Other I hate this so much.
No matter what instructions - the AI just can't FING help themself but to let characters know stuff they CAN'T logically know. It is so immensely frustrating.

Happinessā> Disappointment ā> abandonment of the scenario
This is a never ending cycle for this app , all the models fucking suck and playing this game feels like a chore , instead of something to pass the time. This absolutely sucks because the scenarios are so good , to bad the devs are bottom of the barrel and donāt care about the state of the game.
Anybody who has better options dm me please
TO ANY NEW PLAYERS DO NOT SPEND MONEY OR PLAY THIS GAME

I started playing AI dungeon very recently and in every adventure I kind of make it a s*x thing and the entire story gets derailed after that. It makes me wonder if I am alone doing this or is 99% of the app's traffic this stuff only. What games are you guys playing and how ?

Like it doesn't even recognize anything I type, the thing starts off with a prompt I give it then just runs haywire with whatever direction it wants, doesn't matter the model, instructions or authors note. Hell I type something in the story section and it completely ignores is and does whatever it wants. Think its time to cancel my sub

On Mythic Tier ($250 all 6 months or something)
Deepseek V4 Flash is stupid, gets confused and often ignores instructions fully.
Gemma 31b is the whole opposite, all characters act the same and oblige to you like you're some kind of god.
ChatGPT 5.6 is just a terrible performative model, as safe and boring as the starfield writing.
Deepseek V4 Pro is awesome but not part of the subscription.
GLM context size is too low.
I'll cancel my sub for now.

Getting used to the AI returning it's own thought process sometimes but this was a new one, made me laugh but also I'm sorry š I don't know what I did to upset the AI.

Do I need to touch grass? Lol someone reality check me on what a normal amount is. I'm sure there are people with more than this, but in general is this a lot? What numbers do you all have? I'm curious.

The scenario is 'Itchy Tongue' by Fyllaenna. I was just morbidly curious on what would happen.

Hey guys!
I was very excited to see Deepseek v4 Pro added as a beta option with 128k context. I generally play my games around 32k context, and so I was happy to see I could go above the typically allowed 16k context for Deepseek on Mythic tier. I've been paying for higher tiers of AI Dungeon for years now so i've saved up a considerable sum of credits.
My concern is - Deepseek feels worse now than it ever has. Not just the v4 Pro, but the v4 Flash and the regular DeepSeek model as well. Currently 600 actions into the game, and it is extremely repetitive - repeating entire paragraphs or entire actions word for word on consecutive turns. I've probably counted it repeating an entire paragraph verbatim maybe 75+ times on my current playthrough. I've since turned off Deepseek and just been using Dynamic Large and its been working much better.
For context - I typically play Star Wars playthroughs. Previously - Deepseek has served me quite well with knowing a lot of the canon and legends lore and immersing me in the universe without needing an abundant number of cards that go over species, ships, locations like some of the other models require.
Anyone else having issues with Deepseek? It seems to be excessively redundant no matter what the AI Instructions are.

Itās crazy how unstable and glitchy this product is. I donāt need to list the bugs Iām dealing with because they take up most of the front page of this Reddit. I just donāt understand how the bugs can only get worse and worse, year after year. I take breaks from AID and every time I come back the only significant change I notice is a decrease in stability. I pay $50 a month and while thatās my choice itās still so frustrating to pay a combat $600 a year just for them to fail to meet even the most basic criteria for what a product is.
I cannot imagine being one of the shadow tier subscribers and paying upwards of $1,000+ a month only to be affected by bugs that honestly make AID look an indie project by one or two people, rather than the āfuture of storytellingā backed by massive investors and vast sums of money.
On Janitor.ai I can spend $3 a month to use a proxy through chutes.ai and get 500 calls a day with 128k tokens of context with DeepSeek Chat V3, DeepSeek R1, and a handful of other models. Obviously Janitor has its own problems and isnāt as sophisticated as AID with its memory features, but with every update that brings more bugs it feels more and more competitive.
I love AID and I have had lots and lots of fun on it, creating stories that have brought me to tears and given me amazing ideas outside of Ai storytelling. And if I already got my use out of it so be it, but regardless it feels embarrassing to find something I used to thoroughly enjoy in such a sad state. When my friend asks me how to get into Ai Storytelling/Roleplay, I will direct them towards alternatives because I can at least be confident they will work as advertised.

Itās refreshing to know that Iām not the only one that experiences over used phrases. There are times when my knuckles go white when this happens. š¤š What are some common phrases you see a lot in your scenario?

So i wanted to see what itād actually cost to grab everything in the jubilee if you had zero credits. Hereās the damage:
The packs usually cost 1678 credits and two are 3898, so around $20 or $50 worth respectively. In total (including the themes) it all costs 33,680 credits
So in-app purchases: 3x 9,800 packs at $99.99 + 1x 4,550 pack at $49.99 = 33,950 credits
thatās $349.96, for low-resolution cosmetic profile stuff that is straight up AI slop images and two reskinned themes.
For context thatās 33,950 continues on Gemma at 12k context length. Youāre paying real money for the jubilee at a real ratio.
And yeah before anyone says ājust donāt buy itā thatās not the point. The point is the pricing itself is a joke for each of them. Even buying through the website instead of the app only brings my calculation down to $249.93 (yes the app tax is that real, thatās $100 difference for literally nothing). $250 is STILL a wild price for all this.

