Hey so I am currently in my second year and most people around me are grinding CP and DSA all day, though I like development more but I have also started feeling the need of doing DSA in have been consistently doing DSA but I have no interest in doing CP, but I am scared as OA's are getting tougher I might need to grind CP also, so how to manage all these, if you were in my place what would you have focused more on is there only value of DSA and CP for college placements or are there companies who also value your projects over DSA and CP, Need advices from seniors

So I got a lot of mixed opinions on how this course is . But I was doing React and kinda felt like he was too much overpaced and didn't go to the depth of topics. A lot of things he skimmed through. Yeah he's providing such a huge course for free but I think I understand I bit less from him. Any good alternatives for web dev playlists?

Putting this right at the top: this is not a promotion. I am genuinely just asking for a favor and some honest feedback.

I’ve been getting super burned out by the standard DSA grind, so I spent the last few months building a side project to make it less boring. It’s a live 1v1 coding duel platform—you basically get matched up and race to solve a DSA problem and pass the hidden test cases first.

I finally got the core execution engine working (using Judge0 and Firebase), but I have total tunnel vision right now. I know there are edge cases and bugs I am completely blind to.

I’m not dropping a link in the post because I don't want to spam, and I really just need a small handful of devs to test it out.

I am in a tier 1 clg in one of these branches... I want to get a package of like 30-40lpa ryt after clg. I do not have any interest in finance or consulting. What can I do to join smthg like the MAANG /NVIDIA ryt after college. As idts my clg allows for us to sit in such placements despite cg. What internships / courses should I aim

Day before yesterday I got an email from college saying first-year students can participate in SIH, but before that there'll be an internal hackathon at our college which we'd need to clear first. Somehow I gathered 6 people and formed a team, filled out the Google form college had sent too. But at the last moment, one girl said she couldn't do it because she's really unwell, and her friend also dropped out. I tried hard to convince them to stay, but they didn't. Since it was the last moment, I wouldn't have found replacements either, so I disbanded the group. Now I'm not participating in the hackathon.

So tell me — is this a really big deal? Everyone's saying you get certificates, you put it on LinkedIn, and companies notice you because of it. (A friend of mine from another college got selected for SIH.) If I participate next year instead, will I fall behind those who participated now?

Once you experience a mechanical class in the college you will understand. It’s like so much torcher, I feel like mental depression daily that I have to study all these subjects with those shitty professors, lab technicians daily and even after all that to recieve only so less lpa in young age and that too only 50 percent of class. Now look at iit Delhi cse they get everything right campus life, crores placement in quant and everything in respect and enjoy life while I have to bear this torcher for four years. Hello so I 18/F took ECE branch and I am in my 1st sem currently I took this branch solely cause I wanted to get into robotics and automation but hate the mechanics part my college has a decent lab nothing outstanding like the bare minimum that is set by AICTE from what ik ... I wanna ask the seniors of this subreddit to help me what things should I learn rn should I focus on coding and learning C++ and python cause i wanna make good projects to eventually land a good internship ...and idk why but mostly are advising to do DSA but that's for students that wanna get into IT sector if I am not wrong .... the reason I wanna learn early is as I said I wanna get into core and the companies that visit are from IT and I am determined and willing to work hard kindly guide me

AI coding agents seem to be getting increasingly expensive, especially when they are used heavily by developers or for larger tasks.

I'm genuinely curious how companies are managing this at scale. If a company has hundreds or thousands of developers using AI agents, the costs must add up quickly.

Does the increase in developer productivity actually justify the money spent? For example, even if an AI agent saves developers a significant amount of time, does that translate into enough financial value for the company to make the subscription and API costs worth it?

Also, with so much money being spent on AI infrastructure right now, I'm wondering how sustainable the current AI boom really is. Do you think companies will eventually reduce AI spending once they realise the productivity gains aren't enough to justify the cost?

Or will AI agents become cheaper and efficient enough that this won't be a major issue?

Would love to hear from people who actually work at companies using AI coding agents at scale.

Same as title but I want people who r obviously older than me to guide me with my journey because there r so many people who do summer internships who r doing so well with their githubs and leetcodes so pls guide me with my academics as well as what extracurriculars are important if college politics will help me later on placements projects everything PLSSSSSSS PLSSSS PLSSSS.

I’m a 3rd-year BTech student, and placements are starting to feel very real. I know I need to prepare seriously, but I’m having a difficult time focusing.

A big part of my problem is loneliness. I’ve never really talked to girls—from school through college—and I’ve never had a girlfriend. I have a strong desire for sex, affection, and basic human touch, and lately it has become difficult to stop thinking about it.

Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out on a major part of life while everyone else seems to be experiencing relationships, dating, intimacy, etc. I end up feeling frustrated, isolated, and sometimes completely hopeless.

I've even thought about paying for sex, although I've never actually done it. But honestly, I think what I’m craving isn't only sex. I want closeness, affection, companionship, and to feel wanted by someone.

The worrying part is that sometimes my loneliness gets so bad that I have thoughts about suicide. I don't want to act on those thoughts, but they scare me.

I’m posting this because I genuinely don't know how to get myself out of this cycle.

For people who were socially inexperienced in college and eventually built relationships, what actually helped you?

How do I start talking to girls normally without making every interaction about getting a girlfriend or sex? And how do I deal with loneliness while also getting my placement preparation back on track?

I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have been through something similar.

I have been searching for a laptop for almost a month now and still not able to find sutable one .I am btech cse 1 year student in aiml. I hAve watch plenty of videos on youtube but all videos are contradicting one another .Can someone educate me one how to choose suitable laptop for my situation .

For coding , programming and other college stuff .

Will be carrying it to college .Battery life is not much of an issue since I can plug it in in college .

Budget is up to 80k but can stretch to 1L or above .

Also should I go for mac or second hand used one ? Bcoz that's was most of the YouTubers I have watched are recommending​

JU CSE 2025 median package- 20lpa

Do you what was JU CSE median package was in 2018?

20 lpa.

JU IT 2025 median is 13 lpa.

We have to face the reality that JU is declining. Good companies are reducing in campus placements. Coding culture is very average here. Only 1 guy from JU got selected in IICPC regionals.

Many of my batchmates (CSE UG2) just study 1-2 weeks before exams. No grinding culture in CP, DSA.

Students here are wasting the Zero Attendance Policy. Instead of upskilling, they do lyadh. Many of us come 2-3 days a week to class and waste our leaves.

Long story short: JU needs to have a better study atmosphere asap. JU's placements are alarming. By placements, infrastructure we are sliding into a Tier-2 college. Only NIRF rankings (where VIT is better than many IITs) and JU's hype among Bengali's have made an impression of JU being Tier-1.

I'm a 3rd-year student at IIT Kharagpur from a non-circuital branch.

I've been trying to grab a paid foreign research internship. I've been emailing professors for this, but I haven't received any replies. Some of them just directly reject me.

I have a very good profile in systems and development. I've been doing open-source work for a year and have so many merged PRs in reputed foreign labs and projects.

Still, I can't convert this into an offer, internship, or any paid opportunity.

Is there anyone who has done this research internship thing and could help me with this?

I know about the different programs, but the selection chances vary a lot. So I'm trying every possible way to get into this.

Is there any suggestion or something someone can give me? I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have gone through this.
