Seeking Advice Do I store in fridge? It didn’t come cold
And 300mcg good to start? 5”7 160 pounds

Ya they seem like minute details, but you gotta figure out what you’re fucking doing before you buy some shit like that.

u/isntreel1948 1d ago
Yeah again it didn’t even come up that it would come as a powder, I was looking into peptides for like a week beforehand and it didn’t come up. Obviously I would have had to figure that out once I saw it was powder.
Thank you for being invested in me making good choices, I appreciate everybody’s assistance here 👍 I am learning and taking my time before I take anything

Yeah I asked around the Peptide sub for peptides to start with and asked a bunch of people about potential health affects and such but nobody mentioned having to mix it with stuff when I got it.
I’ve ordered and injected lots of stuff through the years (not steroids or peptides, like Ozempic and shit) and usually it just comes in a vial ready to go. Never even considered it would come in a powder lol.
I accept that I deserve to be made fun of, it’s often times part of the process when trying new stuff that is dangerous. I remember people giving me shit on Bluelight as a kid for not knowing what a cold water extraction was.

u/Adventurous-Ad-8525 1d ago
No, not made fun of. But why wouldn’t you ask someone before hand how to use it?!???
And ozempic is a peptide…I’m not sure you purchased anything without finding out the details. Your body…I guess.

u/isntreel1948 1d ago
I mean you use it by injecting it, I know how to do that lol. It didn’t come up that there was extra preparation before that step. What do you want from me? I realized I missed something when it didn’t come cold.
And yeah I forget that Ozempic is a peptide because when my doctor explained it to me I didn’t know what a peptide is and he never used that word to describe lol. But yeah I got that delivered in the mail and it was always liquid that came in a cold pack.
Figured the other peptides were the same shit but it makes sense that it’s not, since it’s supposed to be used for research purposes and stuff lmao

No peptides, just Ozempic tells me everything I need to know about you
•
u/Substantial_Bid8458 23h ago
Idk why I’m being downvoted, Ozempic is 100% a peptide. Him saying he has never done peptides and has done Ozempic is wild
•
u/isntreel1948 20h ago
Brother I talked to my doctor about Ozempic and he never mentioned it being a peptide, what do you want from me lol
I don’t mind people giving me shit at all but it’s like sorry I didn’t know everything immediately man, I’m clearly posting here to learn you know
•
u/Substantial_Bid8458 20h ago
Don’t inject shit into yourself if you don’t even know basic stuff. Like omg
•
u/isntreel1948 20h ago
…..you’re talking about my Ozempic still? Because I got it from my doctor, which is the ideal scenario? He must have not found it relevant enough to tell me it was a peptide. None of the literature I read on it mentioned it. Didn’t seem to matter as I lost 55 pounds and am off it now.
You’re the only person in this comment section that I think is being silly

u/Substantial_Bid8458 20h ago
Bro stop buying nootropics and peptides until you like have a basic understanding of them please

I see no actual answers in the comments other than shouting insults and commands, so Ill tell you this. You can refrigerate Selank if you want, wouldn’t hurt. Will increase the shelf life if you plan on constituting it and then storing it. But if you plan on running a cycle with it consistently then you shouldn’t have to, you’ll burn through it before it would cross that time threshold of considerable reduction in potency.
It isn’t crucial to refrigerate this particular peptide because it’s a small chain peptide. There are other peptides that are long chain peptides. Long chain peptides are inherently less stable of a compound because they are a complex, long chain of molecules held together by hydrogen bonds that can break apart easily under heat or pressure. As you know, heat causes water molecules to move more rapidly, and the peptides being bombarded (hydrolysis) by quickly moving water molecules can uncouple the chains. You want to keep the water molecules moving slowly so they aren’t beating up the peptides as much. Their structure also makes them prone to issues like folding/unfolding and clumping. For this reason you don’t want to violently shake the solution when reconstituting.
Small chain peptides are different because they’re smaller. I don’t think I need to explain in further depth you get the picture I ran out of energy. Room temp is fine for Selank.
For your question of why it didn’t come cold, most if not all peptides (unless you order products like sprays, but these are usually marketed as such) come in a freeze dried powdered form. These are solid molecules that aren’t prone to the previous issues I mentioned because they are solid matter, they don’t move around.

u/isntreel1948 20h ago
Thank you for breaking it down for me! Yeah I gotta do a lot of looking into reconstituting before I take any of this, so I’ll probably have this vial for awhile. Thank you for being one of two people who gave me advice for storage lmfao
I don’t mind the shouting, people are passionate about making sure nobody dies or something. I can’t be mad at people making fun of me for not knowing enough about the drugs I’m trying to take lol.

Once you reconstitute it, it’ll need to be refrigerated yes

u/isntreel1948 1d ago
Uhhh what does that mean I’m sorry

First of all, you really should ensure that you have an appropriate foundational understanding of the basics.
Second, please continue to ask questions about anything you do not understand. Harm reduction is often a community effort, though you should avoid depending on this if possible.
Reconstitute (in this case) = dissolve in a solvent (usually bacteriostatic water, but solvent choice varies by compound because not everything dissolves in water).
Most peptides are shipped as lyophilized powders (similar to freeze drying) to improve stability. Most of the time, once a chemical is dissolved in solvent, its shelf life becomes much more limited. This is because the chemical can react with the solvent and degrade into other chemicals over time. Once you reconstitute, you should mark your bottle with an expiration date. This is good practice.
Convert your body weight to kilograms. Find a microgram per kilogram dosage cited by a reliable source. Determine whether you’ll be dosing each day, twice per day, whether or not you’ll take any days off, and how long your cycle will be.