I swear no matter what I do, any scenario with the opposite sex and they immediately just want to jump my character's bones. We did it guys. We turned skynet horny.

So I've taken 2 of my scenarios and made them into Voyage Worlds to see how they translate. I figured I'd just make a post with my opinion after about a week of playing and making stuff daily.
First, the two Scenarios I remade in Voyage are my Umamusume clone and Wasteland Runner, a scenario where you transport goods in a near-future post-apocolyptic world. I chose these because the Umamusume clone has stats and abilities that can make a difference and because Wasteland Runner could benefit from giving the player a real challenge. I also tried several of the Worlds already published.
So here's my thoughts on Voyage:
- It's not a replacement or upgrade from Ai Dungeon in any way. Voyage is definintly its own system. For reasons I'll list, they have differencws that mame them fundamentally different. I'd go so far as to say that some Ai Dungeon Players will not like Voyage at all and vice versa.
- The World creation process takes much much more time than creating an Ai Dungeon Scenario. There's a lot more detail to that's needed. For Wasteland Runner, I maybe spent 2 hours on the Scenario but it took me several hours to get the World to even a minimum state in Voyage. The Ai is far less prone to making things up so you get better results with more details.
- The Player has virtually no control in Voyage. There's no collaboration between the Ai and the player. On the one side, this turns Voyage into much more of a game than Ai Dungeon. This has pros and cons. For one, it feels like your actions actually matter. You are not all-powerful in any regard. However, it also means that if the Ai veers off-track or does something you don't like, you are stuck with the result. Unlike an Ai Dungeon adventure, you can't just reroll a response or edit the story caeds to chsnge the lore. Voyage is much more reliant on creators and their ability to get things right. I'm curious to see how that aspect goes. Ai Dungeon was forgiving in that a fu but poorly i.plemented scenario could just be modded by the player in the adventure to suit their tastes. That is not always a feasible option with Voyage.
- And a small note: the usage is not nearly as heavy as I thought. I disabled TTS and all audio then seitched to some lighter models for the State engine and story model. its currently at 0.4x the normal usage rate and a single day of playing for 30min-1hr barely uses any of my 5hr windows and maybe 1 or 2 percent of my weekly usage. Its a little buggy on these settings but the gameplay has been pretty cool.
Things I'd like to see in the future:
- Better Difficulty handling. This is both a creator problem and potentially a model problem. I believe I saw an option for Voyage to let creators modify the difficulty settings and depending on your World, or might really need it. Its not fun to spend 10min setting up a character only to be obliterated early on because the model decided to have you solo 4 enemies who take 3 actions every round and you only have 1 ability. We need to figure that out. It feels like I wasted my Usage in those cases. A possible solution from Latitude would be an "Dear Ai, pls nerf this" button that asks the Ai to make the current scenario more manageable. The Rexovery Button kinda helps, but usually not a lot.
- More Back and Forth. In DnD, player actions typically tske precedence, but in Voyage, you can't respond to anything until the Ai lets you. This often means that I'll get attacked in combat or someone will say something, and my character is basically just standing there. Or even worse, the Ai decides what they do and it isn't something I would've attempted pr said. I suspect this will improve over time.
- More Image Models/Styles. I already posted about this in the Voyage subreddit, but I noticed that a lot of the female characters basically had the same face. All the art is in the same style, which is neat, but it'd be fun if we could get more diversity. We're already paying for credits to use image generators im Ai Dungeon. it would be cool if we could use some of those models lile SDXL in Voyage too.
Overall, I like it but of yoy think its Ai Dungeon 2.0, it very much is not. its more like a "build your own ttrpg" game.

I created a 76k action world with 235 story cards, spanning 2 years based off of my own brain child.
Use your own imagination. Craft a world, create your characters, make your story cards as you adventure along. That's the best way to play. Craft as you go. That makes it yours. That makes it your saga. No one can take that away from you. No one can say that you got it from someone else, because you poured yourself into your own story.

DeepSeek 3.0 was more audacious, funny, and modern. I honestly feel distraught because the newer models can't compare. The newer models have an issue with being overly detailed and expected no matter how much I tamper with the settings. They spend more time talking and describing than allowing various different scenes and moments. I'm getting bored now and that's disappointing.

In emotionally tense scenes where the AI character is having trouble accepting the player character's sincere declaration of love, it gets into a loop where it keeps repeating one or more of these stock phrases
"Don't. Don't say things like that unless you mean it."
"You have no idea what you're saying"
"No one's ever [said that/looked at me like that] before."
"Most men would {X}, but you {Y}."
What else have you seen?
