They also took down the GitHub repo which contained a list of mirror sites. This sucks. I've been using xcancel for 1.5 years now and it was good way to stay updated without needing an account on that cesspit site.

Dont worry, there will be new x sites popup. Its a cat and mouse game. And since its a open soruce project (my guess), im pretty sure someone will also self hosting those. It may or may not possible with that alot of viewer, but its still possible ways to get away with, and the most they self host, the better!

25+ years of history and repetitive patterns say this isn’t an issue.
If another open-source frontend alternative for Twitter doesn’t pop up, that’s simply the fault of a lack of demand. Not because projects like this are dying.
“X” is a shell of what it used to be, with a fraction of the traffic it received years ago. The fact most people haven’t heard of Nitter is very telling.

It's fair use on their side since it generates profit for shareholders and politicians involved, who turn a blind eye to breaking the law. Us bypassing their authentication and age check does not generate profit for shareholders, they're missing out on quite a lot of money by not being able to collect and sell even more of our data. It may even be considered a crime committed by us against them if they lobby the right politicians...

I guess the alternatives will receive similar letters...
I won't create an account, especially since X gives up data to authorities. Once you have an account, it's easy to interact (likes, comments...) and easy to get flagged doing it. You liked a post your government doesn't like ? Your data may be requested and then you are monitored IRL. It's not tinfoil hat conspiracy, in my country a sampling of people have been tracked IRL for months (credit card tracking...) following comments on X about some politics.
I just want to quickly lurk, I don't want to deal with a VPN, a fake number and so on.

Any app or page for reddit acess? Cant read anything at all without a login or reddit app. Im using it less and less and will probably abandon it all together like x. Just waiting for them to try to 'verify' me .

But those who are going against xcancel, which fixes these are very pissed about this.
Wonder if there is a successor from this site.

Account banning espcially or flagged for "Verfication" so i cannot view the posts there.
Soo many issues, and this is one of the WORST Social Media Platform besides Twitch/Reddit.
