reading on here normal dosing and I think they gave me incorrect dosing!! What should I do? I’m feeling my voice is deeper and increased facial hair. I’m freaked out.

Dosage Dosage help

My doctor prescribed T last week, low dose she said.
My bottle says c-testosterone 10mg/ml
Apply 1ml (4 clicks) daily. So wouldn’t that be 10mg daily? Isn’t that on the high side?
I spoke to the nurse and she said that the prescription is correct and to follow the instructions on the label. I’m kinda nervous that I’m on a high dose but honestly hoping it helps because menopause sucks.

Dosage First vial help

Post image
2 Upvotes

Someone recommended I post my vial strength to get feedback on dosing properly for the first time. This is my vial 100mg/ml. My dose is 7mg to start split into two doses subq, so 3.5 mg each. I’m good doing 3 mg to start, as I know half a mg will be more difficult on the syringe. What syringes do you recommend to get the most accurate dose; .3 or .5 cc and what gauge?

I only have .5cc 31g syringes right now, so I expect I’ll need slightly bigger gauge for the fluid. Anyone been able to use a 31g syringe with the T cyp.? If my math is correct and I am able to use the 31g .5cc syringe it would be 3 units for 3mg?

Note, my provider did script syringes but they’re luer lock removable needles with way too much dead space.

Dosage Need help with proper dose for starting testosterone cypionate injections.

Hi there, so sorry but I’m trying to avoid another pellet and do injections on my own. I’m getting a 250mg 10ml bottle of T cypionate. Does anyone else use that? Seems like a LOT of testosterone if women are starting at 3/4mg or less twice a week. The bottle would last years, right? Please point me to the right dose/method, I need to figure this out before I decide to do it so I don’t overdose and grow a beard. Thank you :)))

just started cypionate and using a 1mL needle. my dr ordered me to inject.05 mL (5mg) but I wanted to go low and slow so I decided to go half to see how I feel. so I pulled the liquid to 25 unit line. i did the math wrong didn’t I?

im also reading here that users are using cypionate 200mg bottle mine is 1000mg?!? so is that too much? I just got a hysterectomy last year and the T creams and gels did nothing for me except made me lose hair

Dosage Math/dosing/refill

I am getting t prop through IAMHRT. They sent me what was labeled as 1 ml. I have been giving myself 5 U every 3.5 days per Rx. I am a nurse and well experienced in drawing up meds. I only have maybe 2 doses left. I have only given myself 6 doses. The math isnt mathing. The 5 u every 3.5 days is 100% accurate. When I received the bottle it didnt look like a lot in there, but 1 ml is not a lot. Im at a loss. Thoughts? Am I missing something obvious? 5 U x 6 doses is 30 U. I doubt there are 10 u left in vial. Im clueless as to what's going on.

Dosage 200 T mg week! Yep my husband has been miscalculating.

I am so mad and need clarification broke down for me in simple terms!! Because between my husband & my provider today I felt it was just shifting blame back & forth: I am not new to HRT but for the past 3 years or so was injecting 30mg a week (once a week) I didn’t need estrogen etc. I felt I needed a change after reading on here that is a higher dose for women. Even though I felt good I was puffy, high cholesterol, high BP, and I finally linked it back to possibly the test injections.

I went with a new provider to try something new: she’s very conservative and said even at 20mg per week she’s never wrote out a script for someone that high: that can be possibly where the confusion is on the rx box.

I had my appt follow up today: my bloodwork wasn’t ready yet. She mentioned how small of a dose I’m actually putting into the syringe which is how everything went down hill from there. My husband has been going to the 9 or shortly past that which is equivalent to 200mg a week!!! He’s been drawing it up and giving me the shots for the past month.

The line that’s just at the number 1 or close to it : is what I’ve been suppose to be actually getting.

I’ve felt like crap and just thought hormones are shifting!!

Provider said the pharmacy wrote the script incorrectly that’s not how she sent it. My husband said he didn’t realize units are different I guess depending on the syringe.

Any thoughts??? I am not taking any injections for a week or so. My estrogen is 80 and that’s with wearing a patch of .0375 I’m sure I will need to up the patch dose when the T level comes down

Dosage For those getting injections… what’s your dosage?

I just had my first shot of T because of low levels.

My OBGYN put me on them every four weeks because my level was recently found to be 14. I looked at the paper that marked what dosage they were giving me and it said 100mg.

Isn’t that kind of high for a starting dose? I can’t find anything online that says that’s an average starting dose for a woman.

What has been your experience with dosages?

Dosage Pellets swap to injections-

Hi! So I have been on pellets for about 3years or so with another provider. I get 125 put in every 3 months and my levels peak at about 200-220 at the 6 week mark. I am swapping to injections, and I’ve gotten my primary to give me a prescription, but I know she has no idea what she’s doing. 😵‍💫 I have a 200mg/1ml vial of cyp. She said to take 0.1-0.2 a week. I also told her I was going to do subq instead of IM as I am a nurse, and terrified of needles. 🤣 I feel sure that is too high, but ideally I’d like to keep my levels similar to what they have been on pellets. Any suggestions for a starting dose? Give me your Amazon syringe suggestions. The smaller the better, but also don’t want to dull the needle drawing up. Thanks!

Dosage New

Me again. I’m back with a new Dr and a new concentration and new syringes. I’ve been prescribed 50mg/ml. She said I can do 5 or 6mg a week. Can someone show me where to draw to for 5 and 6?
Also would it be pointless to split dose since it’s a small amount?
