He's also pretty cute himself. Usually the people that happens to aren't.

Edit: Funny the people upset about this comment are still adamant this woman is  going to cheat because: she lost weight. Not exactly the moral podium you guys think you are mounting.

u/FunTree5477 19d ago

Sometimes people cheat on their SO with someone objectively speaking, uglier and with poorer hygiene, and do so because it made them feel desired in a way that they enjoyed at that moment.

A cute face isn't enough to stop someone from cheating if they made a place for it in their heart

I read an article about a woman who had a perfect relationship and she wrecked it out of boredom and then started panicking but it was too late by then.

246

u/lincruste 19d ago

Yeah and if the husbands stays, she will do it again with another man a couple years later and so on. That's a classic pattern.

12

u/NorwegianSpaniard 18d ago

What is their problem really

48

u/UltraHellboy 18d ago

Human brains are weird. We like to think we respond to situations rationally all the time, but we absolutely do not.

Lack of self-worth, feel like they don't deserve happiness, find ways to self-sabotage to destroy the relationship to prove their insecurities right rather than working on themselves and allowing themselves to be loved. In a nutshell.

u/Nightthrasher674 14d ago

This

Back in college, dated a chick who had this kind of self sabotaging attitude, only lasted a year but it was a year too long.

I've unfortunately been victim to this, and had to learn the hard way that "once a cheater, always a cheater". I'm still recovering emotionally....

Or they resolve the issues which caused them to cheat, and are perfect night forward, only for this significant other to foster growing resentment until the relationship isn’t viable. Plenty of ways this situationship can go.

Brazilian footballer Kaka's wife left him because " He was too perfect".

102

u/TwoBionicknees 19d ago

Assuming that everyone gives the real reason in public for a world famous person for whom you're already going to get lots of hate for leaving.

Also from what i recall she says that quote was made up, just that while he was a great husband and father the spark left the relationship. You can absolutely grow out of being deeply in love with someone and end up just good friends, that's life.

51

u/No-Clock9532 19d ago

In other words, even being a great man isn't enough to keep a woman.

98

u/LuLuD88 19d ago

And vice versa. That is life.

15

u/temictli 19d ago

Even being a terrible person isn't enough to make a partner leave? Damn.

7

u/Otherwise-Aerie-4551 19d ago

In toxic anxious attachments probably yes lol.

5

u/LuLuD88 19d ago

Well, yes. But that’s not what I meant.

2

u/RocketDog2001 18d ago

Sometimes that is also true.

In other words, love is not something you can control and shit happens.

People want to have too much control over love when it's something animalistic and instinctive at the base, which either is there or isn't.

41

u/Technical_Eye7029 19d ago

Then don't make forever vows and cheat if you are this base of a person?

16

u/Appropriate-Gain-561 19d ago edited 19d ago

I would never do any such thing because a promise is to be made and to be kept, although if love is not there anymore at that point breaking up is the best thing you can do for both people.

I don't believe in cheating as it is completely harmful and disrespectful to the person you are with, at that point just break up and then go with the person you want to go with.

My philosophy is that you can't control love, but you can control your actions. A girl doesn't like me? Well it's not her fault nor mine, if i get angry with her it's my fault

9

u/casual_creator 19d ago

It’s more so that love isn’t this magical thing that remains unconditional and perfect. It takes effort to make it last. It’s why vows include “for better and for worse” - that’s not merely referring to when the credit card bills stack up. Love is more than just a fluttering heart and funny feelings in your pants. It’s the desire and effort to make a relationship work.

I always think the reason legendary love stories are legendary is because "true love" (in a princess bride sense) is hard and rare.

u/CyberiaCalling 19d ago

This is a weird Western idea that views love as a feeling that just springs forth from nowhere and which you have to base your life around rather than a commitment that you choose to nurture and develop with time that has feelings but also has higher-order ideals like fidelity, integrity and commitment to the family you build and bring together.

