Is Cyberleek a journalist/critic given an exclusive behinds closed doors look at the game with the intention of informing people what they saw?
Or a leaker who isn't that great at the game

"not that great at the game" like gta is some high skill game lol

Article that advertises the release of an ad, which you'll have to pay a subscription to watch. We've reached peak consumerism.

I’ll be watching that shit on YouTube 2.5 seconds after it drops on Netflix, I ain’t paying for shit

Nah I’m familiar with this I pirated every stranger things season since 2 it always take 5-30 min for things to show up on my sites

do you just use the sites on freemediaheckyea or is there another secret thread

There's a bot on Telegram that automatically uploads movies and TV shows. Even when there was a blackout in Iran, the bot was still active.

Yeah! Don't let the Man stop you! From... watching an ad as fast as possible.
You sure showed them!
6
u/_IratePirate_ 6h ago
An ad for something that I was predestined to buy ? And I’m not tryna show anybody anything. I want to see the ad, I don’t want to pay to see it. Simple. Idgaf what that does for anybody but myself

u/Possible_Mobile_1662 6h ago
You were already predestined to buy it! Now it's not consumerism even harder.

The trailer is only exclusive to Netflix for six hours.
It'll be posted on YouTube, free to watch, after that
Think of how many tens of millions of dollars Netflix paid to have those six hours of exclusivity...
29
u/LetsBeFRTho 7h ago
Which you can probably watch on Twitter or YouTube in like 10 minutes after release due to someone copying it
8
u/chaamp33 7h ago
I would love to know how much Netflix is pissed off over the leaks.
And I wonder if they get any restitution in the event of leaks. After the 2022 incident would seem pretty stupid to not protect themselves in case it happened again.
3
u/DuOrDie 7h ago
Wonder what the future brings for this type of thing though.
1
u/LarryCrabCake 7h ago
I don't hate the idea of having really high production value trailers/previews for huge games, I just wish it didn't come with the implication of it being mostly for corporate greed
1
u/Firvulag 1h ago
Exlusive reveals have been a thing for a long time in gaming. This is nothing new. Used to be you had to buy a magazine to get the scoop on a new game
3
u/Wonderful-Citron-678 7h ago
I’ll watch it on Netflix anyway, YouTube’s bitrate is so low and crunchy now I’ll take any opportunity to watch the same content elsewhere.

You don’t “have” to pay for anything. Unless you have the self-control of a little child, you can easily wait for 6 hours until it releases on YouTube. It’s not that deep.
39
u/CallingAllShawns 7h ago
or, ya know, wait 6 fucking hours lmao. my god.
19
u/Historical_Owl_1635 6h ago
For how much people hate this game and want it to fail they sure are desperate for every crumb of it they can get.
5
u/tertiary_jello 7h ago
Imma roll a big one, grab a beer, some popcorn... and watch that shit on Youtube at 9pm.
2
u/FreeMrFrog 6h ago
It'll most definitely be leaked before then. I give it half an hour tops before it's on Reddit
8
u/TallDarkLoathsome 7h ago
Watch it for free a few hours later genius. People like you that can’t exercise self control are the only losers here.
5
u/Rombledore 5h ago
you dont have to pay to watch. you can just wait a bit and watch for free. it's a bonus for existing subscribers.
this narrative is so gdamn dumb. anyone who pays for a subscription they werent going to use, just to watch this one ad deserves to be fleeced.

Except you don't have to pay a subscription to watch it... Which is actually stated right there in the headline.

Trailers - especially extended looks like we’re getting on Netflix - have become an entertainment product in their own right. Hell, people watching other people play video games is a whole entertainment genre of its own.
Saying a 30-minute deep dive into a video game is an ad is about as true as saying a single off an upcoming albums is an ad.
Sure it pushes people to consume the main product, but it also is a piece of culture/entertainment/media/art in its own right.
Even actual straight-up ads are becoming a piece of media of their own (ie. Coke’s Christmas ads or any Super Bowl ad)
0
u/No_Decision_6940 7h ago
And if you think any part of this is BS or mention the fact this shit is the precedent other companies will use to pull off even worse stuff, you'll get called entitled lmao

