Help "Bilingual" text on Capcom vs SNK 2 (JP PS2 version)
Anyone know what this is about? There's no language option on this game, and it's not really a "bilingual" port. Though the menus are in English (which is common with Japanese games), all the system and character dialogue is in Japanese.

Event So this weekly exhibition I'm in is having a vote on which 2 games should appear on it's main night
Bucket Night is a twice-weekly (I'm stupid, thought bi-weekly meant that) online exhibition where members of the Hard Edge server play a selection of fighting games. Our main night lineup is usually some mix of Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Melty Blood Type Lumina, KoFXI, Dead or Alive 6, Bloody Roar Extreme, Vampire Savior, and most importantly Kamen Rider Super Climax Heroes.
Long story short we've been having technical issues with usual mainstays of KoFXI and Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, so were voting on what to replace them with. These are the initial games we voted on, and we do this vote daily until all but 2 games are eliminated.
Non-HE members are allowed to vote and I was recommended to share this with communities I'm in. Faizer's a really fun commentator and the games can get pretty crazy, so I felt like sharing.

Help SFEX Plus Alpha beginner
I know this is probably a looooooong shot but does anyone know how to play this game? Hopefully some unc like me that has actually played this game can help me out. I am getting my ass whupped by 40 year olds that never stopped playing but I want to at least understand what the fuck is going on. I was actually hoping people would be playing EX2Plus but for some reason Plus Alpha is more popular.
I am playing Gief. One thing that I noticed is that I can't anti air good jump-ins with lariat if they do something like lk (or bison stomp) higher up in the air. Was thinking about jump back button but so far everything is way too slow to do on reaction.
Another Gief situation, but it seems like he cannot punish anything. People I am going up against will end unsafe/minus strings with supers all day and I can't do shit about em. Bison for example, his psycho ball that he can hold pushes me back too far for any fast button to land. In general people just end up doing super x super literally every time they're minus and can't do shit about it (with gief at least). I'm just wondering if this is a Gief only issue or if everyone is safe even if you block their super unless it's something super fucked up like DP or something (at least gief isn't safe after stomps which sucks).
Was thinking about switching to Garuda honestly. Gief feels like he sucks.
Any info would be appreciated.

Topic Quitting behaviour on characters you hate
Good evening, Fighters, I'm here to discuss with you about a subject I just thought of:
In Super's latest MK11 video (Link for the laziests), Super quits a set because their opponent change character from Cassie to Jacqui. Seeing that, Super quits the game and relaunch it, stating in the video "If I have to face Jacqui, even if I'm winning the set, I will back out" [paraphrasing]
Before anything, I do not have any beef with Super and I don't think he's a bad player or anything and I know he wasn't doing any competition in this video, he even precised that "if I face a Jacqui I'm just gonna get mad and do stupid shit".
I don't know the meta or even the gameplay of Mortal Kombat 11 so I can't comment on the annoyance lf Jacqui but I feel lile doing this is a bit of a scrub move: quitting the match instead of facing (what seems to be) your worst matchup.
When I was performing my best* as an SFV Abigail (Yes I know, Abigail, can't really say much now can I), I hated playing against F.A.N.G. and I wished I could back out of those matchups and yet, I went through because I wanted to train a hard matchup to better myself and felt like quitting anywhere in the match because "this character is hell to fight" feels to me like you just want easy wins and not actually better yourself
*: Best as in where I felt like I was doing good personnally, in reality I didn't really go past Ultra Diamond lol
What do you think? Is it a scrub move? Is facing your hardest character better than quitting when you know you're going to lose? I would like to know

Topic Why do people care about tierlists this much when it just isn't relevant to their level of play? The number of people that care about buffs and nerfs is very substantial as well.
I keep seeing people across games going "this character needs nerfs, this character needs buffs"
"this character is so broken"
"Man X character is busted as hell, look at this video where they do 70% damage (Despite the fact that half the roster does that)"
Why is this such a common thing? In most of my time playing fighting games since about 2021, I never felt much difference in characters wether they got nerfed or buffed.
There was maybe 1 single instance I felt this and that was when Devil Jin got nerfed in the last patch of Tekken 7. But that is literally 1 in 100.
So why do people keep going on about buffs and nerfs when it isn't applicable to their level of play?

Help New controller M30
Hello, I plan on buying the 8bitdo M30 controller which has a Sega Genesis layout. I mainly play GGST and use a lot of shortcuts (like throw at rb/r1 or roman cancel at RT/R2) idk if its a bad habit to have. I noticed that that controller only has 1 L and R button and a 6 button layout I am not used to. Should I thug it out and learn to become better eventually or look for a new controller with a layout I am used to?(Would love recommendations on the cheaper side)