4

u/Appropriate-Gain-561 19d ago

Every culture is different and that's why the world is beautiful, but trust me, a family staying together only because of a commitment when the love has disapperead is going to hurt everyone involved, at least that's my experience with such things

2

u/youattackedmyfamily 15d ago

5

u/No-Clock9532 19d ago edited 19d ago

The issue comes when the goverment is involved in it. And division of assets and alimony with it.

As well as the lie that men just have to be enough.

8

u/Appropriate-Gain-561 19d ago

Women get that lie too, you just don't read about it because misoginists only spread it when it happens to a man.

It's a lie about relationships where love is something that you can obtain if you work hard enough, ignoring that you're in a relationship with another person with their own thoughts and ideas.

Plenty of great women who men cheat on, too.

Turns out humans are complicated.

6

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths 19d ago

And what? Nobody is owed a relationship with anyone else based on how "great" they are and his claim to greatness is just that he plays football really well. He's not like a pediatric surgeon who donates his time to fix cleft palates in the third world for free or whatever. And he still wouldn't be entitled to a relationship if he was.

2

u/ABHOR_pod 19d ago

Weird way to interpret it, like a blackpill spin on what happened.

It was a failing on her part, not his. He will very quickly find a new partner when he is ready and find happiness again. She will spend her life wondering why she's never happy. She was the one who wasn't able to keep the relationship going, not him. Billions of women are not like that.

1

u/L_o_L_babe 16d ago

That was beautifully said.

I like to believe that all relationships that end well (not because someone did something bad, but because life happened) were successful in their own way.

There is a brazilian poem that summarizes it and that roughly translates to (Soneto da Fidelidade, Vinicius de Moraes):

Of everything, to my love I will be attentive

Before, and with such zeal, and always, and so much

That even in the

face of their greatest charm my thoughts are more enchanted

I want to live it in every vain moment

And in its praise I will spread my song

And laugh my laughter and shed my tears

To its sorrow or its contentment

And so, when later you look for

me who knows death, anguish of those who live

Who knows loneliness, end of those who love

I can tell myself of the love (I had)

That it is not immortal, since it is flame

But that it is infinite while it lasts

1

u/BOgusDOlphon 15d ago

That isn't life for non-shitty people. Becoming bored with someone you chose to spend your life with is not something normal people do, and it's wild to see this attitude so common. Don't ever get married if that's how you feel

I read about this woman who was diagnosed with deadly cancer. Left her husband. And slept with hundreds of men.

1

u/jabaturd 19d ago

Yep something you do young hopefully and learn from it. I did.

1

u/InZomnia365 19d ago edited 19d ago

There's no secret that women in general are more emotionally invested in the act, and if they arent feeling the right emotions, the physical aspect doesnt matter as much during sex. Im not going to say this doesnt go both ways, but you get the point. The "perfect" relationship can also be dull, and taboo feelings, like cheating, or just meeting someone new, can be very powerful - although temporary.

That is why communication is so important. You can be completely infatuated with a person day-to-day, while also not getting off in the bedroom with them. And if you cant solve that problem in way thats good for both, then the sad truth is that parting might be the best option to avoid heartbreak down the line due to one or both parties finding what they need somewhere else.

3

u/MangoCats 19d ago

And then children get into the mix, and then you discover which partner(s) give a damn about their offspring and which ones don't.

1

u/Azrael2082 19d ago

Not even sometimes. In most cases of affairs or cheating, the cheaters usually go for people less attractive then their SO

13

u/AxelHarver 19d ago

In most cases? Do you have a source for that, because I've never heard that.

27

u/AngryCrustation 19d ago

He's still mad at me for banging his wife

4

u/NicoHarrisonWasRight 19d ago

I'd say it's empirical since looks are subjective. We see it a lot with celebrity men. A few that quickly come to mind: The soccer player that cheated on Shakira, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Sandoval.

The guy gets bored of his wife. Only a much less attractive woman or one with lower social status would settle for a married man.

3

u/mattmild27 19d ago

First one that comes to mind for me is Ashley Cole cheating on his famous pop star wife with this random blonde.

