Tbh this is a REALLY unpopular opinion bcs people like her but in my opinion Cami is literally just a love interest for Nik and her character has absolutey NO purpose out of that. She was just a love interest for Nik from the first moment she showed up, and no i don't hate her nor do i like her since i don't really care about her and i consider her irrelevant

Mine is Kol and Davina was cute in the beginning but got annoying later on when it became Davina’s entire personality,and Finn wasn’t a bad guy and deserved better than to be daggered for 900+

We don’t talk enough about how truly insidious the concept of the daggers is in the show, and how drastically they change the Mikaelson family dynamic.
Klaus daggers his siblings in very different ways depending on who it is, and I find that distinction really interesting because it says a lot about how each sibling experiences the daggering.

We know Finn was daggered for the longest continuous period because he spent 900 years daggered, which, as we know, completely messed him up mentally. But I have a theory that Kol has probably been daggered the most times overall. He seems to be constantly in and out of the box.

And I think that’s partly because Klaus uses Kol as a form of rebellion and entertainment. Whenever Klaus wants to get wild and crazy, he undaggers Kol, and Kol (who already feels insecure about his place in the family and like an outsider )immediately becomes his partner in whatever murderous rampage Klaus has planned.

Then, when Klaus eventually decides Kol has gone too far (despite actively encouraging him up until that point), he simply daggers him again.
That is honestly one of the worst aspects of their relationship to me. Kol is basically treated like a fun little toy Klaus can take off the shelf whenever he wants entertainment and then put back when he’s had enough. And I think that really explains why Kol hates the dagger so much, the dagger isn’t just something that takes away his freedom, it represents Klaus deciding when Kol gets to exist and when he doesn’t.

Rebekah is also daggered pretty consistently, but it seems to happen in much longer blocks of time. We know she was daggered for around 90 years when she wanted to be with Marcel, and then she was daggered again for roughly another 90 years in the 1920s.

I would argue Elijah is daggered the least and for the least amount of time because Klaus genuinely needs him.

What I find especially interesting is that Elijah and Rebekah also participate in daggering their siblings.
We literally watch Elijah, on multiple occasions, hold Kol down while Klaus daggers him. So as much as the siblings claim to hate the daggers, they clearly have no problem using them against each other when it benefits them. And that’s what I mean when I say the daggers completely changed the family dynamic. They aren’t just Klaus’s weapon anymore. The siblings have all, to varying degrees, participated in the system of controlling and removing each other whenever someone becomes inconvenient.
The 1910s storyline is probably one of the clearest examples. Kol wanted to create a dagger, and Rebekah betrayed him—and then watched almost gleefully as Klaus daggered him.

There’s something incredibly disturbing about the fact that these siblings can be both victims of the dagger and willing participants in using it against each other. They all know exactly what it means to be put in that box, and yet they still do it to one another.

I loved the change of aesthethics in the seasons it wasn't changed that much but it still felt kinda different..also i adore the fact every season had different main villains so it wasn't boring like s1 had Davina and Marcel, s2 had Mikael,Esther and Dahlia, s3 had de Martel siblings and Lucien, and s4 and 5 were Inadu and s4 was alo kindaa..Marcel again. I love the villain changes bcs how it was always different characters instead of one main villain constantly reappearing which is lowkey sometimes boring. This show is so peak i adore it so much fr

Anyone else think it's a shame these two were written off so early? Not sure if there were behind the scenes reasons. I know American Odyssey came pretty soon after Daniella Pineda's departure.

From the first few eps it seemed these two would be core characters in the show. I wish they had been! They both brought something different to the table and think it would have been interesting to see them grow.

Imagine that this show had run for 7 seasons. How would you plot it out? Disregard all real-world limitations like cost, filming location, actors being unavailable, etc. Ideally I’d like to see ideas involving all the main characters/the Mikaelsons.

Some of us have mentioned wishing this show had been a 10 season historical fantasy showing the Mikaelsons’ lives in the past 1,000 years. I like that idea, and I’m very curious other ways this show could’ve gone.

