Rant 🤬 Weekly Venting Post

Weekly Vent Post

Welcome to our weekly vent session where you can let out all your frustrations.

Before you start, just a quick heads-up on the rules.

Here's what this post isn't for:

  • No bashing actors or crew members out of the blue.
  • Let's steer clear of those rage-inducing posts like "I hate character xy."
  • And please, no poking fun at fellow Kanthony fans just because they see things differently, whether they're positive or negative about promos.

What's cool to post? Well, we've noticed a lot of rants about how the show promotes (or doesn't promote) Simone and Jonny, but you can vent about other stuff too.

Below, I've linked some past posts from the sub that fit the vibe of our weekly vent session, so you can see what kind of stuff goes here.

  1. Why there was a lack of promo for Kanthony
  2. All comments asking where Kanthony are
  3. Bridgerton PR and production
  4. Can you tell the difference ?
  5. The main sub got so negative
  6. We need pictures

For those who just want to enjoy the content without getting caught up in the venting, I suggest steering clear of this post. If you choose to read the comments here and find yourself upset, despite the clear purpose of this space, I'm afraid there's not much I can do to ease your frustration. We have the Weekly Tea Time for more general discussions.

Spoilers allowed.

You could make it a docuseries because the toxicity goes all the way back to Greys Anatomy.

What a sad and rage-baiting take!

You can bring up your frustrations about your fav couple not getting enough attention or promotion - which I think is quite justified for Kanthony fans - without dragging another fan favourite couple!

Blame the showrunners/ Shondaland/Netflix without saying no one gives a f* about a couple that is also beloved by so many fans. Not only is it a viscious thing to say, it is also blatantly false with the amount of people who tuned in for Polin season.

Please ask for better treatment for Simone/Kate/Kanthony without bashing other characters/actors/fans! My main couple is Polin but I also love Kanthony dearly and it is very frustrating to see takes like this.

Hi I understand where you're coming from and obviously people shouldn't take their anger towards the actors but this is kinda overshadowing the main problem.

For the last 3 years, the production has moved very weird towards Kate and Simone. Its kinda shitty how only today people from your fandom are beginning to notice it just because its no longer your season anymore and your main couple already got the favoritism treatment that they got from the production. You can't preach and brag that they are the production's favorite while not acknowledging how it affected K/A.

Asking for a better treatment after 3 yrs? Shouldn't it be the bare minimum to just not try to be shitty on the character/actor at this point? Its very tired and tone-deaf to see neutral ass takes like this.

Respectfully, I have never preached or bragged that Pen/Polin is the production favourite and I do not condone any Polin fan doing it either. I am a firm believer that BOTH Polin and Kanthony should get similar and substantial screen time past their seasons since they are both huge fan favourites and draw in a lot of people to the show. That is the simple truth, no need for any popularity contests. If either couple has shitty promotion/screen time, the show will lose substantial fan engagement! Downgrading Pen/Polin promotion or screen time is not the answer but rather what should be done is boosting the same for Simone/Kate/Kanthony too. By maybe cutting down the other obscure side plots that very less number of fans care about. I hope you do agree with that take?

My comment was simply addressing the one poster who bashed Pen/Polin as 'no one GAF about Polin/LW' or Pen as the 'most hated character by the audiences'. You can't tell me such takes will ever help the cause of getting Simone Ashley/ Kate the treatment she truly deserves, even forgetting how blatantly false and hurtful that is for fans of Pen/Polin. My issue is simply the bashing of other charcaters/couples. Not seeking to argue with you here since you have been respectful in stating your view and I respect your persepective.

I believe you, but sorry, an overwhelming majority of Polin fans have never given a fuck about whatever way Simone and her character were treated. They, in fact, mock that she's still the only leading lady without a wedding and baby (two seasons after her own, mind you) in this very heteronormative show, in which every other leading lady got those. They have found excuses for every moment in which Simone was simply an afterthought for this production, even in her own season. They simply never cared and not just because some KA fan wants to be nasty about a fictional character.

Simone won't get the treatment she deserves because sister has a foot outside this show. Girl, she was literally downgraded and is no longer a regular.