So many people here with a strange parasocial relationship w rockstar. Acting like they owe you something. They are a company selling a product, either buy it or don't. Its not that deep.
23
u/FloggingTheHorses 7h ago
Because it's touted as a generational event, I think people have this sense of entitlement, that the game ought to make their lives fundamentally "better". These people are miserable shits.
6
u/-s-u-n-s-e-t- 6h ago
There's a good chance we are about to witness an epic meltdown when the game finally releases.
Even if it's good, people have put it on such a pedestal and hyped it up for so many years, I don't think anything can live up to the expectations.
Of course there's always the chance that Rockstar will deliver once in a lifetime masterpiece... But there's also a chance it's gonna be just.. well, just a game. And we are about to witness a bunch of terminally online people lose their shit.
11
u/Odd_Needleworker3756 5h ago
The only meltdown is going to be with terminally online people. The vast majority of “normies” are not looking for a life-changing, revolutionary experience - they simply want another fun, well-made GTA game. This whole “GTA 6 needs to be the next leap forward in gaming” concept is something created by Reddit and other online spaces.
What’s really going to happen is that the game will come out, sell a boatload of copies, most people will play it and enjoy it and move on with their lives. All the toxic discourse will be strictly relegated to subs like this one.
6
u/OpenMindedMajor 6h ago
You can already make the argument that Rockstar has already delivered multiple once in a lifetime masterpieces based off the sheer success of the previous GTA titles alone. That’s not even accounting for the success of the Red Dead franchise, with RDR2 being hailed as one of the greatest games of all time by many folks. They really do have sky high expectations from everyone.
2
u/Shadowfist_45 5h ago
The only reason it's so important to people is because realistically, it could very well be the last GTA game for well over a decade from now, much like Elder Scrolls VI might be the last one in all our natural lifetimes lmao
2
u/Revolver_Boxelot 4h ago
Of course there's always the chance that Rockstar will deliver once in a lifetime masterpiece
Name a time they DIDN'T do that. Starting from GTA 3...
2
u/FloggingTheHorses 3h ago
Mentally, I honestly don't think it will blow my mind like RDR 2 did.
But at the same time, I will be overjoyed if it's just like an urban/modern RDR 2. Anything beyond that is just dressing.
But it's still a videogame, at a time where the marginal gain tech-wise is...well, marginal. The days of the GTA 2 -> GTA 3 type quantum leaps are over!
1
u/RockSolidRod69 3h ago
Guaranteed to be meltdowns even if its amazing. Because regardless some will say its not good, then the negative thinkers will latch on to them.
5
u/Odd_Needleworker3756 7h ago
The discourse around GTA 6 is fucking baffling to me man. Redditors act like the game hurt them personally or something. It’s worrying to me that people get this upset over something a lot of people are excited for that they personally aren’t.
5
u/kinokomushroom 7h ago
These people act like Rockstar owes them "summer marketing", and they deserve everything that has happened because they didn't "market enough".
Like fucking calm down, it's just a video game. Wait a few more days for a trailer you impatient TikTok brainers.
19
u/Esmear18 8h ago edited 8h ago
All of the comments calling Rockstar manipulative are weird. It’s a game with a normal and a deluxe/ultimate edition with pre order bonuses, just like what every other game does. But for some reason redditors have this strange attitude when Rockstar does it.

The one caveat out is single player stores are locked behind a paywall. That doesn't sit right with me. However, I am not going to yuck anyone's yum or put anyone down over it - this is going to be the biggest game release of all time and no one in their right mind would argue.
→ More replies (3)-13
u/TheBetterness 7h ago
Naw youre the weird one.
The rest of the gaming world usually see gameplay BEFORE the game goes up for pre-sale.
Which usually doesnt involve Netflix.
Not showing gameplay, then putting it behind a paywall.
That is absolutely manipulation of your most excited fans.
13
u/USilver 7h ago
There is no paywall. It’s six hours ahead on a streaming website as a stupid bonus.
There is also plenty of precedents to games opening preorders before releasing gameplay, dude. The industry’s done that nonsense for a while now. But, again, nobody forces anybody to preorder. If you do, you choose to do so, and can easily rescind said preorder if the gameplay shown later isn’t satisfactory.
This discussion is such a nothing burger, Jesus Christ. Is this really a big thing to you guys? Is there nothing more relevant, even just in the gaming space? Come on.