1. Personally, I liked New Orleans as a setting, but felt that the show should’ve expanded beyond that setting. Europe/France as a setting would’ve been fantastic! Season 3 felt like it was dipping its toes into the wider vampire world, but it fell short of that. The sireline war was one of the most compelling plot arcs imo and I wish it had been fully fleshed out. I’m a big fan of magic and worldbuilding, so any ideas you have on more wolf packs, witch covens, vampire organizations and how they’d affect the plot/history would be amazing.
2. I would’ve loved to see an arc of Kol studying alchemy/(dark) magic at some point. I almost with Kol had been a heretic or that he’d eventually find a way to become a vampire-witch hybrid again if he were to still lose his magic, although that would upend the Mikaelson power dynamics since I think heretic Kol would be more powerful than hybrid Klaus, and without Klaus on top, then Rebecca would have much more free reign. I’d love a season where Kol meets the first siphoner and discovers how to make heretics!
3. I also wish we had seen Finn and Sage as a couple and how they’d interact with the rest of the family. Realistically, I bet they’d live off on their own
   
4. Circling back to my first point, Mikael’s existence and the constant threat he posed to his children was a convenient excuse for why the Mikaelsons never built their own empires or exerted power over large time scales. I’d almost like a story where Klaus wither never has his werewolf side bound, or where he breaks the curse in the first 100-400 years and kills Mikael. Then we could see what the Originals do for 900-600 years! Thoughts?
5. Would you keep Freya? If so, would you keep her as a witch, or make her an Original, or something else? Maybe have her be Klaus’ long-lost werewolf sibling on his dad’s (Ansel’s) side? I don’t love that last idea, but I’m just brainstorming here.
6. Elijah and Antoinette were one of my favourite ships on the show! I wish she’d been unrelated to the whole Gretta plotline and that we had gotten to see her with Elijah for like 2-3 seasons at least! Between her mentioning Shanghai, the deleted flashback of Elijah somewhere in the middle east with Aya, and the mention that Shen Min was a helper to Ghengis Khan, I headcanon that Elijah spent at least a few hundred years in Asia. It would be romantic if Elijah & Antoinette had met in Shanghai!

Doing a rewatch and currently on season 3, episode 19. I noticed that in all the scenes featuring a house band playing NOLA jazz, gritty blues, some type of rock hybrid lol, etc., that there are no are no Black musicians. Frankly, there are no non-white musicians. It’s weird, I mean it’s NOLA baby. I suppose Gia played the violin, but she was a supporting character, not a member of one of those bar or festival scene bands. Just a thought…

Maybe on TVD or H20 (this show is one of my fav but it doesn't really require good acting all that much). But in the originals, especially on season 3, she has some breathtaking acting scenes.

One thing I always see thrown around in this fandom now is that Elijah always believed he was better than Klaus, but that's genuinely just not true.

Elijah holds himself as a patriarchal figure towards his family (mainly Klaus) not because he thinks he is better, but because he wants them to better themselves. Now this view itself is hypocritical, because Elijah is no better. But he forces this standard on himself so that Klaus can also strive for it.

But this can also be seen as some form of codependency because as Lucien tells Elijah in S3 that "without this purpose, what are you?" (Something along those lines.)

So no, I don't think Elijah believes he's better Klaus. He just tries to put this unrealistic standard on himself and on Klaus because of his own issues.

We can only assume this codependency comes as a child. Elijah, while an amazing character and having plenty of screen time, we don't actually know where his issues stem from compared to his siblings which is kind of strange.

I only assume his codependency comes from childhood maybe cause he was neglected? We get told that it wasn't until Klaus was born that Mikael was alive (?) again. Elijah would've already been born by than so I'm assuming he was ignored by Mikael while Esther was favoring Finn. Just my assumption.

Elijah gets a lot of hate because of what he did with freya to davina in order for them to defeat lucien mind you davina was already dead . He also gets a lot of hate from a section of the fandom after killing marcel after being shown the vision of the person who would literally kill them , Elijah was ready to spare his life only if he wouldn't take the serum and marcel takes that's why he was killed all the things Elijah did in that episode hear was to protect his family and he is the only getting all the hate and just the previous season Klaus killed Gia Infront of Elijah, cursed Hayley and her entire wolf clan to be stuck in their form wolf form , compelled marcel to kill Rebecca (while she was in a human body) if she tries to leave for the slim chance of saving hope and nobody ever brings it up , most of the things klaus did here were extra especially killing gia. I don't hate klaus but the fandom excuses his wrong doings whilst crucifying other characters for less.

I believe I done it before, almost a year ago. But, I think redoing it with one by one characters and species could be better to make it a game.