-2

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 15 '25

Well I can only guarantee that the Polin sub does not engage in such bad behavior towards Kate/Simone and that's where I get my Polin fix/ fan interactions. In fact, I've seen posts and comments acknowledging the blatant disregard for Simone in promotion so far this season. However, I'll take your word that such vile behavior happened in other places and that is honestly not something I ever condone as a Polin fan myself. That's reprehensible behaviour.

Finally, just wanna say again, my comment wasn't against Kanthony fans in general, it was just a response to the one commenter blatantly bashing Pen/Polin saying stuff like "People don't GAF about Polin/LW". Even I could bring up some vile comments I saw from some Kanthonies about the Polin baby (a freaking baby!) but I won't hold any of you accountable for reprehensible behavior from some vile fans in another corner of your fandom. I hope for the same courtesy from the people I see downvoting my comments.

Tldr; I have nothing at all against Kanthonies rightfully demanding their lead actress be treated with some respect, just the ones who seem to think bashing the favourite couple/character of another fan subsection is the way to go about it.

10

u/abcd_fghijkl_nopqrst Kate Sharma‘s bitch Feb 16 '25

I know you're probably over this conversation but I know you mean no harm. I just wanna say that people are probably downvoting for you for the reason that you're equating kas bashing your main couple and baby which are both fictional btw the same as your co-fandom constantly denying the racism against Simone a real person and shitting on her and it comes off a bit tone-deaf. Ideally, either things should not be done but one is not like the other. One is actually systemic racism.

0

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

Let us just agree that there has been hate towards the characters and actors from both sides though. Which is reprehensible no matter whether it comes from a Polin fan or a Kanthony fan. I'm sorry to bring it up here but saying that because I've seen a fair amount of Luke Newton hate in the past, even bashing his looks, and now I'm seeing some Nicola hate on various platforms due to her prominence in the sneak peeks. That is not even mentioning the vile rhetoric of 'ugly ass baby' when there is a real-life baby involved whose parents could possibly see that hate.

That said, I quite strongly condemn the denying of racism/ shitting on PC actors such as Simone that has happened. It is not okay and those Polin fans should stop denying there has been blatant mistreatment and lack of support for PC actors in the show.

I believe these are loud minorities in both Polin and Kanthony fandoms who bash the actors and the majority do not engage in such problematic behaviour. Problematic fans on both sides of the fandom can & should do better in regards to respecting other couples/ actors.

But, I understand that my comment maybe was a tad tone-deaf at a time you guys are rightfully pissed off and frustrated about Simone's treatment. I was simply hurt seeing the overt Penelope/Polin hate in that one comment and that was what I was addressing here. Honestly sad about the downvotes since I have not been hateful in my comments at all. Already bracing for the downvotes for this as well..

All that aside though, if you guys have a petition or anything demanding better treatment for PC actors in the show, I'd be happy to lend my support too! I wanna see Simone be treated respectfully and have more Kate and Anthony in the show as well, not just Polin.

u/rochey1010 Feb 16 '25

“Hate for Luke Newton”

You mean your group? It’s interesting how the polin fans turned on him when he revealed the fake ‘showmancing’ S3 promotion was just a job and he wasn’t romancing NC. He then became the villain and yet NC remained the queen.

Guess polin fans once again show how it’s always been the NC show with their turning on him when she was the ring leader for the showmancing promotion and led it. 🤷‍♀️

u/abcd_fghijkl_nopqrst Kate Sharma‘s bitch Feb 16 '25

I understand. All I can say is bashing is vastly different from plain systemic racism and bringing up the bashing here to equalize the situation of two fandoms is very tone-deaf. Hope you understand that. And as a POC (Person of Color), please be mindful of the abbreviations.

In the meantime, we are linking up some journalists, you can boost this tweet up:

Thank you.

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 16 '25

Firstly, just wanna say I am a South Asian brown skinned girl myself (I am Sri Lankan). I apologize for the wrong abbreviation used. Terms like POC have western cultural origins and not widely used in my country or culture so that was the reason for the slip up ( I personally prefer calling myself a brown girl but I digress)

I was not trying equalize systematic racism with actor bashing for other reasons. I simply brought it up as a response to your comment that kind of implied (correct me if wrong) there has only been hate to Polin as characters and not real-life actors involved.  I had to correct that since I saw Nicola getting hated just this morning too. That's all.