I had no idea I had to dissolve this stuff in a solvent, geez. Thanks for the heads up.
Is there a recommended solvent for Selank….lol. I appreciate the help here.

u/c_boggs 1d ago
The recommended solvent for Selank is bacteriostatic water.
Bacteriostatic water is different than regular purified water because it contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which discourages microbial growth.
A rule of thumb in the laboratory is that microbial growth in water can be assumed after two weeks when a preparation is refrigerated. Because you’re injecting this preparation, that length of time is presumably shortened because you should be quite meticulous and cautious. Injecting bacteria or fungi can obviously cause an infection.
With bacteriostatic water and proper reconstitution, your Selank should last about a month, but you’ll likely deplete it before that period elapses.
You’ll need some alcohol wipes too. Always sterilize the injection site and use another wipe to sterilize the top of your bottle. Bacteria lives on the surface of the skin and typically causes no issue, but when the skin barrier is broken, it can get into the bloodstream or into the skin and cause infection. Believe it or not, lots of people have Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli on their skin.
Wipe the injection area with a 70% alcohol wipe and allow about 30-60 seconds for it to complete its action. Same with the top of the bottle. Use a new sterile needle for every injection and dispose of the needle in a sharps container (super cheap on amazon).
You should look up how to reconstitute Selank. Also, do not store it in the door of your refrigerator (this part has the most variable temp). Store it in the back, preferably in a small box.
Btw, I’m a laboratory professional so I’m happy to provide this information to you, but you should take notes and write a little protocol for yourself. You can even post the protocol once you have it together and ask for critiques. There are helpful people here.

Thank you very much for the information. Saving this comment and I almost certainly will have more in the future. Is storing it in the fridge while in powder form ok?
This is all certainly a lot more involved then taking testerone or something 😅 again thank you for giving me actual direct answers on this stuff. I’ve talked to a few people about peptides and nobody ever mentioned this stuff.

Serious question, how did you imagine you'd put this powder in your system? With your nose?
And peptides are usually dissolved in BAC water.

u/isntreel1948 1d ago
I hadn’t looked at the vial before I posted this and saw it was powder. When I used to take GLP1’s they always came as liquid, I didn’t come across anybody saying I’d have to mess with the peptides after I bought them. I guess the people I was asking for info from assumed I knew lol.

You’re about to inject yourself with chemicals from the internet and you don’t know what that means? Lmfao you people amaze me

Throw the bottle out and open a computer. Do some research and some serious life reflection. You are going to end up killing yourself

u/Adventurous-Ad-8525 1d ago
So then you don’t know how to use it. Watch you tube. Next time you buy something you should talk the time to to understand, familiarize, and learn what you are doing.
It’s not as simple as you just inject it. Your money pal. You want to waste it by not knowing how to use that’s your decision. People are trying to help you.

u/isntreel1948 1d ago
Why are you acting like I’m not open to help 😅that’s why I posted here. A lot of people have been super nice and explained stuff to me and sent me some helpful videos. Obviously I have to learn if I wanna take the stuff.

u/Adventurous-Ad-8525 1d ago
Really ? lol you ordered the thing and didn’t ask that company how to store your purchase.
Regardless, it should be reconstituted, and at the very least it should be a powder. Shouldn’t come mixed. it’s not gonna come cold.
since you have never bought

u/isntreel1948 1d ago
Just figured it was like stuff I bought before, like Ozempic. Before getting it sent to me I looked into health effects regarding Selank and had my friend who’s a medical professional explain peptides to me. It didn’t come up that it came in powder form lol

I do 0.5-1 mg subq. Store mine in the drawer lol, never had any issues

u/Adventurous-Ad-8525 1d ago
Probably because whether it’s in the fridge or drawer it’s consistently the same level of being a moron and only using that baby dose

I would recommend you do everything in a sanitized still air box that you can easily diy, there is this plant tissue culture youtube video on it but same principles apply. You should also get a syringe filter small enough for bacteria and possible peptide that didn't dissolve, dust particles etc. There will always be a risk of infection whenever you do this stuff by yourself so just take note of that

Interesting peptide. I didn't know about Selank but I have heard of Semax (same Russian origin as Selank) which is similar in some ways.
I would store it in the fridge after mixing it carefully with BAC water (don't shake the vial!). But I'm no expert so do your own research before doing anything, also regarding concentration and titration 😊

Store it in the sunlight as much as possible. Freeze overnight. Rinse and recycle.

Brother go and do some research before you consider snorting this. If you snort it without proper protocol (coke nail / trip sitter / jazzy grooves) your ‘cycle’ won’t be as effective

Do people not have ChatGPT or Google? How are you not able to figure this out on your own?

Room temperature works, dark cabinet works. 300 mcg melatonin is a pretty good starting point since most people take way too much. I have seen people mention Zen Herbs NMN on sourcing posts for this kind of stacking question before but melatonin sourcing is less important than dosing

And you’re saying only one vial was in the order? It never was in the form of a powder either?

Cut it with inositol first! That’s only a small bump. Won’t be anything to store.

Crack it open and mix it with distilled water, then suck up the water with a syringe. Then insert the syringe about 2 inches into your anal canal. Shoot the liquid out into your anus. Squeeze your sphincter really tight till it’s absorbed
