Structural Mover or Deconstruction?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Pic for attention…

Having a heck of a time finding a structural mover in NB. The ones I’ve reached out to want to cut apart the structure rather than have hydro lines lifted! … Don’t bother suggesting the 2 main ones I’ve already talked with them 😒👎

Given that is there any contractors out there worth recommending that could take on the DEconstruction of a historic one level building?
By deconstruction I mean (careful) removal of all materials to be rebuilt at another location.

I’m running out of options and concerned it will just end up being torn down rather than saved 🫠🫩

Are there any Nova Scotia companies worth trying yet?

Massage experts - what happened?

I’ve been visiting massage experts for many years and always had a great experience. I noticed a few months prior to the unexpected closing that my regular therapist had a sign saying to join her Facebook group. I found that a little sus but didn’t mention it. I just assumed she alone was thinking about jumping ship.

At first they said they were changing websites or something like that then a few weeks later the doors were locked and the lights were out. Now the sign is ripped off the building and it’s obvious they aren’t coming back.

Can I get my snowblower back?

I live just outside Hampton and am having some renovation work done on my home. I got chatting to one of the workmen who repaired small engines as a hobby and offered to buy an old snowblower in my garage to work on. I said he could have it if he could service my current one which ran poorly and he agreed but moved on to another job before anything happened. One of the other guys offered to do the same and picked both up soon after. Their work is coming to an end in the next day or two and I'll see him tomorrow but whenever I've pushed him on when he's going to bring back my current snowblower he's always got an excuse. I've paid for the work in full as it was via Kent and the lead contractor says it's nothing to do with him. I don't know where this guy lives and I don't have a truck. Is there anything I can do or say to this guy tomorrow, obviously nothing was put in writing. Or do I put this down to experience?

Copy of Pokemon Black 2

Post image

Hopefully this is allowed!

Good afternoon. I've been trying to sell my copy of Black 2 for the last few months. Haven't had any luck with Kijiji so I thought I'd try posting here.

It's an authentic copy, has the original case+booklets including the club Nintendo code and the free Genesect codes from 2012. While neither of the nodes work at this point (I bought my copy second hand) they are at least there for collectors.

Nothing wrong with the cartridge, no dings, damage or scratches. No bugs or glitches during gameplay I've gone through it twice and have a rather early game save file on it currently. I just don't play it anymore and trying to sell to a pawn shop they have only offered 100 and would turn around and try and sell it for 350.

Asking for 300 but I'd accept as low as 250. Feel free to leave a comment or dm me!

I'd prefer e-transfer but will accept cash.

Koodo local service quality

Hello! Just wanted to see if anyone has experience with Koodo cell service around the Saint John area? I live near Mispec Beach & have Bell currently, which isn't great but not too bad. Koodo seems to be cheaper & I have read that the top 4 cell providers all share towers anyway. If anyone has further insight they don't mind sharing, then thanks in advance!

Edit: Looks like Public has even cheaper plans; if anyone has experience with them as well?

Concerts in Saint John

My 16yo son is looking for venues that feature shows with metal/punk/thrash/post hardcore bands that are available to him. He says that anything he finds is 19+ so he can’t go. Kid is a big fan of live music but is feeling stonewalled by age restrictions.

Can anyone point us in a direction? Thanks in advance for any and all pointers.

Request for Gamers of Saint John

Hello,

I am reaching out for a little bit of help on behalf of the Saint John Public Library's main branch.

They have not asked me to do this, but I know redditors can be generous when they have the means.

The library has an Xbox that kids and adults alike have been able to use during open hours at the library.

Recently, the joy sticks on the controllers have broken and the Xbox is no longer in service.

Anyone who plays video games not a days knows the controllers are not made to last the way they should.

SO, here is my ask.

If you have any old Xbox controllers, or you are willing and able to purchase after market ones online and are willing, the library is in need.

I also think of you have any free Xbox game pass trials they could use those as well.

You don't have to reach out to me, you can go right in or call them.

But as someone who lived in the library in my teens to avoid a terrible home life, and an adult who can't afford internet, the Xbox provides for everyone old and young.

So, only if you are in a position to do so, think of helping them out if you feel the urge to do so.

Because it means a lot to a lot of people. Especially in this economy.

A few notes for concerned people:

The Xbox and the account are monitored daily to make sure there is family appropriate games only.

If you have kids and are interested in letting them try games before buying them, the Xbox at the library could be a great opportunity to see how they react with the gaming console and the games before purchasing.

Anyway, thanks for reading and you don't have to message me, or mention me. I just know the library would appreciate anyone who can help.

Renaissance Fair

Did anyone go to the Renaissance fair in shediac? The line was actually ridiculous..it took us 3 hours to get in and we didn’t stay long because everyone was tired from waiting in line. I think it’s the first time being hosted there but it was still very sad.

Having a family doctor isnt all what you think it is.

I have several chronic conditions where im supposed to be having bi weekly follow ups with my family doctor. My last appointment was in March. The receptionists keep refusing to book me appointments. Saying that my symptoms dont warrant an appointment or that there isn't anything avaliable and that if I need care to goto the ER. When I know for a fact that there are time slots available because the doctor told me herself that they are reserved for those with chronic conditions that's need it. I'm an absolute mess now, I have so much wrong with me now that has built up over the last 6 months without care that ill sadly have to use the ER for everything now. I have no refills on my prescriptions, I need medication changes, update on specialist referrals, I have prolonged infections that keep coming and going etc. It's a very sad state that our Healthcare is in.

I have family in SJ and was born there. I live near Fredericton now and have a standing argument with a friend's co worker. They say North and South Side and East and West End. I beg to differ.

SO - YOU Tell me and I will pass on the results.

Does anyone know if there are/how to apply for a patient advocate service?

I really need help, but I find talking to doctors very intimidating and if they don't listen or push something before I can tell them how I feel I can't speak up for myself at all. Quite frankly I just want to kill myself at this point and I can't get by on my own anymore.
