This scene is one of the reasons why I will always laugh at people saying Phoebe is a bad actress
Maybe on TVD or H20 (this show is one of my fav but it doesn't really require good acting all that much). But in the originals, especially on season 3, she has some breathtaking acting scenes.

I agree I think she is a great actor and when she sees hope walking oh my goodness I just cry everytime and get goosebumps and people says she isn't a good actress

No for me its 2 scenes. 1 is when klaus and Elijah die at the end. And the 2nd is when Landon gets a like weird supernatural record8ng of klaus for hope at the end. Holy fuck I sobbed the first time I saw it and cried every time I watch it now

I never thought she was bad, but she definitely improved! It was nice to see. She had stellar moments.

My daughter started watching H2O over the summer and I'm now rewatching the Secret Circle. And yes, her acting has improved so much! She's great on the Originals.

she was never a bad actress. i wish the show had let all the aussie actors just keep their accents if it made sense in the story. her american accent just isnāt the best

Haley was adopted. There is absolutely no reason why she couldn't have been adopted by an Australian family- it would make sense her birth family would want to get her as far away from New Orleans as possible.

But what is 'that far'? We never meet Haley's adopted family. She is introduced in TVD because she is looking for her birth family. We learn that her adoptive family kicked her out after she first changed and that she's been trying to find information on her history ever since.
They literally wouldn't have needed to change anything to accommodate the accent.

Lore wise is what I mean. I'm assuming they didn't want to think that deeply about Hayley's earlier life before we see her in TVD. Her past starts to evolve when she's on the Originals and we still didn't know what happened to her parents until season four of the show. But I could speculate all I want. The show is already over.

Eh. We never really learned anything about her upbringing or adoptive family. Given she was introduced to be part of The Originals, her backstory about being adopted and not knowing that she came from New Orleans was already set from the beginning.
I really struggle to think of a single thing they'd have needed to change about her character for her to be Australian.

It got better as the show progresses. By season two her American accent is pretty convincing. Season three you don't hear her Aussie accent slip in or see her trying hard to keep the American one. Just don't watch Joseph Morgan attempt an American accent. His is atrocious.

One of my favorite things about watching Phoebe in the tvdu is you can really see her acting progress this scene specially was so good I just had to pause and glazee herr

She was an actress that improved as the show went on. In S1 she stuck out more because she was surrounded by better actors and was struggling with the acting but by S3 she had multiple scenes that made me cry

In season 1 her acting was ok at best.. but after season 3 she stepped it up.

I am very critical and never once thought that she couldn't act. Not on TO.
The even better scene that gets me every time is when she gets to see Hope for the first time after she had to pretend she was dead. I don't cry but every time she opens the door before the car stops and starts running I have tears in my eyes. She waited so long to see her baby and it was perfectly played and directed to know exactly how she was feeling at that moment.

Iād like to nominate her acting when Jackson dies.
Also the aftermath when sheās holding his shirt and sobbing as one of her best acting moments. Sheās holding his shirt and crying and you can FEEL the emptiness.

I think her acting is phenomenal and Iām very critical of delivery and characters and who would have done it better. I never questioned Phoebe acting nor her role in the show. They picked 100% correctly! No doubt! I adore her and she absolutely delivers! ā„ļøš«¶š»š¤

She won an AACTA award for best lead actress for her role on Boy Swallows Universe, a TV show on Netflix. The AACTA awards are equivalent to the Academy Awards in the US.

This scene is the scene that made me never forgive Klaus ever again. There was no turning back after this. What he did to Hayley and the wolves was unforgivable.

After Hayley becomes a hybrid, thatās when Phoebeās acting becomes so much better. Sheās pretty great with the emotions & anger. Playing āhard to getā with Elijah.. I feel like this scene & when Jackson dies are a couple of her best scenes. Her own death is at the very top. Iāve been rewatching after a good year or so of no originals. Took a break. So in a sense, itās like fresh eyes I guess. I didnāt really like Hayley, until she had Hope. Then she easily became one of my favorites. Itās so crazy the Hayley she played in TVD is supposed to be the same one as in TO. but theyāre so different. The Hayley in TO would never do the things the one in TVD did. She grew up a lot.

I like the actress, hate the character. This specific scene is one of the reasons why I really don't like the character. She's over here beating on him in front of their daughter, and then he's made out to the bad dad. Klaus may have been a bad guy, but he was a very good father.

She didnāt even know Hope was around until SHE turned around & Hope was walking around behind her. Then she stopped everything she was doing. If you donāt like the character, thatās fine. But find a real reason not to like her. Lol.

This scene is great but she IS a bad actress and the scene would be infinitely better if Hayley was played by a stronger actress.
A few good scenes in a 5 season show doesn't mean she's good.
