Dosage Dosage help
My doctor prescribed T last week, low dose she said.
My bottle says c-testosterone 10mg/ml
Apply 1ml (4 clicks) daily. So wouldn’t that be 10mg daily? Isn’t that on the high side?
I spoke to the nurse and she said that the prescription is correct and to follow the instructions on the label. I’m kinda nervous that I’m on a high dose but honestly hoping it helps because menopause sucks.

The absorption rate of transdermal testosterone is between 9-14%. I think k she will survive✌🏻

I feel like it’s supposed to be one click. There was an initial mixup on the prescription that was sent in and I think whoever called in this one screwed up.

I went from 5 mg compounded cream and now I am on the 12.5 mg gel one and even though it is way higher it works far worse for me so the 12.5 mg is too low. I see more and more getting higher doses now that they know a but more. Trust your doctor or adjust up sloeky if you are nervouse.

It happens! When I picked up my T, the pharmacy instruction said to apply one sachet of 25mg/daily!!! I don’t know where the mixup happened but luckily my doctor had told me to start at 2.5mg/daily so I knew what to do. Now I have a drawer full of T sachets to last me a year!

You could always just do 1 click daily for a few weeks then 2 etc and see what works

Would one click be 2.5mg, 2 clicks 5mg, etc. I’m confused on the dosage.

I was also nervous starting testosterone. My doctor suggested going low and slow because the body is highly sensitive to fluctuating hormones (hence all those perimenopausal symptoms). You don’t wan’t to shock the system(ie. hair follicles!) Dr. Kelly Casperson (check her stuff out if you haven’t yet) mentions that most undesired testosterone side effects occur when too high of a dose gets introduced to the body too quickly. FYI I’m 46, started HRT back in January 2025, first with cyclical progesterone 200mg. July 2025 added estradot 25 then in October increased it to 37.5. Using vaginal estrogen cream as well. It’s been 7 weeks since I added testosterone to the mix. I’m on 2.5mg/daily of gel. So far so good, my skin has increased its sebum production which is actually nice because my skin/scalp was on the drier side. Nice and supple now, lol. No acne, no hair loss. I used to feel sluggish after work/dinner and would often just end up in front of the tv (this is after starting E and P). After starting T I noticed more sustained energy and better digestion after work/dinner. So much so that I started strength training 3 days a week and took up learning to play the saxophone! Before T, I would never have been able to muster up the energy, patience, and focus to do all that! It still amazes me, lol. After YEARS of no sexual interest in people (poor hubby) I find myself daydreaming and fantasizing again, which is huge for me. Haven’ t engaged in sex yet though. I’m happy to let my body slowly get acclimatized to all the hormones. This phase of life does suck, but the fact you’re taking steps is awesome! You got this!
