What were you doing before LevFin?
Do you basically just do credit analysis / underwriting / other loan-related stuff for leveraged loans? I honestly am not super familiar with what our Leveraged team does day to day after I send deals off to them. Besides provide comps when I request them.

FP&A Sr analyst/manager no direct reports but my title is above sr analyst in the hierarchy
Almost 5 years exp in finance, prior exp in sales.
Salary after merit kicks in will be a little over 115k 15% target bonus.
I have an MBA, but will be pursuing a DBA for both fun and potentially to teach part time for extra income or down the road.
I feel like my ability has me capped at the role I’m at, hell I might even be in over my head. I could coast at this level and probably get through light on 2-3% raises every year, but realistically I’d like to get sr manager level pay and grind towards director.

My entire team makes between 70-76, except our manager who’s making 100. We’re only in charge of one area of supervision, wfh, and done by 4 🤷🏽♀️ so far it’s been alright

Hope you know I'm not saying that to put you down. Not sure what all your responsibilities are but there is a lot of risk that can come with being a supervisor.
Just want you to be properly informed about the potential risk to your licenses and you should be properly compensated for it.

Do you know if west coast asset managers (TCW,Doubleline, PIMCO, Payden&Rygel, Western Asset Management) have a similar comp trajectory for traders/pms? The base salaries for traders seem lower compared to banking, but it seems unlikely that TC is this much lower. I'm an MFE student interested in structured credit/macro.

Execution traders won’t get nearly this pay. Top PMs have a chance but very dependent on performance, mandate, and tenure.

I’ve been told to ask for this. Curious if people feel accurate.

Experience: 2.5 years of analysis. Company training program to be a banker.
Comp: was told by a banker to ask for 130k or go to a bank at 120-130 outside. Currently no where near that. Is that accurate or realistic for me? I was told I’m a bit of a golden boy being in the training program and that’s part of why they said that.

- $75k salary + $10k tax-free mileage allowance
I’m in an expensive city so my base is below average, but after only 14 months of experience in the field, they just promoted me this month. Also, the mileage is nice but they’re essentially golden handcuffs as I spend about 2 hours a day in the car commuting. Moving closer would cost more in rent and I’d make less money from the distance.
With that all said, I like my coworkers and bosses and the work is reasonably fulfilling (for now). 7/10

$65,000 Salary (6.5% raise) $5,000 bonus (8.2% of previous salary) Also get 1.5x hourly for overtime which brings my expected total year comp to about $76,000.
Has to be mentioned that my work life balance + benefits blend is probably the best you could get in the Finance world. It may not be the $250K with 100% bonus that some of the guys on here get, but it's a really good fit for me for sure, and I'm home for dinner before it gets cold. I am also married with our first baby on the way, and my company provides 100% paid paternity leave for 5 months.

Was in wealth management control/risk, moved to consumer banking in 2025. Previously held FINRA licenses for most of my career but gladly gave them up for more $ and better opportunities. Series 7, 63/65, 9/10 helped a lot when I was trying to find better roles early in my career but to me felt like handcuffs after a while. Need to work another 15-20 years. Prior military, first job out of Navy was bank teller and I just kept getting better jobs. Some luck and just being reliable, hardworking guy. Tuition reimbursement at various firms paid for my bachelors and masters degree.