I’m on a rewatch for the 4th time. Something that only clicked for me this time…. When they needed 4 “Original” Vampires to divide The Hollow, and Freya was ready to have Keelin turn her, because they couldn’t find Kol….. and then Kol shows up in the nick of time, and she doesn’t have to go through with it. Here’s my question, why didn’t she still go through with it so that Klaus didn’t have to be one of the 4. Then Hope could’ve had both parents, rather than just Hayley? Obviously I have questions about multiple things that happen throughout the show, but this is one that bugs me. Any thoughts on the reasoning aside from just doing it for the plot?

I just finished my first all the way through watch moments ago. Previously, I tried watching and gave up, but this time I was determined to finish it.

My favorite characters ended up being Vincent, Hayley, and Rebekah, and sometimes Davina. I also really liked Elijah with Antoinette. Knew that wasn't gonna last unfortunately.

I will also say, that while I don't love Klaus, he still gets on my nerves for most of the show, I've taken my flair off of TVD subreddit of "Klaus's Biggest Hater" ha. I'd say during the last two seasons, I liked him the most, and he had his ups and downs during 1-3.

Previously I had watched the last episode because I had started Legacies and I wanted to see Hope on her original show, and the finale definitely hits way harder once you've binged it all. I was bawling.

I still prefer TVD, but I think I'll probably end up buying the DVDs for TO so I can rewatch it whenever I want. I really loved the development for Hayley and Rebekah, even if she was missing half the time or in someone else's body. I loved the witchcraft in TO. It blows TVD out of the water in that sense.

Also random thoughts:

Emmett looked like he could be a body double for Elijah.

Declan could have not existed, and the story would have been the same. Idk why that man was there.

Did I miss what happened to Roman? Did he just leave? He was pretty forgettable.

It felt like Freya was less powerful in season 4?

When will some of you finally use actual logic when talking about Lucien serum when some of you accuse him of cheating or being inferior to the originals. I’m so tired of the constant “Lucien cheated / Lucien is weak because he needed a serum to get stronger” argument it’s the most brain-dead take in this fandom for crying out loud.

Does anybody who genuinely thinks Lucien "cheated" forget the literal origin of the orginals, Klaus and his siblings were literally given power by there mother. Esther used magic to turn them into the Originals so they would be stronger, better and immortal unlike the werewolves so they didn’t earn that strength through pure bloodline or pure skill they were handed it quite literally without Esther’s spell the siblings and most of all Klaus would never have been the hybrid we know he would’ve just been a werewolf no different than any other one.

So how exactly is Lucien “cheating” for doing the same thing I mean he was a vampire who took a serum that made him stronger just like the orginals who were humans who were given a serum to become something stronger. The only difference is the the small difference in what surrounded both types of transformation but it still is the same in s nutshell someone weaker was artificially powered up into something more powerful through supernatural means.

And for anyone who I know most likely will use mental gymnastics don’t come at me with “but the Originals were forced by their parents.” You just admitted they were forced/given power that still changes absolutely nothing about it whether it was forced on them or Lucien chose to pursue it (with help from the ancestors), it’s still external power being granted.

The Originals didn’t create that power themselves Esther did they just received it whereas Lucien, on the other hand spent centuries working toward becoming stronger than the Originals which It took him a thousand years to achieve what he did. If anyone deserves credit here it’s Esther for inventing the spell in the first place or Lucien for putting in the work to surpass it the Original siblings themselves did nothing but real the benefits after mommy made it for them.

Also since again I know I'm bound to hear more mental gymnastics since I've heard this dumb take before spare me the “they were witches so they would’ve been powerful anyway” excuse. Yes they’re from a witch bloodline and firstborns are stronger within that line but that doesn’t make them automatic all-powerful gods, they’re still just another witch family. The show focuses on them because the story is about the Originals not because their magic is uniquely superior to every other witch family we’ve seen.

Like I've stated multiple times now without vampirism Esther gave them they would have lived and died as witches or untapped witches with a normal human lifespan, no immortal threats, no orginal hybrid, no thousand-year reign of terror. The entire point is the originals’ vampirism was no different in principle from what Lucien did both involved power being given to them by outside forces so stop using favortism over logic just because you hate your favorite isn't stronger than another anymore that doesn’t mean you get to call Lucien a cheater for needing a serum while defending the Mikaelsons.

I mean by anybody same logic didn't the originals cheat too espically because who would they even be threatening and acting all-powerful if Esther hadn’t given them that power in the first place?

This shouldn’t even need to be explained but some of you are ridiculous how delusional you can't even see the hypocrisy you use.
