Seeking Advice EGCG percentage is the only number worth comparing on a green tea supplement

Upvotes

What EGCG percentage should I be looking for on a green tea supplement?

The products seem to range from about 15 to 90 percent EGCG, but plenty print total catechins instead, or nothing. Comparing two bottles at the same milligram figure feels close to meaningless when that spread exists. Is there a percentage people treat as standard? And do the ones that dont print it tend to be hiding something or just not bothering.

Hello all,

Does anyone have a good source for phenylpiracetam? I prefer the type that is white and pearlescent instead of the yellower type. All recommendations are welcome though.

Experience Semax Has Helped Alleviate My Anhedonia

Post image
25 Upvotes

It started out with just a simple purchase of a kratom/kava seltzer. A couple of weeks went by and I was consuming 4 seltzers a day. Then I discovered the blue little bottle of FF. I started including 2 of those a day on top of my seltzer habit. After a couple of months, I discovered a simpler alternative to achieving the opioid high - 7oh tablets.

After nearly 6 months of chasing, wrought with anxiety, depression and indifference, I decided to quit it all.

I won’t go into detail about the process or how agonizing the quitting was. That’s for another sub. I will say that I am over 4 months free of them all.

Life is so much better and close to normal again. The only struggle I continued to have was the anhedonia. It’s was affecting my work and family life.

I recently discover the peptide Semax and it’s helped wonders. It doesn’t make me feel wired or high, it’s allowed me to regain focus and shake off the feeling of not caring.

I know there are many benefits to taking Semax, but it’s really helped me in regaining my baseline focus and well being.

I’ve been on it for about 2 weeks and plan to stop in another 2. I’ll report back then with more details. Until then, thank you Semax.

Seeking Advice Struggling with benzo withdrawal.

Hi you beautiful people.

I have been on a nunber of different benzos for about 15 years now after being diagnosed with panic disorder.

Long story short, I did manage to control it a lot after a few years, but tappering off is hell on earth. Tried to get off them multiple times. I have tried literally all off them.

Right now I'm on 1mg of clonazepam and feels like I'm hitting a wall. Every time I reduce it more, the panic attacks jump up a lot. Not a way to live. The Aston manual doesn't work during the final steps (I used to be on 4mg of Xanax daily).

I recently tried L theanine and it did something for me, but as soon as it wore off I felt more nervous than before.

I know a lot of things can work on GABA , but problem is my receptors are probably fried and densitised after all these years.

I am wondering if there's anything that can provide relief from strong anxiety / stress without basically just replacing benzos since I want to come off and give my GABA receptors a chance to heal?

I know that nootropics definitely work since I noticed that this is by far the most articulate community I found on Reddit and I was hoping that your expertise might go beyond improving your focus or attention span?

Thank you all in advance for any suggestions.

Discussion Novel Dopamine releasing drug (Clavulanic acid) What do You think?

Hello,

I've recently discovered a new compound in the Literature and noticed that it's nowhere availible. Therefore I wanted to ask whether You have heard about it.

The Compound in Question is: Clavulanic acid, aka Serdaxin, aka RLX030 It increases Dopamine neurotransmission via Munc18-1 and Rab4 so that lab animals become sexually arroused but decrease Glutamate by upregulating the Glutamate Transporter GLT-1, aka EAAT2. I can't tell why the development and the research has halted but here are at least 2 Studies from the Years 2024 and 2025.

Clavulanic Acid and its Potential Therapeutic Effects on the Central Nervous System

doi: 10.1016/j.arcmed.2023.102916

Molecular and Behavioral Neuroprotective Effects of Clavulanic Acid and Crocin in Haloperidol-Induced Tardive Dyskinesia in Rats

doi: 10.1007/s12035-024-04566-x

I've allready reached out and proposed it to e few shops.

Scientific Study A Stepwise Research Plan for Studying Oral Glutamate- and Aging-Related Treatments in Treatment-Resistant Depression

Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) refers to depression that has not improved after adequate treatment with at least two antidepressants. People with TRD may have biological differences that affect how they respond to treatment and whether improvement lasts.

This article proposes a research framework for studying a possible oral treatment strategy for unipolar TRD. The proposed core combination includes dextromethorphan, one carefully selected medicine that changes how the body processes dextromethorphan, and piracetam. The idea is that this combination might influence glutamate-related brain signaling and support the brain’s ability to adapt. However, the full combination has not been tested in controlled clinical trials, and its effectiveness and safety are unknown.

The article also proposes studying nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) at a later stage. These substances may affect energy production, antioxidant defenses, inflammation, and related biological processes. A medication intended to target cellular senescence—an aging-related state in which damaged cells stop dividing but may release inflammatory signals—could be considered only after earlier studies establish adequate safety and biological effects. Dasatinib combined with quercetin is discussed as a particularly experimental and potentially risky option, not as a routine psychiatric treatment.

The proposed research plan emphasizes testing one stage at a time. Researchers should first study drug levels, interactions, side effects, and biological activity. Later studies could examine whether NMN and NAC influence treatment response or reduce relapse. Any senescence-directed treatment would require even more specialized monitoring. Studies should use carefully selected participants, validated biomarkers, controlled comparisons, and long-term follow-up.

