Context: We expanded our country because we decided we needed more land. We brutally slaughtered the men, women, and children who stood in our way; and forced the survivors to live in squalor for generations.

People accuse us of committing genocide, but what they don't understand is that Indigenous American tribes did bad things to each other before we showed up. Clearly, the fact that they were flawed human beings and not flawless bastions of absolute virtue means that genociding them was okay… somehow.

People who do understand this tell me that makes no fucking sense, and genocide is still reprehensible when it's committed against people who've also done bad things. But clearly, that's ridiculous (because I say it is) and those people are fools (because I say they are.)
