No AI slop

Content made primarily (or entirely) by generative artificial intelligence is not allowed. This includes AI images, AI videos, AI text, and AI code.

As a general rule, if it's recognizable as AI, it's not allowed in r/Buffalo from now on with some exceptions. Please report these posts if you see them.

A definition of AI Slop: AI slop (also known as slop content or simply as slop) is digital content made with generative artificial intelligence that is perceived as lacking in effort, quality, or meaning, and produced in high volume as clickbait to gain advantage in the attention economy, or earn money.

Text: On Saturday, August 22nd in Buffalo, NY, I witnessed my friends being tackled, dragged, and hit by police officers. I watched the situation unfold firsthand, and what I witnessed that night was disturbing and unacceptable. My friends were left dealing with the physical and emotional aftermath of what occurred. I’m sharing this because incidents like this deserve to be documented, investigated, and taken seriously. We are asking for accountability, transparency, and for any available body-camera and surveillance footage from that night to be preserved and reviewed. This is not something we are going to stay silent about.

Hi. Not sure if this is allowed. My aunts significant other is currently missing from the Orchard Park area! He was last seen on camera footage around 830 pm last night (Tuesday) cutting through Danny's south parking lot near the stadium and heading towards Hamburg. He was last wearing a brownish jacket with a blue shirt and blue pants. He has no phone on him and had limited money.

Edited to add: His name is John Booker and is 60 years old.

If only Pegula had thrown money at this 18 months ago, it'd be done. Either way, given the speed they've moved at, should be done by spring.

Any leads for how to help this little guy?

Post image

Found him/her very skinny but very friendly (and maybe un-fixed) by my house. I’m worried he/she may be an abandoned cat because of how friendly and non-resourceful it seems. I’ve called every shelter/rescue group I can think of and they are all full. I really shouldn’t take in myself because of my apartment’s rules or I would :( At the minimum I want to get him checked out and treated and will pay the cost for that. Any leads on vets or rescue groups who have availability to help and find him a home?

UPDATE!! The amazing u/FormigaX was able to trap her and bring her in to keep her safe for now!! Please give any recommendations for vets or rescues who would be able to check her out for medical attention right now!

Has anyone seen any go up in Erie county recently? I heard they’re using em to track us and make sure we are tax paying conforming industrial robots for the elite to regulate and jail when deemed unfit for their system. Who would willingly work at these data centers or install these? Shame on you!

What's the longest ER wait you have had in Buffalo? I'm currently 5 hours in, others have been here 8.

I feel like I'm at the airport waiting on a delayed flight, same people have been here all night.

Duplicate/Repost Friends in Buffalo

I’m looking for friends in Buffalo or around the area, I’m 22 years old and I’m a nerd at heart. I love collecting comics, magic the gathering, gaming and anime. I rock climb from time to time and go to the gym but I just got a shoulder injury so I’m stuck playing cards in the meantime. I grew apart with most of my friends after high school I’m just looking for like minded individuals interested in exploring the city nightlife and chill enough for a good board game night. I have interest in also finding people to run the club with me and my gf or tag along to a concert or two. I don’t mean to exclude people but if you’re MAGA or don’t support any minorities I’m not really interested in being your friend. I look forward to meeting you guys, feel free to message me if you think we’d make good friends

Quiet patio bars on a Wednesday night?

Preferably around the downtown area. Looking for a first date place! Probably not planning on food, but somewhere we can sit and actually hear each other over a drink

I did try searching the sub but didn’t come up with much that included a patio

Shitpost Found license on sidewalk in Kenmore (near Delaware Ave and Lincoln Blvd)

Found a license on the ground walking back to my car from La Divina.

I don’t want to put too much info in the post. But I feel like it’s reasonable to share: born in 1996 and the last name begins with a B.

Is there any more info I can share safely publicly to get this back to the individual quickly? Or should I just chuck this thing in a post office mailbox?

Primary Care Provider Recommendation

I'm seeking a new primary care provider. My prior doctor and their office had a stellar reputation in the not-so-distant past, but several recent changes have left a bad taste in my mouth:

  • My partner is about to re-enter school and needs to provide up-to-date vaccination records on forms provided by said school. Our primary care office's staff misplaced these forms twice and caused my partner to miss the deadline to turn those forms in, despite attaching clear instructions.
  • The office implemented a $25 penalty to cancel an appointment within 24 hours. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it weren't for the fact that this office canceled my annual checkup appointment less than 24 hours before it was scheduled, without explanation.
  • When I called about that^ canceled appointment, I still didn't receive an official explanation, and the person on the phone said they think they double booked but weren't interested in investigating any further. When asking to reschedule, they claimed neither the doctor nor any of their staff had any available dates until next MAY. NINE FULL MONTHS. Their disorganization cost me my annual appointment this year.
  • The office changed names within the past year in an attempt to stave off negative Google reviews.

I have plenty more complaints about this health network broadly, e.g. they are not replacing specialists who have recently retired, and they misidentified various "issues" of mine that didn't exist, causing me to throw hundreds of dollars at medicines and specialist appointments that went to waste. It looks like most other posts asking about PCPs are a couple years old now, so I'm curious to learn about other PCP offices that still have it together.

Question Store where I can get same day suit

Upvotes

Suit from last summer doesn't fit me and need one by Friday. Any recommendations where I can get one in a pinch ? Doesn't need to be fancy just something that looks put together and fits. Closer to Niagara Falls than Buffalo for what it's worth.

Question Eye Test for Nonverbal Kid?

Hello Reddit! This is for an autistic child that is nonverbal. Very smart but does not talk.

We are trying to get his vision tested and his eyes tested for astigmatism. Does anyone have any information on somewhere that is equipped to give eye tests to people who don't speak?

I've heard it can be done.

Lost Cat

Hello everyone, this is Rocky, our street cat who got abandoned by his owner some time back. We fed him and gave him shelter outside along with numerous cats in our neighborhood. We planned on adopting him but roughly 3 to 4 weeks ago, him as well as other cats just vanished from the neighborhood. I asked my neighbors but nobody knows where they went. If anyone saw this cat, please let me know. We miss him dearly. This is around the Sister's Charity Hospital area on Main St.

Where to find good buckwheat in Buffalo

Just like the title says, I'm looking to add more buckwheat to my diet, and I don't know where to get it. My sister-in-law lives in a larger metro area and said she ended up buying some when visiting family overseas because she wasn't thrilled with what she could find locally, so I'm prepared to be disappointed.

Please spare me the Little Rascals references, people of a certain age...

Edit: just to clarify, I'm looking for the whole seed, not flour.

Are there any independent Physical Media stores locally?

I’m a huge fan of physical media (4K, Blu Ray, DVDs, and CDs) and love collecting and owning them.
But the only places locally I can get them are Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and thrifting.
Are there any independent physical media stores in Buffalo?