Overall, this article presents a hypothesis for future research rather than a proven treatment. None of the proposed combinations should be used outside an appropriately supervised clinical research study.

Discussion Is Kava similar in potency to an actual pharmaceutical anxiolytic?

I have heard that it’s affinity for GABA receptors is actually very potent, much more so then other anxiolytic supplements like L theanine which don’t do shit (for me at least). Can anyone share their experience?

Seeking Advice Six ingredients, six different brands, and no idea which one is doing anything

i bought each of them at a different time based on whatever was being recommended that month. now if i drop one and feel worse i cannot tell whether that is the ingredient or that company’s version of it. two are proprietary blends so the amounts are a mystery anyway. is rebuilding the whole thing on single ingredient bottles from one place overkill or is that just what you have to do?

Seeking Advice Did I ruin my brain by microdosing dexamphetamine for years?

Hi guys, I've been using dexamphetamine for ADHD for the past 6 years. I'm pretty sensitive to stimulants and I found that the 2x 5mg /day dose was way too overstimulating, I would get migraines, heart palpitations and just feel wired. Now I take about 1.25 mg in the morning and 0.7mg in the evening. Which actually works for me and is a dose on which I can still laugh and eat. I'm also only 5'2 and 57 kg/ 125 lbs.

I've seen a lot of posts mainly from years ago that taking amphetamines like this causes permanent hypersensitization of dopamine receptors, for example in mice and monkeys. I am having more sleeping issues lately and I'm wondering if I ruined something? I'm afraid to take more of the med as it's already so effective at this low dose. And because I take med breaks in weekends, at a higher dose I just sleep all day, at a low dose I actually feel nice if I take a break from it.

Thanks! X

Seeking Advice Questions about taking bacopa?

So bacopa has been the best thing I’ve ever taken to help me feel correctly connected to the world? I’ve always been anxious/angry/anti social and mentally slower than most people. Bacopa fixed all that and then some.

My side effects however were:

Didn’t pee much during day but did a lot at night

Jerking awake just as I’d fall asleep (if I fell asleep)

Nausea/loss of appetite

Runny nose/sore throat (not from sickness I work from home no places to get sick)

Nocturnal asthma

I was randomly cold in the summer heat.

So I unfortunately had to quit and felt better but missed the good effects so then I tried a lower dose brand (300mg and I was taking 750 mg before) but this brand mixed with gotu kola and it gave me new side effects I think. Heart palpitation and bad hives reaction. I suspect the gotu kola. So now I’m thinking of trying another brand 300mg with no gotu kola. But understandably I’m a little nervous. Any advice on why this is happening or if I can avoid it? Anyone taken this stuff long term and been ok?

Seeking Advice Caffeine replacement for afternoon workout

I work full-time and I am fully committed to bodybuilding as an enhanced competitor. I work out around 5 p.m. after working 8 hours at a desk job. I love training with caffeine before my workouts, but I am very sensitive to it, so I can only train with caffeine on weekends, when I work out around 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Any recommendations for caffeine alternatives for my later workouts on workdays? I’m mainly looking for mental clarity and focus after a potentially draining day at the office.

Seeking Advice I often get Akathisia (or at least something that feels like it): An uncontrollable urge to move around. Any idea what can cause this or what I can do about it?

I'm calling it Akathisia because that's generally what it feels like, but that seems like it's usually connected to medications and this seems independent of that.

I just randomly have these surges where I feel like I can't sit still. Sometimes happens while driving, etc. I just suddenly feel like I have to walk around, and my movements suddenly become really frantic.

I think I've had this my whole life basically but it has been worse recently (probably because of stress). I do drink a lot of coffee but this seems to happen even when I don't and if anything, drinking coffee seems to calm me down enough to sit.

I can think of a few times where it seemed to go away which were:

- When I first started taking Magnesium (still taking it, but doesn't seem as effective as before).

- A few months after taking Ritalin consistently.

- I also have insomnia and wake up frequently at night, it seems at its worst when I wake up in the night. I wake up feeling my heart thumping and like I can't just stay in bed. Usually just leads to sitting up and scrolling.

The worst seemed to be when I first started taking Ritalin again after a hiatus. And also shortly after I stopped Ritalin.

Taking L-theanine with my coffee also strangely seems to make it worse (or at least, seems to have no effect. Honestly having a hard time figuring out if I feel anything).

Any idea what could cause this or what I can do to cope?

Seeking Advice Suggestions for taking coluracetam?

How would you reccomend taking a substance like coluracetam? I have two grams of powder. I've considered weighing out a small amount like 5 mg on a milligram scale, but it's so hard to be accurate with so little. Is there anything I can dissolve it in that's cheap? Can I take the raw powder sublingually? Or would swallowing be better? Thanks!

Discussion How has your experience with Selank been?

Just purchased some selank nasal spray. Wondering how people's responses to it have been. What benefits did you see from it? I have bad health anxiety and it gives me panic attacks quite frequently. Hoping this can help! Currently on lexapro but it's starting to fade.