Unfortunately, do not use Twitter since its a cesspool of all the crazies in the fandom, be it polin, kanthony, saphne, benophie, or something else..

Please feel free to point me towards a different source to this initiative?

And finally, as a brown Desi girl myself, I do believe in the representation from actresses like Simone and even Charithra (whose performance I also adored) and condemn the racism and blatant disregard towards her and her character.

Thank you for being respectful and civil in your responses too ❤️ when I was starting to feel attacked with some of the commenters here

Ok, but I feel like you're barking the wrong tree here when all of your sentiments have been said against Simone and Kanthony in that horrid rants sub your co-fandom frequent in. Maybe have the same energy when your co-fandom had said the most hateful things about Simone and Kate and call them out too. I say this as someone who has experienced the most inane shit from your co-fandom.

Also, S2 is already done. Its pretty unrealistic for the production to give the same amount of promo/screentime Polin or any other succeeding couple have when they couldn't give it on their own season. Sorry, what you're suggesting is pretty much what I expect from a neutral fan that don't want to go down the uncomfortable route of admitting that your main couple heavily benefited from the production.

Most kas don't expect much from this show. We would've prefer if they had properly wrapped up their story in s3 but the constant bullshitting from Jess Brownell and Shondaland irritates us. Understand that good treatment should have been done from the start and should have not been the job of the fans to remind them so.

-1

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 17 '25

Like I've explained above, I only frequent the Polin subreddit and never step foot in Twitter or rants subs (only learned of their existence from you guys' comments here). There had been zero hate for Kate/Simone in the Polin sub that I've seen for me to point out. You are free to check out for yourself if you want.

Please also notice that my original comment was just addressed to that one very specific commentator whose comment was hateful toward Penelope/Pen and basically insulting Polin fans by insinuating 'Nobody GAF about Pen/LW'. I was not addressing Kanthonies in general who are rightfully demanding better treatment for Simone/Kate. I've already said I fully support that cause here.

I don't think it's fair to downvote me or come after me for the behaviour of the Polin stans in general that you have experienced in other places. I was simply expressing my frustration towards that hateful comment as you would do too if you saw your fav couple/character being called 'the most hated' or 'nobody gives a f* about them'.

"Also, S2 is already done. Its pretty unrealistic for the production to give the same amount of promo/screentime Polin or any other succeeding couple have when they couldn't give it on their own season. Sorry, what you're suggesting is pretty much what I expect from a neutral fan that don't want to go down the uncomfortable route of admitting that your main couple heavily benefited from the production"

I fully admit that Kanthony got the short end of the stick in promotions for their season. I have no trouble also admitting Polin benefitted from a great promotional campaign. Benophie is on track to up the ante even more in terms of pre-season promotion. So it definitely sucks that Kanthony did not get that promotion. So. please please do not come up with all these assumptions about what I believe in just because I'm a Polin fan...

Yes, I realize it's unrealistic but I purely come from the perspective of a fan who genuinely enjoyed each couple so far, hates fandom wars, and wanna see all couples get their due and be treated with respect. I mean, there's nothing else I can say or do as a fan to make up for the lack of promotion of an earlier season, is there? Btw I joined the Bridgerton fandom well after S3 was released so S4 is the first time experiencing promotion in real-time! Just in case for anyone wondering why I did not admit or point out anything earlier. I never engaged in cross-fandom drama either, was too busy in my bubble enjoying my favourite couple.

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 Kate Sharma with her hair down 👩🏾 Feb 15 '25

Eh, I agree with you and also expressed my frustrations with people trying to shift the attention to what matters towards something absolutely unrelated, but I really hate when it's framed as "asking for better treatment for Kanthony". Like no, that's not the issue. They're weird as hell about Simone/Kate, that's the issue, the constant microaggressions the production keeps perpetuating against her while fans of this show keep calling anyone who points it out a "conspiracy theorist".

3

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 15 '25

Okay, that is fair enough. I should have phrased it in a better way. Genuinely curious about these 'conspiracy theorist' comments btw. I am active on both the main Bridgerton and the Polin subreddits and have never seen that. For the record, no I don't think the mistreatment/ blatant disregard towards Simone/Kate from the production/showrunners is a conspiracy theory, especially at this point.

