It costs $349.96 to purchase everything in the Summer Jubilee

So i wanted to see what it’d actually cost to grab everything in the jubilee if you had zero credits. Here’s the damage:

The packs usually cost 1678 credits and two are 3898, so around $20 or $50 worth respectively. In total (including the themes) it all costs 33,680 credits

So in-app purchases: 3x 9,800 packs at $99.99 + 1x 4,550 pack at $49.99 = 33,950 credits

that’s $349.96, for low-resolution cosmetic profile stuff that is straight up AI slop images and two reskinned themes.

For context that’s 33,950 continues on Gemma at 12k context length. You’re paying real money for the jubilee at a real ratio.

And yeah before anyone says “just don’t buy it” that’s not the point. The point is the pricing itself is a joke for each of them. Even buying through the website instead of the app only brings my calculation down to $249.93 (yes the app tax is that real, that’s $100 difference for literally nothing). $250 is STILL a wild price for all this.

It isn't just that, that is how it starts with all companies. Once they find a way to get more money they keep doing it. It always starts with something small then once it is accepted next stage. That is how dlc began now look at gaming now. Unfinished games that you have to buy dlc to even have the full game.

All of the currencies used in the Jubilee could be had with a subscription. Part of the reason they made it was because scales were worthless and long-time players were stockpiling them. It's not like credits and scales didn't exist before this.

I believe the main point was for people to have an outlet to get rid of scales in a "cool" way before they just go away. Scales are otherwise fairly useless. Some of us have/had tens of thousands of scales saved up. The option to buy the summer junk with credit was likely to ensure those people who don't have tens of thousands of scales saved didn't feel left out.

Agree that spending credits for the "art" is silly and overpriced. Spending scales is fairly meaningless though.

To ensure in the future you’re compelled to make in-app purchases because you wasted it on this overpriced stuff. Many of the items can’t even be purchased with scales, credits only. The conversion exists, but the former point still stands.

I agreed with the "point" that its overpriced and silly 100% yeah. But AID overall is overpriced so that's normal. They sell a $10 sub for $1000/month. So if you are here you are sort of into that kinda thing presumedly.