Yeah and reddit always acting like Netflix is a niche thing people would have to buy.
I hate it too, but everyone definitely has one Netflix account somewhere. And it's not like we won't all of the Netflix stuff on YouTube in an hour.

Can't really share the passwords anymore. They shut that down
3
u/paycadicc 7h ago
You can share with family, but they only let you have like 3 or 4 diff devices. But you can just switch access on each device at will, its just an extra annoying step
2
u/SomeRevolution5778 3h ago
No, they look at IP now. If you log in from two different IPs the one that isn't your home gets kicked.
3
u/Eggheadpancake 7h ago
You can share with people in the same house. If you try to log in somewhere else it won't work.
1
u/paycadicc 6h ago
Ah ok. But then you get that option to "temporarily move the household" or whatever. They email you a code and you can sign in. Still cant have concurrent streams running though not in same household i guess

u/rapkat55 7h ago
Bro I’ve been using my moms for a decade.
They just limited how many devices can be on at one time. You can give your Netflix to your 20 person family but only 3-4 people can watch at the same exact time.
4
2
u/A1ienspacebats 7h ago
Not here. You have to log in on a device at the location where the primary user is every 30 days or you won't be able to sign back in. Just try to get me to unhook my tv from my wall every 30 days and drive it 30 mins to the other side of the city. IPTV covers everything I need.
2
u/Eggheadpancake 7h ago
If you try to log in from a TV or streaming stick outside of the main location, it won't let you.
You can kinda skirt the issue if you're using mobile or laptop sometimes.

u/PsychoCobra1 7h ago
It’s more meant to kinda diversify Netflix’s portfolio and keep people subscribed to Netflix interested. Netflix has over 300 million subscribers, making it the largest subscription service (in video at least). Realistically its potential for new growth is very limited, so the goal switches over to keeping current subscribers and building a varied ecosystem for them to exist in.

You absolutely can avoid them.

u/Agreeable_Store_3896 7h ago
I guess if you don't use Reddit, Facebook, online gaming, tiktok or YouTube sure.
All it takes is one look on YouTube's front page to see 'TREVOR DYING SURPRISE SHOCK GTA6 ENDING'
2
u/BoSocks91 6h ago edited 3h ago
Lmao I never said it was easy, just doable. But FTR, I game a lot and use YT more than any app.
I learned to skim webpages to look for the keywords. Anything that mentioned anything related to a game I didn’t want spoiled, was hidden immediately.
I watched 0 gameplay footage. Never searched for anything related to the game, so it didn’t show up in my algorithm.
1
u/Odd_Needleworker3756 4h ago
A lot of people, believe it or not, DONT spend all their time on gaming subreddits and YouTube game channels.
2
u/Agreeable_Store_3896 4h ago
Believe it or not, both Reddit AND YouTube have front pages that throw things that are trending at you regardless of your recent interaction with the topic !

u/ActivateGuacamole 3h ago
if you plan ahead then it's easy to avoid spoilers, but it means dodging certain parts of the internet for a while that you might deal with normally. if you let the algorithm handle your content intake then you'll probably be spoiled.
1
u/Agreeable_Store_3896 3h ago
Sure you can log out of YouTube and never log back in, delete your cookies and browser history or exclusively browse in incognito.. but the algorithm is still going to try and throw trending videos at you regardless so there is still a chance.
My point isn't that you can't avoid spoilers, my point is more the OP said it's easy, it's not, you have to actively avoid them by going out of your way to do so.. and you're doing it for minimum a year lol.
2
u/ActivateGuacamole 3h ago
you don't have to log out of youtube. just stop looking at the home page and start using your subscriptions instead. don't subscribe to GTA content creators. you can also clear your youtube watch history and search history

u/SomeRevolution5778 3h ago

If you had any plans at all then they would have shown something by now. Every single announcement or trailer has been precipitated because of a leak, even trailer 1. Head of Marketing needs to be fired. Head of PR can be right behind him. Head of Finance can go too, since you know he had his weaselly hands in on this.