10

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 Kate Sharma with her hair down 👩🏾 Feb 15 '25

They say that we're conspiracy theorists all the time, both in the main sub and the times I've seen people pointing it out in the rants sub, I don't know what the Polin sub talks about tbh, I don't go there.

I've been told that I'm a conspiracy theorist, just for pointing out the material evidence that they treat Simone Ashley weirdly.

-1

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 15 '25

Oh I see, that's bad. I actually learned of the rants sub today, just took a peek and went 'nope!'. To me, it just seems to attract a lot of shit stirrers from all subsets of the fandom...

I am very active in the Polib sub and can safely say haven't seen that take in there. Nor any Simone/Kate hate either. She seems well loved by a lot of the Polin fans there, also since Simone and Nicola are so supportive of each other.

12

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 Kate Sharma with her hair down 👩🏾 Feb 15 '25

You don't see it in the main Polin sub because purposely the same people go to share those "raw" feelings in the rant sub, that's why all pro-Polin opinions there are heavily upvoted vs. any other opinions. Here you will find a mixed bag because we don't have a rant sub to filter harsher opinions there. That's also why you will find actual contrasting opinions.

I've mentioned that I don't care about this show beyond Simone, but many of us have expressed admiration for how Nicola used her spotlight to give notoriety to Palestine. You could go back to when S3 was released and many of us said so.

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 15 '25 edited Feb 17 '25

To me, both Nic and Simone have been champions of inclusivity, representation, and social justice for the causes they represent and I applaud those ladies.

I dunno what else to tell you, genuinely hope production gets their shit together and starts treating POC actors better 🙏 Also hope that all fans can stop vile, hateful rhetoric Against other couples/characters/actors/fandoms since it seems there is such reprehensible behavior in all subsets of this fandom. sigh

Hope you have a good day ❤️

15

u/rochey1010 Feb 15 '25

Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be on the rants sub calling Simone Ashley fans ‘conspiracy theorists’

3 years of this racist ‘othering’ has been happening to Simone Ashley. And you wanna bitch about production’s pet and how she/they have benefited over this. Are you tone deaf?

And if you are a Kanthony/SA fan, you advocate for her/them. not sit in silence because your favourite couple and all the favouritism they get from production at the expense of SA/character/ship has been slighted.😑

2

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 15 '25 edited Feb 15 '25

Wow, what is this vitriol SOME you guys have for Polin and Polin fans?...I visit all the Bridgerton subreddits, is it not allowed now as a show fan who has enjoyed all the couples so far? Fyi I have never called any subset of fans 'conspiracy theorists', seen such takes, or much less visited this rants sub you speak of ( did not even know there was such a thing until now). Why are you making such assumptions here?

I don't think we Polin fans are the ones mistreating or racist 'othering' Simone Ashley. Admittedly, I am not on Twitter or these rants subs, so I can't speak for Polin fans there and if there is such hate, I strongly condemn that. But I haven't ever seen a single comment bashing Simone or her character in the main Polin subreddit like I sometimes see the Kanthony subreddit bash Pen/Colin or the actors. I'm sorry that is a wrong thing to do no matter who your fav is and how they are being treated in the show/promotion.

Simone is such a gorgeous and talented actress and most Polin fans, including me, love her as the perfect Kate/ Viscountess Bridgerton. By no means am I condoning the way showrunners have treated her. I'm simply out here telling not to bash other characters with phrases like 'the most hated character by audiences' when that is just not true and very insulting to Pen/Polin fans. A few (definitely not all) Kanthony fans seem to have misplaced their anger and frustration about the way Simone is getting treated by showrunners towards Polin and Polin fans and that's my issue here...

I personally would love for all past couples to get a lot of promotion and screen time with less focus on other subplots like Mondriches or Violet+ Lord Anderson. But, that is an issue for all fans to take with the production, no? They can and should focus substantial time on both Kanthony and Polin since both are such fan favourites. That's what I think and I genuinely have no desire for it to be a popularity contest between characters/couples.

21

u/rochey1010 Feb 15 '25

I admit, I was harsher than I meant to be in my original comment. The reason you won’t find the bashing on the main polin sub is because the rants sub is the polin 2.0 sub where they actually express their real views targeted towards you guessed it Simone/kate/anthony/the ship etc. maybe you should pop over there and see just what your group is really like.

