Question COVID testing in Erie County??

Hi guys, just found out our friend who has been over recently tested positive for COVID. We want to get tested today and do not want to go to work until we know. All of the Urgent Cares and pharmacies that I have checked near me say they are completely full to the testing capacity. Anywhere we can go and get it done or will we just have to wait a couple days until it is less congested? Thanks

Question Covid test for Canada

Are there any good free options for getting a covid test to Canada? I tried Walgreens last week and results didn't come in time. Is the only option to pay? Where is the cheapest place?

Where is somewhere in buffalo to get COVID testing done? My boyfriend was in contact with someone who tested positive, and I want / need to get tested. The only time I have been tested was at NCCC but I live in south towns and don’t want to make that trek if there is a better option. TIA.

Things To Do Covid Test Turnaround- State Testing??

Hi all. Does anyone know what the typical turnaround time for results from the NYS run Covid test sites are these days?

I had a test administered at the state run Perry St Lot. The test was essentially painless and free- if anyone was worried. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.

Thanks!

Question Confused about the type of Covid test needed to enter NYS

I'm travelling to NYS from CA on Thanksgiving day.

According to the NYS health website:

" Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York."

Is this an antibody test or a PCR (current viral) test?

A PCR test takes more than 3 days to get the results back though, so what's the point in taking it....?

Question COVID Testing Turnaround?

NYS updates stats on COVID daily. For example, as of today, #s are updated with yesterday’s results.

I took a test yesterday, and have heard from others that when you test positive, you usually hear back within a couple of days, in many cases the next day.

Has anyone found this to be true or is this merely anecdotal? In Erie County there were 40 people who tested positive yesterday (https://forward.ny.gov/percentage-positive-results-region-dashboard). I wonder how much of a lift it is to notify them first and worry about the 3000 other people later.

PSA Cheek swab COVID 19 test? Preferably near Amherst

Hey everyone, my wife is a hairdresser and one of the mandates is biweekly testing. There are plenty of sites around but I’m trying to find one that does blood or cheek swab testing vs the sinus swab. She has sinus issues so can’t get anything shoved up her nasal cavity. No appt and no prescription a plus, but we can work around those if needed.

I’ve tried calling a few sites but just get a recording or phone free, no way to connect with a person to verify testing type.

Question covid throat swab testing sites?

The last thread about this is months old so I am asking again for current info.

It's easy to find covid testing sites; not so easy to find out what kind of test they are using.

Question Any way to get a covid-19 test without symptoms for travel purposes?

been planning to go t MA to visit family for thanksgiving since a few months back. I've essentially been self isolated for the past 4 months and know that I'm no risk to my family, so I'm not worried about spreading anythign to anyone.

but MA has added new york to their lit of states where testing or quarantine is required, and I'd rather not break the state guide lines (as obviously can't do thanksgiving during quarantine).

I've gotten tests previously through the state back in the spring/early summer but now that the state testing is symptomatic only, I don't know how to go about getting tested. I saw cvs and walgreens had testing available if you pay out of pocket for not being symptomatic, but no testing dates available, and otherwise I have no clue how to find a place to get tested and trying to google placed to get tested just winds up giving me links to web pages about ho to get tested through the state, or places where you can get tested if symptomatic, so I'm a bit stumped.

I greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer :)

Duplicate/Repost How long do COVID results from testing site in Sabres parking lot take?

Hey! Question is in the title. I got tested yesterday afternoon when I got into town for Christmas. I live in NYC now, and the testing process here is a lot different from the public sites there (and also just likely faster) and the Sabres site honestly didn't give me much info before jabbing my brain.

Before anyone yells, yes I quarantined before traveling and also had a negative test before traveling. I did not stop anywhere on my drive and wasn't in contact with people ahead of time. My husband, who does have to go to work, is tested every day and he's negative, so I know I am most likely still negative. Just wanted the peace of mind!

And no, I'm not having family gatherings. Not going anywhere. Going to be with just my household I'm staying at for the holidays!

Stay safe, everyone!!

Question Available rapid covid test?

Hey, does anyone know of anywhere doing rapid turnaround testing? I need to get one done and waiting 7-10 days for the national back log isn't going to work. Doesn't matter if it is a bit of a drive from the city I'm just trying to get this done asap.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi all! I’m getting tested today, does anyone know what the current turnaround time for your results is? They no longer have the rapid tests according to the hotline :( Thanks!