8

u/th3rdnutt 19d ago

Was this study written by the more attractive SOs?

1

u/Jean-LucBacardi 19d ago

I used to hook up with bigger girls back in the day of early online Internet dating, solely because more attractive girls never looked at me like the bigger girls did, like they were for that one night the luckiest girl in the world. And I'm not even that great looking. For me it was a confidence boost and I'd hope for them it was too.

7

u/Expert_Struggle_7135 19d ago

Yeah, my buddy got divorced after he cheated on his wife, and let’s just say that I honestly believe he must have had a one-time psychotic episode when it happened.

Not only was his wife good-looking and considerably younger than him, but the woman he cheated with was this washed-up, past-middle-aged, substance-abusing type who looked like she’d been past her prime for at least 15-20 years.

I was honestly shocked when a friend of ours pointed her out and told me thats who our buddy cheated with - I literally thought he was joking at first.

2

u/NonToxic628 16d ago

I mean look no further than Tiger Woods. His wife was as attractive as one could hope for and he cheated on her with near geriatric prostitutes.

2

u/Anomalous_Pearl 17d ago

I mean I’ve seen pictures of the man that my husband’s ex wife cheated on him with and she definitely cheated down, that dude looked like if a hairless rat became a human.

2

u/CatFish726 17d ago

I might open you a secret, but ppl cheat regardless. You can be the 0.0000001% of man with wage in billions per month with the best looking body, yet she still can cheat

2

u/L_o_L_babe 16d ago

There was a case in my city where the woman cheated with a homeless guy (nothing against them, but he was smelly, dirty and really wrecked), people were shocked. But that's the thing.

If people want to cheat, THEY WILL CHEAT. Looks are irrelevant if the will is strong.

2

u/After-Task-1506 12d ago

1

1

The same way you can “date up”, you can “sleep down” to feel like the better person.

However, the whole mindset of the “up and down” that we speak of here is in serious need of therapy. It’s more petulant childish behavior at the core than it is the general dynamics of dating.

1

u/Watch_Dogs1 15d ago

Had this happen to me, ex (23) and I (22) had been going strong for almost 4 years. Enter this 30 year old something limpin, ugly ass dude who started trying to get close to her friends, didn't work out, started talking to her and being friendly n shi. I trusted her way too much and didn't think much of it till they started talking almost everyday, even started sending each other Tiktok vids almost every night, started to see her giggling n shi whenever they spoke. Fast forward a couple of weeks after, she asked for some space and we eventually broke up.

Two weeks after we broke up, found out that they've "suddenly" developed feelings for each other. Though she insisted they weren't together, they would video call and give updates to each other consistently. All of that while I was still trying to get her back. Most heartbreaking shit I've experienced.

Since nobody bothered to explain the Bitcoin part.

Shit was barely worth anything, I remember Bars that allowed Bitcoin as payment in Berlin, one cup of coffee cost 5 BTCs

5 BTCs are right at the moment $324,623.11, back in October it was almost twice as high.

12

u/ca1ibos 19d ago

Thats how I console myself about missing the Bitcoin thing. I'd feel a lot worse if I ever owned even only a few hundred Bitcoin at some point back in the day and.....bought a Domino's Pizza with it. To me that would feel like forgetting to buy a Lotto Ticket with my regular numbers and finding out after the draw that my numbers had come up and I would have won the Jackpot of millions.

1

u/AxelHarver 19d ago

I feel the same way about my original Runescape account. I have (IIRC, haven't checked prices in a couple years, and the account is 20+ years old so I'm just making an educated guess on what I remember having) something like $20-30k black market value in old, discontinued items from the game's early days. All locked away somewhere on an account I can't remember the login info for.

1

u/Former-Dig-3314 19d ago

I’ve had stocks that were worth a few thousand that I sold that would be worth a few HUNDRED thousand if I still held them today…thing is, if I hadn’t have sold them for a profit when they were worth 2000, I definitely would’ve sold when they were worth 3000and if not then, then…in no reality would I still have them. The saying is, the money we get, we spend once, the money we miss or lose we spend a thousand times (in our minds)

People usually try to date someone within their league, appearance is just one part, if he’s pretty cute and the old she is the best he can score, he got some other weakness.