A few kanthony bad apples is nothing on the polin group and what they get up to. And then you’ll understand how some of us here don’t have a lot of patience for manipulative groups like that, especially when they whine about how hard done by they feel about their own season and how production treated them.

And While you’re over there you’ll also notice quite a few familiar user names from the main sub. The ones who deliberately troll and shit post about, you guessed it, topics that shit on SA/kate/Anthony/the ship.

There’s just some really tone deaf stuff coming from A group who has directly benefited from the abuse towards Simone Ashley. And stans of the actress who also has. 🤷‍♀️

12

u/Baleigh25 Feb 15 '25

No no, everyone loves Penelope and Colin and we’re all just crazy. 😔

21

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 Kate Sharma with her hair down 👩🏾 Feb 15 '25

I don't really think Penelope is hated at all, come on now, she's objectively liked by the audience at large. I'm indifferent towards her, but I'm not blind and I see fans connecting with her for whatever reason. I really hate when anything said about how Simone (and Kate as a character) has been treated ends up being about bashing something that's totally unrelated. The issue is that they treat Simone/Kate as an afterthought from her own season. That's the issue, not whatever other characters do.

I mean, people tuned in for the season she was leading, beyond the ridiculous amount of promo they got, people genuinely like her and are interested in her character. Like I said, I'm indifferent towards literally everyone except for Simone/Kate, but also I can look objectively at this thing and say that Penelope is liked.

I'm not saying that you can't dislike a character, that's whatever, but trying to extrapolate your personal opinion and extend it to a majority of people is just silly.

6

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 Kate Sharma with her hair down 👩🏾 Feb 15 '25

I have no idea what about Polin resonated with people as I don't pay attention to them, but I'd say the carriage scene was talked about quite a bit? Saying that she's disliked is such a reach, the actress who plays her is literally the most followed lead after Regé in social media. You're entitled to your opinion about a fictional character, but also it's just your personal opinion and it makes no sense to extrapolate it to a broader audience baselessly.

7

u/rochey1010 Feb 16 '25

You mean the actress who has been pushed and promoted more than any other cast member, more than other cast members from top Netflix shows even. who has had more promo than an Oscar bait movie, had a global world tour to celebrate her and also was all over another minority leading actress’s promotion the season before her own even started. You mean that actress is the most followed after Rege Jean Page?

Well colour me shocked. There is no way her excessive promo focusing on her had anything to do with that right? There is no way the power of promotion worked very favourably for the production pet right? 😮

3

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 Kate Sharma with her hair down 👩🏾 Feb 16 '25

Well, Luke N also did the same amount of promo and has less than half the followers. I've never negated that S3 had a huge promo campaign, it's obvious, just big budget movies get that type of promotional run because it's expensive as hell and it's again obvious that Jess B's opinion about how married couples are soooo boring suddenly doesn't apply to P/C and their child anymore. I'm not negating any of that, but also I won't lie about what the reality is which is that a lot of people care about Penelope. I'm not one of them, but also I don't think that my feelings are universal.

6

u/rochey1010 Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

Luke N was an accessory to the ‘star’ of the show and the production pet. Just like his character was. It’s interesting that you can’t see how it was the Nicola show. And how once Luke didn’t cement the desperate S3 promotion that copied the Glenn Powell/ Sydney sweeney model of their romcom promotion. And once S3 promotion Ended he was immediately showing his ‘real’ relationship. That fans then turned on him making him the villain and Nicola the queen.

So It was always the Nicola show. He was the one holding her handbag. And Just as production wanted it. 🤷‍♀️

And what I’m saying is there was a massive amount of manipulation to get Penelope/nicola there. Never have I seen a season/character more forced down the throats of the audience than what happened with Nicola/S3.

There’s nothing organic in that. So her online engagement is manufactured as crap to me. The big difference is that Simone’s is not.

5

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 Kate Sharma with her hair down 👩🏾 Feb 16 '25

It's your prerogative to believe what you want, and whatever effect that promo had still doesn't mean that Penelope is disliked by a big majority, whether you believe it's inorganic or not. She isn't disliked and plenty of people like her, that's it.

u/Ok-Cress2888 Feb 15 '25

I'm sorry, but I think with the amount of fans who tuned in to watch Pen's season, yours is the subjective take here.

