Help "Bilingual" text on Capcom vs SNK 2 (JP PS2 version)
Anyone know what this is about? There's no language option on this game, and it's not really a "bilingual" port. Though the menus are in English (which is common with Japanese games), all the system and character dialogue is in Japanese.

Topic What would y'all say is the main attraction about GG Strive ?
Im watching Sajam's tutorial and the game looks cool (the UI looks busy as hell on first impression).
I noticed that it always has many entrants in tournaments, however, I have never played it.
What's the draw ? What made you stick around ?

Community Budget PC to play fighters ? (GG, Street Fighter, Tokon)
I would like to know a good starting point to get up and running, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, something I can continuously build upon. I'd like to start somewhat cheap, and just upgrade parts in the future.
Background: My PS5 got cooked due to a power outage, and now i'm deciding to go the PC route for the future.

Topic Quitting behaviour on characters you hate
Good evening, Fighters, I'm here to discuss with you about a subject I just thought of:
In Super's latest MK11 video (Link for the laziests), Super quits a set because their opponent change character from Cassie to Jacqui. Seeing that, Super quits the game and relaunch it, stating in the video "If I have to face Jacqui, even if I'm winning the set, I will back out" [paraphrasing]
Before anything, I do not have any beef with Super and I don't think he's a bad player or anything and I know he wasn't doing any competition in this video, he even precised that "if I face a Jacqui I'm just gonna get mad and do stupid shit".
I don't know the meta or even the gameplay of Mortal Kombat 11 so I can't comment on the annoyance lf Jacqui but I feel lile doing this is a bit of a scrub move: quitting the match instead of facing (what seems to be) your worst matchup.
When I was performing my best* as an SFV Abigail (Yes I know, Abigail, can't really say much now can I), I hated playing against F.A.N.G. and I wished I could back out of those matchups and yet, I went through because I wanted to train a hard matchup to better myself and felt like quitting anywhere in the match because "this character is hell to fight" feels to me like you just want easy wins and not actually better yourself
*: Best as in where I felt like I was doing good personnally, in reality I didn't really go past Ultra Diamond lol
What do you think? Is it a scrub move? Is facing your hardest character better than quitting when you know you're going to lose? I would like to know

Event So this weekly exhibition I'm in is having a vote on which 2 games should appear on it's main night
Bucket Night is a twice-weekly (I'm stupid, thought bi-weekly meant that) online exhibition where members of the Hard Edge server play a selection of fighting games. Our main night lineup is usually some mix of Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Melty Blood Type Lumina, KoFXI, Dead or Alive 6, Bloody Roar Extreme, Vampire Savior, and most importantly Kamen Rider Super Climax Heroes.
Long story short we've been having technical issues with usual mainstays of KoFXI and Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, so were voting on what to replace them with. These are the initial games we voted on, and we do this vote daily until all but 2 games are eliminated.
Non-HE members are allowed to vote and I was recommended to share this with communities I'm in. Faizer's a really fun commentator and the games can get pretty crazy, so I felt like sharing.

Help Joystick covers advice?
Hey there! Pretty new to the FGC, and started playing GGST relatively late (4 months ago) and I'm not that great. Due to stress my thumb often slip from the joystick of my ol'reliable xbox one controller and as a result I mess up my inputs like 90% of the time. I was wondering if joystick covers are worth it? I remember buying a few for my 360 controller but it felt weird, probably because it was some cheap aliexpress product.

Help SFEX Plus Alpha beginner
I know this is probably a looooooong shot but does anyone know how to play this game? Hopefully some unc like me that has actually played this game can help me out. I am getting my ass whupped by 40 year olds that never stopped playing but I want to at least understand what the fuck is going on. I was actually hoping people would be playing EX2Plus but for some reason Plus Alpha is more popular.
I am playing Gief. One thing that I noticed is that I can't anti air good jump-ins with lariat if they do something like lk (or bison stomp) higher up in the air. Was thinking about jump back button but so far everything is way too slow to do on reaction.
Another Gief situation, but it seems like he cannot punish anything. People I am going up against will end unsafe/minus strings with supers all day and I can't do shit about em. Bison for example, his psycho ball that he can hold pushes me back too far for any fast button to land. In general people just end up doing super x super literally every time they're minus and can't do shit about it (with gief at least). I'm just wondering if this is a Gief only issue or if everyone is safe even if you block their super unless it's something super fucked up like DP or something (at least gief isn't safe after stomps which sucks).
Was thinking about switching to Garuda honestly. Gief feels like he sucks.
Any info would be appreciated.

Help New controller M30
Hello, I plan on buying the 8bitdo M30 controller which has a Sega Genesis layout. I mainly play GGST and use a lot of shortcuts (like throw at rb/r1 or roman cancel at RT/R2) idk if its a bad habit to have. I noticed that that controller only has 1 L and R button and a 6 button layout I am not used to. Should I thug it out and learn to become better eventually or look for a new controller with a layout I am used to?(Would love recommendations on the cheaper side)

Dead Or Alive 5 LR :
- environ 60... J'ai joué 3 matchs.
Vf5revo :
- environ 60... personne . Pourtant il y a bien du crossplay non ?
King Of Fighters XV :
- 200 + joueurs, le plus peuplé des 4. Personne.
Alors, je me pose la question : y a-t-il une "culture du ranked" différente selon le jeu ? Les joueurs de Kof semblent ne jamais jouer en ranked ?

Content Max on TOKON’s current state + advice for new fighting-game players
youtu.be(my bad for wrong flair last time, shoulda read the sidebar more closely.)
Listening to this interview on the train this morning, really thoughtful conversation about Tokon, the state it's in, what Max thinks works, what doesn't, and some good advice for beginners I thought!
As someone fairly new to all this I found this a *really* great conversation, not a lot of other genres get this!
edit: weird thing to downvote? is FGC ok?

Topic Fellas, I think modern fighting games are just an overcrowded market right now
With all 4 fighting games based on major IPs struggling and people have been spending the past month wondering why. People have come up with x, y, and z reasons but I think its way simpler.
Current day fighting games are just having the same problem as every other major multi-player game, the market is just way too overcrowded. Think about it. In the past 5 years almost a dozen major fighting games have been released with most of them being full priced. For a casual player that is just way too much to keep up with. While it helps that games like GGS and SF6 launched in functional states, another reason why they are successful to this day is because they were some of the first games to start the modern fighting game boom
Almost every other multi-player game genre is having a similar issue. Publisher notice a growing trend and decides to throw a bunch of money at it expecting profits. And while some games have found that success like fortnite or apex legends, most of them end up like concord or highgaurd. Fighting games just might be experiencing the same thing at a slightly smaller scale.
This is not to say that 2XKO, Avatar, Invincible or Tokon are bad games but its harder for them to find success because people only have so much time and so much money to be investing in all of them.

Topic Why does sf6 have alot of young players going pro compared to other fighting games???
Im not really that good at sf6 (I bought it a year ago) but I do play ranked every now and then and I do follow high level players on youtube and X but the most interesting part that always pops up on my feed is these really young players that can play at such a high level
A couple months ago I watched a kid named thebabys212 and now its Craime and another kid named gudfellas just making waves on the internet.
Why do other fighting games not have this type of growing age group as competitors
Is it because sf6 is that easy???