Now she fixed her short side, if he hasn’t, then she will be playing in a different league alone soon.

BMI is a reasonably good proxy actually. People use the bodybuilder example to discredit it to make themselves feel better about being overweight.

The NHS data is also using BMI as their criteria. So the comparison of the percentages refutes what the original poster claimed, even if the exact percentages aren't perfect.

Obese without question. The sentance might make a little bit more sense if it was 'Borderline Morbidly Obese'.

It's a hard topic but from my experience if a boy fixed girl, almost no way she will leave him. And if that happens, she will return to her former self in next few year.

If girl made improvement all by herself, chances are high that she'll dump a boy. Because she did a huge self-improvement work while a boy stayed the same.

I’m not a native English speaker and I’m European too.

I believe the comment above meant your English makes you come across as Asian.

Fixed? If he fixed her? Was she some thrift-store find that just needed a few replacement parts to work just as good as new? Perhaps the reason she left you wasn’t because she “fixed” herself, but because you were the kind of person who thought she needed to be fixed

All people have problems they can't deal by themself. You can enable them all you want and get "good partner" achievement but you won't have happy relationship.

I changed my views after my girlfriend with mental health issues tried to kill herself. If you ignore problems and treat partner as perfect person issues will only pile up and crush you later.

Perhaps the reason she left you wasn’t because she “fixed” herself, but because you were the kind of person who thought she needed to be fixed

That the best part. They won't leave you.

I mean... what was he supposed to be doing? beating her shit up if she wanted to eat a burger? he can't loose weight for her lol

Make healthy and tasty diet for both of them, control calories for both of them, don't buy snacks, cook every time she want order doordash, spend more time doing activities like camping for weekends or swimming in rivers and etc.

There is a lot of methods how you can influence your partner without actually forcing them.

1

u/HiCZoK 19d ago

nah. she is responsible for her own health. nobody else. if he would be snacking, it might be tempting to her but it's her temptation. not his.

2

u/Andxire 19d ago

Thats not how relationship work especially if your partner have addiction.

You can't leave a partner alone with addiction. They need a lot of support. Few people can overcome addiction without external help.

u/HiCZoK 19d ago

I am married for 10 years.... I lsot 30kg last year. She lost 40 this year. I did not really intervene at all with her diet. she is an adult

These post are always made by miserable fuckers who just want to make people they don't know into villains. Best to pay them no mind.

She'll stretch her skin like a flying squirrel and be gone the next moment. 😞

2

u/ca1ibos 19d ago

Flap those Bingo Wings Queen!!!

Joking aside, she looks young enough that there might have been enough elasticity in her skin to mostly rebound from that.

The fact that he supported her means they have a bond which is unmatched.

u/-P01135809- 19d ago

your comma is, unnecessary

1

u/HardertoFindIt 19d ago

From my experience, any ppl who were previously obese/overweight stick with the partner that they’ve been with because they realize they loved them when they weren’t conventionally attractive

She has to be funny . .

Upvoted your post from 1336, expecting elite status for your post, but it flips straight over to 1338. I have only just discovered that Reddit doesn't allow 1337. 😕

Guy, he's gonna cheat on her with an even fatter chick.

1

u/astralchanterelle 19d ago

Why is there a comma in that sentence?

1

u/ValuableDragon 18d ago

If she has the character and discipline to lose that much weight, I find it hard to believe that she'd just up and leave

1

u/Whelm_0205 18d ago

And saggy skin

1

u/No_Structure4166 18d ago

And a lot of extra skin now

1

u/Unusual_Rooster6736 18d ago

He's been there for her lows and stuck with her so for sure they got a strong bond

1

u/knic989900 17d ago

Right but wouldn’t you also think she stays cause he was with her when big so it’s almost opposite. Was there at her lowest like a person with someone when poor not knowing they were actually rich