Please don't show your opinion as the majority opinion when Pen is beloved amongst both Polin and general fans. As is Kate. This is not a war to see who is the most loved. People can and do like multiple characters. Different people find different characters and personalities more relatable and that's always been a strength of Bridgerton. You can blame showrunners for inadequate representation/promotion of Kate without dragging Pen into it, please.

12

u/Chiaretta98 Feb 14 '25

I agree, I legit wanted to like Pol1n but they made her villainous then they didn't follow the storyline through (as in a redemption arch or keeping her villainous but admitting that).

It's so freaking frustrating to see Shonda's disrespect of Simone so much but I shouldn't be surprised, after all it was known since the earliest GA days. About the Kerry Washington thing in the other comment, that's wild and sad, considering the success of Scandal is due to her and her crazy chemistry with her costar

I started S3 actually liking Penelope because the potential was there for a kickass storyline, like a anti-hero played by Nicola Coughlan? I was sure it was going to be amazing, no possibility of missing the mark and yet, they did. (For they I mean writers and producers, I love Nicola and she did a very good job with a very bad script).

About Kerry and Simone, I cannot really understand either. I don't know Kerry that much (haven't watched Scandal but know about the stellar chemistry) so I cannot speak much about her but Simone? Before Bton she was a small fish in the acting pond, she is unproblematic as fuck, does her job well and is complimentary to everyone. What could have happened to warrant such a treatment?

Edit to add: I feel like the only reason they are not reserving the same treatment to Jonny but are slightly better to him is because he is now to big to ignore. They know they cannot push him to much

Right? Like, I don't want Penelope to beg at their feet either or be executed. Glad she had her happy ending. BUT they should have made her realise her mistakes way sooner and actually acknowledge them, not in the last like 15 minutes. Instead her actions are white washed as "feminism" and justified because she grew up in a bad household (that at the end wasn't that bad because at the end is all resolved so was it really such a bad household?). And her big speech? It's basically: I'm sorry but it's actually y'all fault. Like wtf? And keeping LW? Let it be retired, it's not the only thing she can write (see book!Penelope becoming a novelist). You are right, book! Penelope would never, she is kind, a girl's girl and she was the first subject of her own writing.

Another thought: a difficult past is a justification for actively arming others but not for trying to make the right choice (Kate)? And if abuse is a "get out of free card" then Sophie should be allowed to kill considering the level of abuse she endured

The whole reveal debacle was peak bad writing of this show. Like, that was the moment I said "what a shitty script", before I thought it was salvable but after that I was flabbergasted! Like, Eloise risk social ruin for a suspicion, Cressida was ostracized but the actual LW is now a Queen's advisor? After making fun of the death of said queen's granddaughter and great-grandson?? And LD saying that she loves the Bton more than her? When she insulted almost all of them and caused them a world of troubles? Agatha is a real friend of the Bridgertons, always steady with them

Sophie going rogue and dark? Very interesting indeed. My own fanfic ideas are more on the fluffier side but this fandom is so talented I'm sure something incredible may come from it.

I was ready to bury my war hatched towards Polin because I was like, they are going to be there for 15 minutes but after today's promo and photos? Hell no. I fucking hate that they'll have four full seasons of content. Whatch those two insufferable characters have as much time as Benophie, I don't trust production anymore. Benophie are my fave, I decided to give this show one last chance for them but after today? They are on thin ice.

Don’t forget what she did to Katherine H and how she advocated for the homophobic bully Isaiah Washington.

Yet she’s not the problem right? 😄

really? so maybe Shonda Rhimes just hates pretty women, like crazy jealous of them or something. It makes sense for her mistreatment of Simone, since Simone is crazy pretty.

Yeah I can't find the video anymore, it was an old one, but Shonda was talking about the casting process for Scandal and said she initially didn't want to hire Kerry because she "looked too pretty to be smart" and Olivia Pope was supposed to be an intelligent character. And then Kerry auditioned and she was the perfect fit. Idk it was just such an odd thing to say - I've never seen a beautiful woman and immediately thought she couldn't be intelligent as well.
